Peter Graves really is the Peter Graves of his generation
Accept no substitutes. Lol
My favourite part of this was when Peter Graves was Peter Graves. He really sold the being Peter Graves of it all.
My favorite part was when Peter Graves said "It's Peter Graves time!" and then proceeded to Peter Graves those guys.
That is most likely the most likely sentence ever written. So accurate in its accuracy. Peter Graves would be as honored to read it as I was. Thank you
That says a lot.
The Peter Graves in a car ballad is solid gold, destined to be a hit.
I have new road trip music!
I laughed so hard I missed a lot of what was happening on screen.
My favorite Peter Graves will always be the guy blasting what seemed like Yoko Ono music at grasshoppers who kept slipping off the postcard depiction of a skyscraper into Lake Michigan in "The Beginning of the End." *sigh*
@@jayjaycajun3701 Postcard grasshoppers are an amazing movie meme.
Those stretches of long, absolutely pointless, painful just existing to fill time scenes really can bring out their best sometimes.
The montage of Peter Graves driving & walking places almost broke me
Me too 🤣
Peeeeeter Graves ... he got out A-A-ND walked! XD
@@daffers2345 sing it!
I’m so glad Peter Graves was in this. Nobody else could be Peter Graves like he was.
I'm barely finished thanking rifftrax for the last full movie they added...I feel like I don't deserve this generosity.
It's the gift that keeps on giving.
beautiful black gift
They make plenty from selling these too, I think
You can always slide some dosh into their tip jar when you're flush.
Yeah they mentioned donating to their cause.
DEAR GOD! The raw emotion of a Peter Graves in bristling international spy action!!? what MORE could and audience in the 70s want??
It's amazing that they made this entire movie out of B-roll footage.
Was actually waiting for Peter Graves to ask that kid if he liked gladiator movies
I greatly enjoyed "she's about to see a grown man naked".
"Joey, do you like movies about weapons of mass destruction?"
"Joey do you like movies full of filler scenes"
"Joey, you ever see a grown man sit on a broken roulette table?"
🤣🤣
"Have you ever seen a message self-destruct?"
Wait, where am I?
"Joey... Is it comforting to know my left arm is with you while you sleep in the cabin?"
I'm not sure why but the name Peter Graves is so pleasing to the ear. It's a name that rolls off the tongue and doesn't outstay it's welcome
I don't hate the new MST3K seasons rapid-fire approach, but I do appreciate Mike and the crew giving some time between riffs to let them breathe.
It’s all quality over quantity imo
I guess I don’t hate the new mst3k people. I just don’t care about them. It’s not funny.
@@emilinebelle7811 mac and is pretty good, I think.
Never seen it and probably never will... I'm trying not to tarnish the legacy of one of my favorite TV shows in my mind. Good thing both crews still have content that's new to me.
@@rogue-like4life You should at least watch Cry Wilderness (episode 1102), then decide whether to watch any more.
IMDb says that the Iranian actress who played the head policewoman was in Iran when the revolution hit, having chosen to stay, and was imprisoned for over a year, and although not officially forced to give up acting chose not to act again. She’d been very active in Iranian cinema though only in a few international productions. Ouch.
It's sad watching the last days of Pre-Revolutionary Iran.
Used to date an Iranian girl. Her mother and grandmother went to university, had short skirts and even somehow sexy clothes in their old pictures. A couple years later they were dressed like nuns and couldn't go out with their heads uncovered. Crazy stuff
Religion sucks
I firmly believe that any movie that has at least a little 'waka chika' in it can't be all bad.
What’s that?
@@emilinebelle7811 The funky music.
I thought the same before I watched this
Heh. Tom Servo said the same thing about Mitchell's opening, iirc. :P
"Shut your mouth!"
Loving the special guest appearance by John Carradine's chair, which as an added bonus has John Carradine in it for part of the time.
This is the wildest episode of the Golden Girls I've ever seen . Blanche sure won over Peters character very fast at the Iranian casino I must say.
😂
It's Mehdur She Wrote
Have you seen the Rifftrax that stars the actress who played Blanche?
It was Black & White, from the 50's, I think. I can't remember the name of the movie. Damn!
