Jess Roberts no I don’t think so because the kit is suppose to be just a bolt in system. I didn’t put mine in I had a company do it but they didn’t say it was difficult.
I could have used this in my 77 Trans Am . With a 3.08 posi rear and the Ram Air III engine I could bury the 160 mph speedo. But it wasn't as good in the 1/4 mile so I went with a 3.73 rear. My top end was just under 140 mph with that rear. This 6 speed would have been awesome and I could have stayed with the 3.73 gear set. We didn't have all the options you have today. My 91 ZR1 has the ZF 6S 40 six speed but the C7 Corvettes could be had with a 7 speed.
In the days of cheap fuel, there was less of an incentive to sink development costs into greater efficiency. Also, prior to the interstate highway system, efficiency at high speeds was neither necessary or a priority.
I didn't use a studio voiceover, I used audio recorded while driving around town, that's also why you can hear the car running while they're installing the transmission. We don't have labor estimates, there are too many variables: the experience of the person doing the job, the year/make/model of the vehicle, previous mods already performed to the vehicle, and on and on. It will be cheaper in parts and labor to convert from a manual to a manual than auto to manual. You can give your preferred shop a copy of our installation manual for the particular kit you're interested in and see if they're willing to give an estimate for the job, but classic cars often have surprises under the carpet and other hidden areas the mechanic may not take into consideration in his initial estimate. shiftsst.com/installation-manuals
