I have been trying diligently for several days using another source to tie this knot with no success. I carefully followed the instructions in this video and was successful. Thank you and my wife also thanks you.
Starting @1:33, you made 7 wraps around the dowel rod. I'm curious why it's always an odd number of initial wraps. All the other TH knot tutorials I've seen also start with an odd number of wraps around the core. Any ideas of why that is? However, with the *2 bight* TH knot, it doesn't seem to matter.
after watching number of videos on UA-cam,i finally learning to understand watching ur videos on turkshead knot.still confused about bytes...what's it? ha ha ha...thanks for video...

Excellent video tutorial. Thank you for sharing.
Is there a video where you add a different color cord?
Is there an interweave for this?

I've asked this questions on other channels, but havent' gotten a response.... What always an _odd_ number of initial wraps around mandrel or object?
Hey there!
Can you rephrase the question a bit?
Mark

@@Paracordguild I think meaning wrapping with odd numbers rather than even ones... like 3, 5, 7, etc. as opposed to 4, 6, 8 wraps.

A "bight" is where the cord changes direction; i.e. @1:53 Mark is creating the first of three bights, albeit it's on the bottom of the mandrel.
it's a loop
