I cant help getting tense everytime sidious showed up in a scene. Even when i know whats going to happen with his plans its still unnerving to hear him talk about it
Cold shivers down our spines every time he shows and speaks
Ian McDiramid is just really good at sound evil
His presence carries weight. You know he is going to screw somebody over very badly, we just don't always know who or why.
I was kinda waiting to see him zap the Kaminoan lady. Not because I want her to die, but because I want him to zap someone.
He's creepy to look at & even though I'm almost 30 he freaks me out
The fact that the clone cadets from S2 are the ones in Episode 2 is an insane callback that even I didn't realize at first
Dang are they really?
Which episode?
@@TakenWasTakenYTthe last few episodes on kamino where they’re asking where they’re being transferred to
@@halfblood5995yep, and the leader is voiced by Daniel Logan, who played young Boba in attack of the clones
That was Season 1, but yeah I think they are.
A thing that stuck out to me that i really like is that with Palpatine, we see the mask of Hemlock slip to reveal what drives him. And its as always in the Empire, his own ambition. Quite burning ambition as far as i read the scene, after he basically presses Palpatine on the issue right then and there. Palpatine, of all people. Also, he is not as cold and calculating as tries to put on, the second Omega escapes the man has what i can only really describe as a severe tantrum and he completely loses his cool.
Yep I picked up on that too, added so much depth to an already great scene. Similar to Krennic and Vader on Mustafa, except this time Palpatine elected not to "force"ibly put Hemlock in his place (or use a bad pun)
@@christopherwhyte1818, yeah, Palpatine is smarter than that. He basically told Hemlock, "I'll think about it... IF you succeed." without actually saying it.
One good call back was in the third episode of Season3 when Crosshair basically let’s Omega come up with an escape plan that eventually leads them to nowhere in the middle of the wilderness with them having to improvise their way through. Omega apologizes to Crosshair for leading them to a dead end while being cornered by Imperials, but Crosshair, having a new found trust in Omega, tells her that she got them this far and that their fight isn’t over yet. In the last episode of Season 1 after going through the wreckage & underwater tunnel on Kamino, they were also brought to a dead end by Omega who had led them to that point because she knew the facility better than any of them. Everyone had unwavering trust in Omega except Crosshair. In that moment he said “That’s what happens when you put the mission in the hands of a child” or something to that degree and that alone just shows just how far Crosshair has come in his character journey. Two almost identical situations when their backs are against the wall in which they’re facing life or death & having Omega basically decide their fate. Brilliantly done.
We need a Bounty Hunters series under the same animation during the Imperial Era
They should do a video game where you play as 4 or 5 different bounty hunters, anthology style, spread across different timelines. Would be a layup
Imperial commando😭
Or a Maul series about rebuilding his criminal syndicate
Under Disney they'll make it too vanilla and not as dark as it should be.
Not by Disney
Strong start to season 3.
I love the character development of Omega and Crosshair. Having the clone kids come up is another way in which the Bad Batch is totally different than the Regs. I completely agree with how supposed "filler" episodes are not actually filler - they are worldbuilding episodes that create more context. It's like having the murder weapon in the first scene of a novel, but unlike a novel you don't have the space to describe things, so you create that extra context with seemingly extraneous episodes.
Except when the seasons are near half the size of Clone Wars seasons, and they announce this season is the final season to explain allllll of the questions they've brought up to this point
I remember when the Purrgil episode of Rebels was dismissed as filler...
Tbh Rebels didn't have any filler. Assets used on every episode, be it plot points or some sort of character development were always brought up later on in the series. Structurally and in portraying characters, it's probably Filoni's best work. Bad Batch will probably follow suit in these sectors since it follows the same patterns and a continuous plot/cast. CW was also a masterpiece but as an anthology
From the gorgeous CGI animation to a much tighter, focused story-line, these three episodes were very nicely done and I think a great beginning. The writing was improved from last season and the story-line was somewhat more mature as well. I find it interesting the themes of former 'villains' now trying to do something good. Crosshair's redemption arc is of course one of the major themes this season, but I think Nala Se is also trying to redeem herself somewhat for her wickedness during the Clone Wars series when she stopped Fives from blowing the lid off the inhibitor chips in the Clone's heads. It was also great to see some of the youngest clones and hopefully they'll survive the end of the series and live on into the time of the rebellion.
These 3 episodes were shit. Lol "Omega was nice to the dog and now the dog saved her proving the scientist man wrong about trust!" What a masterpiece amirite 🤡🤡🤡🤡
@@dancingvalkyrie If that was your only takeaway then... yeah I could see why you would think it's shit lol. Out of 90 minutes of content.
