I love how Ben said “I can’t save him.” He was telling the truth. Saving Ian would have been too dangerous. He can’t save Ian unless he wanted others to be hurt.
Yeah ,you’re telling me. The most sad thing is that this fucking reporter Ian was only thinking about the benefits (money) and the celebrity that the discovery of the sirens/mermaids could bring him instead of appreciate the discovery itself or thinking about the consequences of revealing it.
I know that leaving him to die was an imorally choice to do, but you have to admit, everything in Ben’s vision would have come true if Ian had survived
Leaving someone behind to die is never right. It doesn't matter if there is a vision or a dream or a smoke sign that this person will burn the Earth. You'll never know for sure. Even if it is possible, you'll have the advantage of being one step ahead. It's funny that shows like that create a plot climax in which people feel inclined to disregard another person's life so easily.
That’s a classic too fool the audience ( in French , my usual langage , we call that “ un cas d’école “) like the visions and premonitions in “Final Destination” saga or “Total Recall”.
I’ve never felt so alone I fell in love with all three of them and seeing Maddie like that and ryn and Ben screaming as foul humans hurt them is sickening
It's like during a near death experience,,,people in heaven for years in only minutes of being dead then they come back. When you have a memory do you relive the whole memory? Nope. But you know the story, and what happened . It may not be played out like the show but still it's a vision. If you have a vision then it's like a "download" of information. It's like on a computer you download something that's huge in only minutes or even seconds. So the writing here was just brilliant and I've never seen writing like this before !
Ian did kidnap Rin and was about to murder Ben by running him over, no remorse, so I'm glad Ben let him die. Ian was too crazy and untrustworthy to let live.
Can people just except that ian would have exposed the secret if he lived. Like he would of he kidnapped rynn and tried to run over Ben you'd he would keep the secret he went that far to get rynn
I don’t think Ben was down there that long, I think when he saw Ian, it was just a quick thought “If I let him go, then this will happen” and he made the final choice to leave him
Siren Screenwriter, Please don't ever kill Maddie, Ben, Ryn, or Helen. You are welcome to kill any of the other characters. Edit: Oh, and please don't kill Levy neither 😅😅😅

Ain't no "almost" --- they COMPLETELY bamboozled me!! Well . . . I guess almost. Cuz by the time they were surrounded in the shack, I'm like, there's no way for them to get out of this unless Run sings to the army people & scrambles their brains, but then I said, no. Cuz Ben & Maddie would hear it & they'd be fucked up too. But by the time Maddie got shot, I was like, there's no way out of the situation @ this point & I know they wouldn't write Maddie out of the show cuz the story would fall apart & so would viewership. We were already pissed Ryn's sister Donna got killed off in the 1st season.

Ben should not have to be haunted and feel guilty about leaving Ian to drown. Ian had kidnapped Ryn, AND was actually going to run Ben over and kill him... all for a story. Ian brought it all on himself. In fact, if I was in Ben's shoes, I wouldn't have even bothered to jump in after him.
@@yousup2667 It's not about whether he's allowed to; it's that he shouldn't, allowed or not. Ian was about to run Ben over before Ryn took the wheel, & Ben should have saved his ass less than a minute later?? This has nothing to do with revenge. Ben had to think about the consequences of saving one life responsible for committing a VERY immoral action (Ian kidnapping Ryn), that would have cost thousands of Innocents their lives, over letting that one life perish to save thousands of innocents. My problem through out the episode with what happened was it's portrayal of every god damn human except Ben and Maddie are all suddenly steaming piles of shit. Xander helping capture a mermaid? Ben and Maddie's father's helping arrest their kids? The fucking Holocaust all over again?!? That's mainly what makes me sure that this was all just representative of what Ben assumed would happen, because we as humans have a tendency to blow things out of proportion in our minds. Regardless, Ian had it coming. Even with no vision I was hoping Ben would just give him the finger down there.
@🌸Sakura🌸 a representation of fear is basically what I said. Sander and Maggie's father were neither military nor rich And I'm not sure why you think the military are separate from everyone else.

It wasn't immoral. He let one person die to protect his loved ones and all merpeople. The world is better off without Ian.
