If the LPL makes his way down to Texas, breaks into my storage facility and attempts to steal my fifth wheel....then it would make for a great video on both my channel and his :)
Yeah. Now you show me this after I bought the cheap one. Can you send THE BOSS a note that I NEED to purchase one. 😉. Thank you for the great review and information.
With the Reese Sidewinder, I figured they would need the wrench and socket to remove the wedge along with the two massive bolts to secure the pinbox. They can try all they want but without the same hitch it will just bounce and never latch. Someday though I plan to put a pin lock on, just haven't decided on which one, and if they drive onto my property, they will meet with resistance they won't like at all.
I basically have the same question as others pertaining to the slider hitch wedge attached to the pin box on a Grand Design 150 Series. The wedge is 1/2 inch thick at least and It fits close to tight to the King pin. Will this lock fit with the wedge in place?? thanks
I’m in the market for a new trailer lock and am keen on ordering one from Fort Knox. As you’ve had experience with both Fort Knox and PI what are your experiences with both and would you recommend one over the other?
I guess because i'm insured and out in the sticks im not too worried about somebody taking my fiver you're gonna need the battery off the charger to even get the 6 point landing gear up
Great video JD 1 quick question I have a 2019 ram 2500 Crew cab with the 6.4 hemi On rams website I enter the Vin it says I have 2941 pounds of payload and 14440 towing is that conventional or goose neck it does not specify Any info would be greatly appreciated thanks
I'M NOT SURE IF MY QUESTION HAS ALREADY BEEN ANSWERED OR NOT, BUT...WHY WOULD A TRUCK-DRIVER NEED THIS GADGET FOR THEY'RE 5TH-WHEEL...I'M NEW @ TRUCK-DRIVING & I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY IT WOULD BE NEEDED
Absolutely love your videos, do a fun one on subscribers guessing the manufacture of your new RV(: I think you gave it away today(: I've seen a lot of sub. guess's but My guess is New Horizons Majestic M42IK6S (:
Brother, sir, I love your video that you put out but I will have to say that I'm going to have to stop watching you, lol, every time you come on and bring a new product that is good for rv's I want to buy it so man you're messing me up, lol. Okay now that I got that out of the way I went to their website some time ago looking for a good lock for my 5th wheel and I think at the time they didn't have anything but now I see that they do. I will probably get one and install one on my fiver when I store it because I have the PullRite Superlite 1P 5th wheel hitch I just need to take it off when I not using it for a long time but I will go to the site and order one. Great video keep up the work. BTW: I want be able to get a 5th wheel like yours but the other small things I'm on it, lol.
I think this is a gadget for a non existent problem. I have been in this game a LONG time and have never heard of anyone stealing a fifth wheel. Pretty hard to sell a stolen fifth wheel and what their has a truck and hitch that can move a 5th wheel. If anyone has any proof of a 5th wheel being stolen please post a link to it.
Hello. I sent a message on Facebook messenger. I know your busy, but I would appreciate your answers to my questions. I really am interested to hear what you have to say.
Correction: They were able to order an Abloy cylinder with the same keying as my Abloy keys. Abloy cylinders can not be rekeyed.
We have their lock on our travel trailer, it's amazing in how well it was built. Only lock I would recommend.
I wonder what the Lock Picking Lawyer would say about this unit.
He's a fan of Abloy's locking mechanism so this would probably be a recommendation from him, but of couse he'd still be able to get into it with time.
Haha you beat me to the LPL comment.
I rely on LPL for my lock suitability as well...

I pulled up the comments to say this same thing.

Love these locks, have place one on both our trailers.
I have the very best lock. I never unhook it from the truck!
Nice, but I think they should reposition the set screw to face the bolster plate. One additional step of security I think
So excited to see the new rv that is being made. It will be awesome just because JD has something to do with it. 😁

I'm assuming this would not work with the PullRite SuperGlide, because of the tab behind the pin would prevent the lock from going all the way up.
I would like to see something that will work with the Anderson hitch.
Kind of similar to the Enforcer lock that I use. Heavy and unbreakable with the abloy lock.
Nice job JD!
Maybe paint it yellow or orange to better stand out? Lest ye forget it is place and try to connect...
Would like to use one, but we also use a tripod when parking for several days. Will a tripod collar fit over the welded end?
I wonder if it will still fit with a SuperGlide capture plate in place?

Btbrv please don't give up pointers to thieves about removing the screw that hold cylinder in place 😂😂😂😂
Looks like a heavy crow bar can bust it ???

I have a tracking device in my rig I feel bad for the person who takes my rig for a ride ...to prison!
Just curious, what, if anything, did you use to secure your Reese Goosebox? And any recommendations for a lock for the Andersen hitch?

@@MichaelArtelle thanks I'll look
Will that lock work with a Pullrite super glide capture plate?
You have a lock for the unnamed, being built, new fifth wheel, does that mean that you are not going back to the Reese Goosebox? Can you say why?
Not immediately. I'll likely add a Goosebox in the future.

Where is the link to buy this?
$250 to protect a $90,000 trailer is not a bad deal. Probably doesn't come close to the insurance deductible either.
$250 is chump change for a highend 5th wheel.
My fifth wheel is parked at my acreage, I just remove the entire pin box. Problem solved.
Good

If it has value and it CAN be stolen, it eventually WILL be stolen. Sad but true.

$225......?????!!!!