It's finally happened, I've run out of space on the mental hard drive.
I'll have to pick up some extra memory, to put all the crazy movies in!
Hate when that happens. Anyway, she was f i n e, fine, in that flic! And I cant beleive I just said that. Lol
Cheers from Canada
I do declare !
@@steveharvey2102 The film's called Hollywood After Dark, starring a young Rue McClanahan. And yes, you can see her tits in one of the scenes
19:10 What a musical masterpiece guys . I played it everyday at work. Maybe not the smartest idea on the loud speaker, but I did enjoy my time at Publix.
Impossible! Who would have guessed Captain Over was an international man of mysteries!? ;)
Was Agent Over an agent working Under Dunn?
Roger.
Gee I’ve never seen a casino built from folding tables and chairs before. It’s just hilarious how it only took one brawl to dismantle all the furniture.
you know how they call this movie in France?
_Casino Royale with Cheese_
19:10 The "Peter Graves" song... one of my favorite Rifftrax moments.
they were on point with the song!
Same! Whenever I rewatch this riff, I tend to rewind and rewatch the song part a few times.
Time stamp appreciation...engage! 😂😂🤣🤣Riveting.
If my little play managed to convince just one person, that Peter Graves went to the university of Minnesota.... then I've done my job
Does that count as a "Deep cut?" Or does it have to be a Rifftrax film for that?
Hmm, I wonder.
Cheers from Canada
Hi, I’m Peter Graves.
"I'm Peter Graves, and I was wondering if you could direct me to the natatorium, as I am attending a swim meet."
Gunfight At Old Guy Corral just about killed me lol
Looks like I wasn't the only one...
Peter Graves went to the University of Minnesota. I think he was particularly fond of the natatorium
He really did enjoy some good natured ribbing with his many pals at the University of Minnesota.
Someone should really write a biopic about that man.
@@bobbob465 I bet three acts wouldn't be enough. You would need more than a dozen
Was it him or his clone that made giant locusts?
19:11 kicks off the funniest sequence I've seen RiffTrax do in years. 3 minutes of pure comedy gold!
"He takes a wallet out, and looks at it!"
Ah, how sad it is to see Iran before the Revolution. If only we had maintained our international friendship based on our love of flared pants and shame at being involved in this movie.
Going by the 1979 release date on this dog of a film, it's more Iran during the Revolution than before it. They had to have been filming in 1978.
@@richmcgee434 Damn! Wish Peter Graves had stepped in.
To think that Peter Graves single-handedly brought about the fall of Iran.
(On a more serious note, I was thinking the same thing. I hope Iran returns to those more-liberal days).
@@richmcgee434Right. The only movie being “filmed” in Iran in 1979 was Argo.
Ayatollah Somebody: THE SHAH'S GONE TOO FAR THIS TIME! CARRADINE?
"A sexually spent Peter Graves" is a riff that never stops being hilariously disturbing.
Geriatric thrusting!
The best Turkish Bath scene was cut from Airplane!
Were you overpowered by it? Thank you, I'm Peter Graves.
Thanks Rifftrax for all you do!
One of the top 5 episodes of MST3k/Rifftrax. An absolute classic! Thank you for uploading!
I want the Peter Graves song on my playlist.
Between this AND Hillbillies in a Haunted house? I'm set for falling asleep for like 3 weeks! Thanks, Rifftrax!
Was not expecting the Swamp of the Ravens reference in this but I am here for it.
My favorite song ever, too.
Those Carradines are always a treat in every film one of them pops up in. You always hope to see one just hanging around
Oof
you sir, are a despicable human being. Take my like and get out
How do they keep getting roped into these films?
Can y'all quit the Carradine jokes? You're strung up in them.
I try not to get too hung up on them.
From around 20:00 You know, I've gone most of my life wondering about how Peter Graves moves through time and space. And now I have my answers.
I wish we all could live in "Gravesland". Endless casino fistfights, fighting evil, saving the world, & gathering a harem of ladies from American tennis courts to Tehran hotels. 1:06:41 great peaking
I'd settle for just gathering a harem of ladies....
Wow, you guys are posting most of my faves for free. Bless you all!
