Hey Robbie, been dropping a lot of comments on your older videos but they are just great. The weather is so nice that my local courses are packed. I’ve been practicing these 100-200ft shots in the park using the techniques you taught in this video and it HAS made a huge difference in my game. I take my basket and put in the trees or behind benches to practice different shot shapes. This has made me much more confident after less than ideal drives. Thanks again dude! You rule!
Picked up a few “It” molds for me and my sons live today and y’all they look great. Perfect stamp and disc selection for a Robbie C first drop. Congrats again on the signature stamp Robbie! (And the successful sellouts!)Wishing you many more to follow.
Robbie this is starting to get pretty scary. I don't know how you do it, but you are consistently putting out videos on the exact topic I'm thinking about. Keep it up love the videos.
Your channel has helped me understand this game so much better. And given me so many helpful hints to think about. I’m so appreciative of all you do brother.
Scored a Robbie C stamped disc this afternoon and just realized they sold out in about 5 hours. Now I wish I had bought my own “precious child” pig. Keep ‘em coming!
I have never heard the idea of your life being an uncut key and each decision makes a cut that opens some doors and not others. Great thought that hopefully I will never forget. Came here to learn more about disc golf and to improve and got a life lesson as a bonus. Thanks for all you do.
So newer player here, knew my arm speed wasn't great so I leaned in on mids and fairway drivers and would test the drivers occasionally to see if I got up to speed (got their in Feb after starting in Aug). But, I did keep 3 driver in my bag for specific shots and it is because no other disc in my bag could replicate those shots. So for the new players out there: have a reason for your discs for shots, don't just hope and pray, build confidence in you distance and shape. And as you progress your shot/distance/shape will change as you get better, and you have to reevaluate them and possibly up grade. A friend helped with a rounding issue recently and I've gained over 40 feet on my drive, which is cause me to have to disc down for shots so moving to a putter for some shots I'd use a mid on or using a mid when I'd use a fairway driver. Additionally my disks now act a little different because I can throw them faster so the shape happens at a different angle. Some discs need a little bit more hyzer now. But sucking to get better is great, and doing an all putter round had improve my game significantly. And I'll be doing another putter round this weekend to help improve my game, but also improve my friends game.
Great stuff Robbie. I've given away a bunch of putters to people new to disc golf, telling them to just throw that for a while; that it's a great way to learn. Then I walk away with my full bag, knowing that I didn't do that myself, but at the same time, being so reluctant to take the step back and relearn. Well, after doing a bunch of early tournaments to get points for Am Worlds, which was my main goal for the year, I was thinking, maybe now is the perfect time to throw only putters. One of the keys for me is to have a goal in mind. I want to be a markedly better disc golfer for Worlds next year. So for me, this is a 9 or more month process. I think dialing back to putters only, for at least 3 months, or more, will be the foundation. I think I can improve, and smooth out my form, get more consistent, improve my course management (big one there), and learn to be confident using the slowest disc to achieve the goal. If I wind up gaining distance on my mids and drivers as a result, well, that's great, but not the be all end all. If I gain accuracy and consistency, that's the ticket! Funny thing, I thought I had a break in tournaments, but I decided to try to get in to The San Francisco Safari. When I told my wife, she said, "are you going to play it with putters only?" I laughed at first, but then thought, hey, I'm committed to the process, so yes. Who knows how I'll do, but even if I finish dead last, it's going to be a bit like you said about bragging rights, the power play of showing up to the first tee with a bag of putters.
I just wanted to say thank you for always producing concise and understandable content. Speaking as someone who jumped straight at the big numbers on the discs I appreciate the skills and topics you have covered in the last couple of years. Really appreciate it!
Great content. Over the winter worked in putter upshots and putting and easy took 6 stokes off an 18 hole course. Im working on using putters for tight fairway drives. Need to throw straight. Better shorter and straight than longer and off fairway
I'm 65 and just started playing disc golf last year. I learned to keep that wrist above the elbow watching a Uli upshot video. I could pretty much park the upshots every time. The last month or so my upshots started going a bit haywire. After watching this video I realized that I'm definitely using too many levers, aka not keeping my wrist up. Going out in an hour for some practice. My next problem is which of my 29 putters to use for upshots and which to putt with 😂 Thanks for the videos Robbie!!
Ive been playing a long time, but, i decided last fall to basically start over from scratch. All new discs, all new form, and speaking out guidance and wisdom. Its going alright
Thank you! Niiiiice content, as always. I’ve learned so much from you lately. my putting and my confidence levels have totally increased since we met at that NE DG expo here in MA. I was that old dude that you encouraged me to sign up for the Putting tournament. WoopWoop that was so fun.😎 Robbie, you’re great. You LISTENED to all my ranting and shared the best putting input I could ever have. As old an stubborn as I am, I still applied your wisdom 🦉 to the basket.😉 For real! Have fun with practice and it doesn’t even feel like practice. My up-shot practice game is, taking Ollie, the dog, for his run out at the pits behind my house. I have two putters… Pure&aPolecat, or Pure&aPig,orPure&aSonic. I find a target throw a backhand Pure shot, walk about half way there, find another target and throw a forehand Pig..and walk to my first putter and pick it up and repeat for a mile or so.I Mix it up, like throw forehand goin out and backhand on the way home.Ollie loves me 🐶.
Your content never dissapoints. I was hoping you could help me out with something. I get the concept of "not letting go of the disc", but how can i control the point of release at the same time? I'd really love your insight on how to get the disc to rip out at 10o'clock
Hi Robbie, First of all, thank you so much for all your videos! I am new to disc golf (only about 4 months), and your videos have made literally all the difference in the world! They have taken me from being miserable, lost and wanting to give up and instead helped me grow and learn to enjoy it and how to improve. After watching your videos on putting, I've made it a point to go out and get about 200 putts every day, and can now sink about 80% of my putts from 25ft and in! I am wanting to continue improving on this and as I slowly move out away from the basket, and in an attempt to get more strokes in, I was wondering.... When practicing my putts, can I use my other discs as well, or should I stick to practicing with the putters?
I was just talking to a fellow disc golfer about having problems with this. Thanks for the perfectly timed advice. Also I just went and checked out Foundation and your discs are already sold out! 😮
I hated throwing putter upshots till I found yours and Mikes instructions about the wrist as a lever. The only thing I have to change is I use a pinch grip instead of power-grip when doing it. The power-grip causes my putters to go way right, but I'm slowly removing my reliance on side-arm up shots for these type of bent wrist putter shots. It also lets me run them more often because its easy to do nose up shots.
What do you recommend for someone who can't stand the way a putter feels , don't like the way they feel in my hands for throwing. Always end up throwing a crave for short shots.
Whenever I feel like I'm plateauing/ losing critical thinking on the course, I reset with a putter round. No better way to level out and remember the fundamentals. 🤙🤙🤙
Josh's "out and in" approach arm swing works at 3/4 open to basket stance, i.e. you'll fire about 15-20 degrees left if you are sideways (fully closed) to basket, which you were, Robbie. Josh said he was "just barely showing" his shirt's left side chest logo to the basket, making him about 3/4 open. Or is that 1/2 open if sideways is fully closed? In photography, the pose is 3/4 view, I think? Anyway, I tried Josh's swing yesterday a lot and it feels a bit strange but mostly resolves the sideways or straight, drivish or puttish, question on stance for close in approach shots. I used to look like T-1000 in his mortal molten metal vat trying to decide which stance until yesterday. Less crazy now. Thanks Josh.
Innova "IT" is the Leopard4, and they should have just called it that. 1mm added rim width to the L3, making it one speed up (even though marketing didn't classify it as a speed 8, it actually is a speed 8 with it's 18mm rim).
I went to order an IT on Foundation, but only 2 light weight options are available. Are all the other colors and weights sold out already? I left a comment earlier but it doesn't show up here in the comments. Update: Now I see all discs are sold out. Did they only make a few of each disc?
@@RobbieCDiscgolf I hope to catch the next drop. I've watched a lot of your videos and have learned a lot from you. Putters can be thrown nose up and often should be thrown a bit nose up. Also DO NOT POWERGRIP YOUR PUTTERS. I love the newer intro style with the "important question" at the starts
I'm thinking they are all Patreons that he is giving a shout out to.