@@RelaxAndRawr The 90 mins of conedt were shallow garbage, especialy the entirety of episode 2 and its goofy ass plant shenanigans 🤡
@@dancingvalkyrie What was your expectation of this show? Or what are you hoping for?
@@RelaxAndRawr Something decent but i got something worthless instead
I like seeing the transition from the Republic to the Empire; we never saw that much in other media. Id like to see a Victory or Imperial Star Destroyer before this season is done.
I was watching all three episodes in one go and my friend said something interesting. "It's a lot more like Andor." It absolutely is it slowed the story right down and it's cooking the nuance to perfection. I am loving every single second of it but it might put a few people off if they are jumping straight into series 3. I think it's a sacrifice worth making if it's the final series.
Can we all agree that we wish to see some closure for Cody?
Or... a teaser for more Cody content?
I really feel like captain Rex, echo and Cody should get their own show
It did feel like they sowed the seeds for that with that episode in S2 where they were doing their own rebel attacks on Imperial ship@@GenerationTech
It would be great to see Cody come back as the head of a rebel cell comprised of clones.
@@GenerationTech better hope they survive until the end of this season first- if the clone rebellion kicks off before the end of the season, we could see a lot of KIA (especially with the mention of Base Delta Zero in episode 2)
@@GenerationTechI’m hoping for a clone rebellion show rather than having that squished into the back end of the bad batch
Alan I love this series ! I’m a big Animation fan, especially S7 & Bad Batch ! The story telling , it all works !
Filler episodes are character development episodes if the show is good. Read between the lines.
The Durands showing up in the second episode is a perfect example of nothing being filler. One episode in season 1 suddenly became very important in season 3.
After bad batch, I just want a show something like “tales of the clone wars” and it’s just all the cancelled arcs. Boba fetts and bane, ventres and voss, maul breaking out, bad batch on kashyyyk? But those types. Some of the cancelled arcs could do really well as a series separate from the clones
The bait and switch they did where it was a surprise inspection but how they put the centrifuge right before almost made it look like the empire found out. It was a great surprise
Bad Batch is quickly becoming one of my favorite pieces of Star Wars media period.
I hate the term “filler episode” it seems to get used whenever there is an episode people find boring. I’ve seen people call episode 2 of season 3 “filler” the show is called “the bad batch” not the empire show, just because it doesn’t really have the empire in it doesn’t make it a “filler episode”.
Its filler because it didnt progress the story at all. Everything in episode 2, we knew (minus the vine sarlacc i guess?). The characters it introduced are just going to be sidelined too, so the episode was pointless
@@commodorekhan8602 the season hasn't finished yet, how would you know if it's not relevant? Did you not watch the video? They've brought back characters from previous seasons before and so called 'filler' episodes have been shown to have been relevant
Filler episodes are definitely a thing, but I wouldn't call Season 3 episode 2 a filler. It's about Hunter and Wrecker searching for intel about Omega's whereabouts. It's a direct plotline about characters finding other characters. Filler is Goku learning how to drive a car.
@silmarildust Thats true, but if season 2 taught us anything, it's that filler episodes are definitely something that can happen in this show (half of season 2 were filler episodes and in the recap at the start of season 3, none of those filler episodes were even referenced to as important information)
@@bobthestinky7369 i could see that, but i will say it still feels like wasted time in the show. Like anytime we didnt see Hunter or Wrecker in episodes 1 and 3 we didnt think "oh they must have given up. I wonder what they're doing right now." We all knew they were doing what they could to find them. They could've literally showed up to them, claiming they found where they were from finding Hemlocks old base, yatta yatta and nobody would have an issue with that, while getting better used time for the more interesting story going on at Mount Tantis
I love that non of this has been filler so far! Omega and Crosshair’s escape had me on the edge of my seat!
Episode 2 was pretty much filler. The whole episode summed up to "hunter and wrecker are still looking for omega" so it was pretty much pointless. It didn't develop either of the two at all either
@@commodorekhan8602wtf you on about? They met tje clone cadets
@@tommuller6373 ill admit, the season could still use them, but even in the episode, they say they are just going to drop them off at the island and keep searching for Omega. There's no good reason to believe they are important to the story of this final season besides being the cadets from Clone Wars.
@@commodorekhan8602it does show development, actually. Clone Force 99 is much maligned by Regs, and they have hated Regs for most of the show.