The late german actor curd jurgens, famously known as karl stromberg- ocean villian in the 007 film the spy who loved me, who was also cardinal braschi in caligliostro - is now prominently featured in this film...wow😂
I almost got a hernia laughing at the Peter Graves song. 😂
I liked the energy surge for "he opens another drawer".
Peter Graves would have made the most memorable queen of the cherry blossom festival. Too bad we never got to see that happen!
19:12 the best song
36:18 the most glorious fight in cinema history
The hit Rifftrax single 'Filler Activities and Peter Graves' featured at 19:20 is a fantastic secret bonus jam.
"sorry, when I put on a turtle neck I just turn into an ass kicking machine"😂
Why do these crummy films have such great soundtracks?!
The Neutron Bomb Incident -- the latest album from Missile X! Look for it wherever you kids get your music these days.
Now That's What I Call A Neutron Bomb Incident!
OMG, the director of Samurai Cop produced this movie !
Then you know it's quality. Lol
Samurai Cop was directed?!
@@phillip5245Samuri Cop wasn't directed. The guy who did the less Coke was in charge.
Congratulations for that extremely deep cut XTC reference 👏 👌
🎶Geriatric thrusting by Peter Graves🎶
This is the best musical I've ever seen
Roulette IS the checkers of gambling, shit that's so accurate
🤣🤣🤣
This one falls below "Parts: The Clonus Horror" in the list of quality on films Peter Graves appeared in.
According to wiki, "An international co-production between West Germany, Italy and Spain, much of filming took place on location in and around Tehran, Iran, in 1978 before the Iranian Revolution overthrew Iran's Shah."
"An international money laundering operation..."
Their budget only covered one white lab coat, and it was too small for Carradine.
I'm thinking they chose Graves as an 'action hero' due to Mission: Impossible, where he led the team that did the actual action (Peter Lupis was the muscle, Landau and Nimoy were masters of disguise, and Barbara Bain was... there). The only action heroing I remember Graves from was the end of Beginning of the End.
I laughed out loud often at this one, great stuff!
This movie is always on the brink of being a mediocre espionage thriller, but thank god the overall lack of any thrills whatsoever makes it a wonderful mess
Thank you! It was very bland.
It's really helped out by the utterly incompetent casting and wooden acting throughout, too. Keeps it safely below the threshold of mediocrity.
It did have a lot of really good environmental bullet squibs, they could have done even less and just made bullet sounds
55:37 When Joe Esteves is out of your price range, you get this guy.
Ha! I told hubby while watching this, you know this guy looks suspiciously like Joe Estevez and now I'm scarred for life.
I repeatedly watch this Riff while high. It just works. Not sure why. I think it's the disco boogie. And the world's most tiny nuclear warhead. 😊😅
Drinking game: Take a drink every time you hear "wakka-chikka-wakka" fight music and you find yourself instinctively saying "GUY FROM HARLEM!! UNH!"
I got TWO REASONS.
Wait, Peter Graves, John Carradine, AND Mel Novak?! This is too much B-movie goodness in one show!
this one would've been wonderful as a live show 😆
The movie or the Rifftrax?
This movie must be psychedelic because the music forces me to see images of harvest gold kitchen appliances, olive green shag carpeting, and burnt orange living room chairs.
"Tonight, on Biography..." ;)
YES! One of my favorites! The Peter Graves Jam lives!!!
The greatest assembly of AARP clients in cinema history!
I'm not sure which I like better: the Ballad of Peter Graves, or the "Walking Down the Stairs" music from Retro Puppet Master
RiffTrax led me to believe that only the first five minutes were free. I've been lied to DECEIVED!
Every scene is a chance to play “which one is recovering from a neurological illness, which one pulled an all-nighter at the local dive bar, and which one just finished his third double bourbon?”
It was the 70s - they _all_ just finished their third double bourbon. Even the policewoman.
That was very funny, thanks Rifftrax! I'm Peter Graves and this is Biography. Peter has been in at least four films riffed by these guys (MST3K and Rifftrax) I wonder if he was in more then four? Probably. Still not in as many films as riffed with John Carradine in them (I'm guessing 8 plus this one). It's also amazing to see "Iran" before the revolution! @25:28 a picture of the Shah! BTW, according to an IMdb reviewer, "Pouri, the actress who played the undercover police captain, didn't get out of Iran in time and spent a year in Islamic jail and never acted again."