Putters are life. I played half a season with putters only and it's the best thing I've ever done for my game. Within 200' its putters all day

Ayo love to see the war pigeon in this love that disc its amazing

Thank you sir.
Man I have a champion It and I absolutely love it and use it a ton. It's a great disc. I hope you sell a ton of those, they're great
I freakin love throwing putters. It's so fun. Star Colts and Envys (various plastics) are my go-tos.
I have those exact same Goodrs 🎉
For the next run, I think we need a polecat!
He needs to take the belt from Proctor!!
nice set of hooters you got there
Hey Robbie, where'd you get those rad sunglasses? I got the purple and teal smack disc golf bag for Xmas and those glasses would match it perfectly
Goodr!! Be sure to use our Foundation code for free shipping!
Need to get some Robie Discs to dye !❤

I MISSED THE DROP! hecking poop bro
But the vid was fire
I live by learning how to throw everything together
So question about my grip . I grip every disc with my pointer finger on the rim of the disc . Is this a bad thing?
bro!! is this in Arlington TX?

There's Different Strokes for different folks you do you
My local courses longest hole is 230ft. All I use are putters. My problem is driver shots over 300ft.
10 hours after you uploaded, the discs are sold out😢
Congratulations! I'll try and grab one on the next run.
I throw my Pure off the tee all the time. The throwing putter is a vital disc in any bag.
Will these discs come back? I’m just seeing this and want the robbie c collection
Already planning the next batch!
Hey Robbie, I was just wondering what your putting putter is?
For 2023 the internet chose Lunas for me to putt with!
Innova "IT" is the Leopard4, and they should have just called it that.
1mm added rim width to the L3, making it one speed up (even though marketing didn't classify it as a speed 8, it actually is a speed 8 with it's 18mm rim).
Also, what is a front loaded grip? Thinking this may be part of the reason why I'm hard stuck at 300 feet.
Keep up the work. I was stuck at 300 for awhile. Put in time, and also smart time. You will see progress.
I’m not sure what he is talking about but he might mean where you should be holding disc while pulling it through.
I've been throwing alot of mids and putters and love it but have problem with going to drivers, I never get the same smooth form
Are you keeping your wrist curled when you pull your shot through??
@@jeffheyer7783 Not that I know, it's more like I strong arm it whenever I throw drivers
Looks like you’re sold out on foundation bro! Bummed I missed it but congrats on selling out!
Love the video keep up the good work. The one thing is I don't think we need to encourage the "I threw a putter" guys.
Hey if they have the skill to back it up lol… but usually people that do aren’t trying to brag

Can we stop saying "speed" when it relates to a disc? It does not exist. Rim size and wing profile, yes, but there is no objective use of the term "speed" as it relates to discs.
Slower speed discs fly, objectively, slower through the air than faster speed discs.
Plus slower speed diss you don't have to throw as hard or they'll just turn over faster the speed faster you have to throw it to make the correct flight path I'm just curious what don't you get about that?
