Gary, I have never seen this issue. I do the Source and Destination airports, click "Procedures" and add a RNAV and the FlightPlan is good to go.
For instance. I would type "KGTU" [space] "KCRS" [space] then click on Procedures, click on Approach, click on "RNAV (GPS) RWY 14", click on "DRILL", click on "LNAV", and click on "Add to Route"
My flight plan then says [KGTU] [DRILL RNAV (GPS) RWY 14] [KCRS] and there is no gap in route.
I can't quite remember the Garmin 430w Key sequence, but even if I hit Direct KCRS and then click the Proc button, I can choose the same approach and have never seen this issue.
Is this an Avidyne problem or a lack of choosing the procedure in ForeFlight?

On the STAR, can the vector leg be eliminated earlier in the flight plan? The problem is when the STAR vector leg is in the flight plan the flight time and fuel remaining indications are way out. It may add over an hour to the flight and show much less fuel at the destination. To get around this, I change from direct to the airport to get an accurate flight time and fuel remaining and switch back to the STAR to stay on course. Seems like a lot of unnecessary button pushing.
