This is a very popular style here in Sweden. But many, like me, are not into modern minimalism at all, but prefer the faded antique, *Swedish Rococo* style, with lots of charm and patina.
Swedish Rococo style definitely exudes a timeless charm with its faded antique allure and rich patina. I would say I resonate more with that as well given my love of antiques, character, and patina. Embracing what resonates with you personally is what truly makes a home special. Thanks for sharing your perspective! xx
Hello my Dear! It has been a while since I left any messages, but I watched each and every time. I have been watching them on my TV because I like to see the big picture 😂. They're so good, where you want to sit back with a glass of wine and enjoy them on the Big screen.😅😅😅I hope all is well and have a wonderful week ahead. Xoxo 😘😘
Hi Suzie! ❤ I have always had a fondness towards Scandinavian furniture. I personally have not had, but my Mama did in our home in the 1960s. I loved it and often think of it. The colors were not so neutral back then. I wish I had those items today! Thank you for including this. It warmed my heart. The piano music was lovely. I felt you were playing it yourself, for me! 🥰 I hope all is going well for you and yours. Hugs dear!
correct in Scandinavia we have trend like in the US, meaning when designers show (and they usually do) a very light neutral style as being Scandinavian, they have picked 1 moment in time and 1 version, sometimes light wood is in sometimes dark, sometimes lacquered but often raw mat, sometimes it has been in trend with terracotta or burned yellow walls, sometimes bright colors chairs, or sofa, sometimes pastel , in the end it's a personal choice but as told in the video, when Scandinavian use color it's a pop, the color is not repeated again and again it can be just 1 red sofa in an otherwise neutral home or the frame of a window in blue, a multi colored painting ect. you seldom repeat
Hello Gina! ❤️ It's wonderful to hear that you have fond memories of Scandinavian furniture from your home in the 1960s. It's amazing how certain pieces of furniture can hold such sentimental value. I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the piano music as well- selecting the music is one of my favourite elements. Thank you for your kind wishes, and sending warm hugs right back to you! xx
The Scandinavian style is a wonderful way to combine textures, colours and design to achieve simplicity and functionality. I've always loved this type of decor which is so versatile allowing modern pieces to work well with vintage and antique. Thanks Suzie for this enjoyable video!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Mixing in rustic or antique accents with modern elements can definitely add character and warmth to a space. I would definitely do the same :) xx
Thank you for your interest in our videos! Decorating in the French style with just black and white can create a stunning and sophisticated look that is often seen in Parisian style. We may be doing an updated Parisian style soon which we will cover further xx
You're absolutely right about Scandi style often leaning towards neutrals and textures, but adding a pop of colour as an accent is often used to breathe new life into the aesthetic! Thanks for noticing, and I'm glad you found it surprising in a good way xx
I've always wondered about this. No color originated in a place where the landscape is almost colorless for the majority of the year? It doesn't sound likely, does it?
Thank you for sharing your perspective. Warmth and coziness are indeed integral aspects of Scandinavian style. I recommend watching our video on 'Hygge' (ua-cam.com/video/ECyADpNmO3o/v-deo.html), which delves deeper into this concept. It's important to clarify that our video focuses specifically on the 'Scandinavian design style,' which is now recognised globally. As with any design approach, it's essential to consider factors like the time of year, climate, and personal decor preferences :)
Thanks for sharing Dottie! Perhaps it's precisely because of this contrast that Scandinavians embrace colourful accents and layered textures in their surroundings. It could be a way to bring warmth, vitality, and a sense of cheerfulness into their homes during the long, dark winters. Overall I do believe Scandinavian design offers a beautiful counterbalance, infusing spaces with brightness and energy xx

Thanks for joining the live chat! xx
I was surprised to see colors, as I thought Scandi was all neutral with lots of texture.
