      Yeah, im not sure about that. I have a Sony A95L, and LG C2 and C9. All of them are awesome and as I type this now watching Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind on my LG C9 (which has moved to our basement). Watching on my LG C9 I don't feel like I'm missing any brightness or color. Is the A95A technically a better tv, YES, but that doesnt mean you wont enjoy and not feel FOMO from watching on any older OLED. All OLED is good OLED.

    Own 2023 48 MZ1800 Panasonic for a bedroom TV.
    Stand is Japan award winning center pivot that can be rotated a bit and tilted a bit, but suction cups the table top, as in Japan is at risk for heavy earthquakes.
    I have this TV mounted on a dresser and it is solid.

    FOMO, will you be testing the W95A? There are two things I'm especially curious about: 1) how effective local dimming is in game mode, and 2) what the PWM flicker rate is, and if it varies between different picture modes.

      I just bought a Panasonic Z95A 55ins in NZ a few days ago. Started off at 5k, then 4.6k, then 4K, then 3.7k. Guess what I cheekily offered them a 3 000 NZ dollars and they accepted it. Couldn’t believe it. That converts to UK 1400 pounds.
      Also I think it’s cheaper in NZ than the USA, but I’m unsure. But yes it sounds very overpriced in the United Kingdom.
      Cheers.

    Back in the plasma days it came down to Panasonic or Samsung for me. I was sad when Panasonic left the US market. Sony has been my recent tv brand of choice because they have had the best processing and out of the box picture without have to mess with changing a lot of settings. Panasonic TV's have this same type of reputation so I am so glad they are back in the game in the US and it's going to make my future buying decision very interesting. I am glad to hear you are going to start doing your tv reviews by no longer calibrating the TV's. Most people are not getting there TV's calibrated so reviews should be more meaningful for most consumers in my opinion.

    • @halodave
      @halodave 2 місяці тому

      Yes but the people watching these types of videos likely are calibrating I think?
      I also have a Panasonic from 2012 so I'm die for an upgrade but man this thing is a beast and only 1080p

    • @kommandantklink5032

      @@halodave Not sure about that especially as Fomo's channel as grown? The people I know watching Fomo's videos are not calibrating there TV's but that is just my circle of friends. With so many TV's to pick from they are looking for a starting point and for Fomo to narrow the field down and depending on their use case it could narrow down their choice further? Fomo's buying guide comes in very handy for them. That is why they watch his videos then they go out and look at the actual TV's they are interested in based on Fomo's recommendations. Most probably spend anywhere from $1,000 to $2,000 on a TV (maybe up to $2,500) so they are what I call Mid-Tier buyers. They don't see big differences in picture quality between Mid-Tier & Top Tier and even if they do they see a big price difference which knocks them out of the top tier game anyway. Again this is just the circle of people I know. Some people ask me what good TV can I get for $500. I just laugh.

    Hi Fomo, I am happy to see Panasonic tvs back in the U.S. market. I watched Brian’s video interview with the Panasonic rep and it was pretty exciting. I see a lot of comments about qd oled. I’ve been watching your channel and others for a while now. From everything I know and have seen I think qd oled vs w oled is not any kind of a game changer for me. There are things to me that are far more important than what type of oled tech it is. I don’t have to go any further to prove this than the very fact that your buddy Brian has a Sony w oled sitting in his house instead of qd oled. You have stated many times that the G4 is your pick this year. The tvs of today are so good that any of the mid to upper tier would not be disappointing. I think processing, build quality and size are far more important. I will say I would only buy an oled though. I know that there are great mini leds but to me oled in general is king. I do want 83” or bigger though. When I sit in my room and watch my 83” w oled I am very satisfied. I would never know any different unless I had another model sitting in that room right beside it. In the near future I will definitely be looking for an upgrade and Panasonic will be one I look at. What I have heard about their dark scene picture quality has me seriously interested. It is the one drawback of my LG. Well, I could say more but there’s my 2 cents. Thanks for all the latest in this tech market, I really get a lot out of you and Brian’s videos. One last thing, I would like to upgrade my q990c sound bar. I have really leaned towards a Nachimichi Dragon for some time but I hear really good things about the bravia quad theater system also. Money is no obstacle, what would you advise?

    Very excited for the return of Panasonic here in the states. But I'm confused why they chose W-OLED MLA vs QD-OLED. MLA gets bright, thats great, but colors on QD-OLED are next level

    • @mexdrago3009
      @mexdrago3009 2 місяці тому

      qd is better, and the colors are better for sdr content, but when watching 4k hdr ci content, they all have accurate colors. Now, if you increase color saturation even on qled, you will get red skin tones. If the panasonic 5:5 pull-down judder truly is judder less, then it's a game changer.

    • @michael-4k4000
      @michael-4k4000 2 місяці тому +6

      Honestly, they are both great. Have a Sony A95L and a C2 and I love them both. Yes the colors are slightly brighter on the sony, but not one person in my family can tell the difference between the C2 and A95L, obviously I can, but no one else. So I don't agree that QD-OLED is that much better, I think I better way of stating it is that they are different. QD-OLED has brighter colors, and WB-OLED has brighter whites. Either way they still are both OLED. Comparing an oled tv to another oled tv is fine, they share about 95% of the same features.

    Will be very interesting now that Sony no longer makes the 83" A90J and its current flag ship is the 77" A95L QD-OLED so hope to see in the Future a 83" QD-OLED and above from Sony and Panasonic will offer 83" and above W-OLED. But if things heat up between Sony and Panasonic, Sony and Panasonic could both start to produce W and QD OLED with their World Renowned Picture processing. Hopefully this will be a win-win for the manufacturer and the consumers and increase sales and drive down the cost and see a more affordable 97” and above OLED. This will only force the Chinese to produce bigger and bigger LED TV’s to compete. One then could have an OLED AND LED TV in the home. I have the SONY 83" A90J and 85” X900H so it's only worth buying a 97’ OLED and not worth buying the bigger LED until the 115” is affordable, But until all the SMOKE Settles I am just going to buy a Projector and turn my garage into a Living Room Home theater since it is 20”x20” and do a 150” to 200” Screen hopefully.