I see you, RiffTrax, spoiling us again. ❤ Peter Graves went to which University? Lol
Castleton?
This plot, as well as this mission, was completely impossible.
The plot was Peter Graves
Nothing says tense espionage action/thriller like a jazz/funk fusion sound track...
The old person jokes are killing me! Oh, wait! That’s my type 2 diabetes and not this riff.
maybe save the comedy for those that are funny
@@slowery43bro....there's no need for that. It made me chuckle.
Thank you for the movie! I haven't seen your work in a while, but I've always known you were keeping it quality. You've helped me through rough spots, and I hope I can see you live someday.
oh i love this one! thank you, rifftrax!
I'm Peter Graves, and you read this comment in my voice.
I certainly did
Actually, I read it in the voice of Trace Beaulieu doing his Peter Graves impression. University of Minnesota.
1:03:11 "What a huge pile of *@!&" "I think that's just dirt." "Oh, I'm not talking about the dirt." 🤣
Genuine laugh out loud moment.
I’ve been singing this Peter Graves song for two weeks. I can’t stop.
10:50 John wasn't reading the script here; he was confused as to who the heck his character was and what he was doing there
So here's the question who's the worst agent: Peter Graves, Secret Agent Super Dragon, the Agent from H..A. R. M., or the guy from Danger Death Ray?
I'm expecting a lot of Mission: Impossible references. Please don't disappoint!
I want _"Airplane"_ references! "Billy; Have you ever seen a grown man naked?"
You got it. Even spent the night in a Turkish prison?
Luke, do you like movies about gladiators ?
No, why don’t you handle it, billy…
How did Peter Graves look the exact same in this movie as he did when he did Biography?
He probably had that same white hair in this 40's.
15:24 “Then they got back to locking up women who show too much ankle.”
Oooh, topical!
This is my favorite RiffTrax.
Does this star TV’s Peter Graves?
Perfect timing! How did you know I wanted to watch some riff?
so, in the title, if you look close, "missile x" is super-imposed as an afterthought, while "teheran incident" was already there (the "missile x" font is slightly different -- somebody clearly tried really hard to match it; and also the text doesn't wobble with the background like "teheran incident" does). does anybody know why?
I'm Peter Graves and tonight we will explore the Neutron Bomb called "Missile X" and how it relates to the Teheran Incident as Pete Teheran tells all, right here on A&E. Again, I'm Peter Graves, former student of the University of Minnesota.
I kind of like the organ music. It's like if Garth Hudson slammed a 6-pack of Red Bull and went to town
Stetson and The Baron, ah my favorite childhood in the 70s ABC Friday night sitcom featuring Gabe Kaplan and Red Foxx
Here as a refugee from the current Turkey Day marathon while they play a new season episode...man you guys are just funnier, period.
It was watching either this, or watching Australia stuff Scotland in the rugby. I chose this - I made the right decision. Well worth it, just for the Peter Graves song.
For a few seconds there I straight up thought that the Baron had played Luke Skywalker's dying Vader dad in "The Return of the Jedi." Glad I was wrong. I'd hate to think that even Darth Vader could be soulless enough to be in this turkey.🤪
Crouching Accountant, Hidden Customer Service Call Center Manager!
Curt Jurgens in
The Spy Who Bored Me
Hahaha Nosferatu got em makes me laugh way more than it should, just so subtle and perfect
That and queen of the cherry blossom festival actually cracked up the other guys which is really rare
I swear, he look like Leslie Nielsen in that thumbnail.
This movie would have been better with Leslie Nielsen because then it wouldn’t just be unintentionally funny.
Peter Graves AND John Carradine! This is the best movie ever!!11!111!! 🤪
19:20 that song..... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've heard that rumours of a sequel to this movie may have been responsible for the revolution.
The absurdity of this movie is perfect to watch if you have Covid-19 and are stuck home.
John Carradine!
Was he always a hundred years old?
GERIATRIC THRUSTING!!!