@@testingmyaudioaddiction3452 that was only Crosshair, who has been going through great development in other episodes. Nowhere did Clone Wars or Bad Batch ever imply that the other members had nearly as much of a problem with regs at all. In fact, it seemed more the opposite that the regs had more issues with them.
"This is where the fun beings"
Having Jimmy Simpson do the voice of Hemlock reminds me of Westworld and how good season 1 was. I love your channel. I just rewatched Andor. I bought some Andor memorabilia. They gave a coin to the cast and crew of season 2. There are some for sale on British Ebay and I was able to coax one out of someone for way lower of a price than most were for sale for. I work as an extra and wanted so badly to be part of Andor. It was not to be as I couldn't really go grovel in England but can't wait for season 2 of Andor.. Next thing I want is an Omega t-shirt. You should make one for your channel maybe with Omega on one side and Michele Ang on the other...
I enjoy how you reveal hidden or true meanings behind so many SW stories, including politics, war, relationships, purpose and more. I also recognize the view of Battery Park and always get a kick out of seeing it in the background!
There's definitely a darker tone to the first three episodes of this season. While I dislike the sequel trilogy I always thought the Palpatine clone storyline had some potential, they did it in legends and it worked there so I'm not really bothered to see that particular plot point being expanded upon. Now if we could get a Luke new Jedi order show, showing the rise and fall of Luke instead of just being told about it in the sequels, maybe they can make the Last Jedi a little more palatable.
I see what you mean but I'm not so sure, I mean Palpatine coming back in a clone body or something is cool in theory kinda like how a slasher villain is never REALLY dead by the end of the film...but even when they did it in legends the execution still came across as kinda dumb, not quite as bad as how it got handled in the sequels but still not great, they could probably have done it well in the sequels had that been their plan from the start and not just a panicked hail Mary attempt to try and drum up some fan support. There's definitely a way to do it and make it work but they'd need a really good writer for that, pretty sure a retroactive clean up job via spin off material is the best we're gonna get for that unfortunately.
Yellow lightsaber rey at the end was a stupid ending, so many choices of color but they give her the generic “one above the rest” look in saber colors
I wish if Disney didn't have Kept the old republic Canon if they do I would a animated series like the Clone Wars to take place during the galatic war between the sith and the Republic with multiple characters and how galaxy was affected for 28 years or they could expanded it like with Cold War that happened after The Eternal Empire or my favourite idea it would be set during the hundred years of darkness like Game of Thrones live action ❤
Oh, an Animsted Series on was after the battle of endor and what happened after 14 years of rebellion starting the new republic and the warlords of the galatic empire fighting each other instead of there enemies
Sounds good to me! 👍
Excellent video. I’m enjoying the first 3 episodes. I’m not a sequel fan but if they can make it make sense, then I’m all for it.
These 3 episodes had an “Andor” feel and I like it.
These episodes were very somber, not used to that being sustained in a Star Wars story, it certainly kept me tense for the duration. Really tells us how the rest of the season is gonna be, can't wait to be emotionally crushed...
I just love that they made Scorch a commander
Good review and analysis. I always appreciate good faith comment. These three episodes reassure my conviction in animation as a medium for canon stories. It is always reaching new heights in terms of visuals and depth in its storytelling. I am hoping that after The Bad Batch we can get an animated project post ROTJ or between TLJ and TROS. The Sequels offer very good material to work and develop upon. My favorite episode out of these three was the second episode. Can’t wait for what’s coming!
also one last thing generations tech I asked this to you out of every what if scenario fanfiction the one where Anakin Skywalker fulfills the prophecy of the chosen one destined to bring balance to the force reaches achieves true perfect balance in the force has everything his mother Padme and others is what if anakin Skywalker was trained by the force itself his real and true creator and father
Punctuation: use it.
@@jonharrison9222 I will but tell me what do you think?
I didn’t understand anything.
@@gbozzi05_ I said, which of the what if scenario fanfiction, which one is the strongest, most powerful version of Anakin Skywalker, ever of all time in the history of Star Wars, and this one comes to my mind and others what if Anakin Skywalker was trained by the force itself, his real and true creator and father by the way you know in Star Wars Canon, the force has a wheel of its own. It works in mysterious ways and exist everywhere in all of Star Wars.
Crosshair deserves his own show.
Yeah Crosshair is my favorite character in the show. I'd like to dive more into his background
generations tech could this be true could this be the end of the Legacy era of George Lucas I know Dave filoni is in charge but still it's always best to learn from the old ways to adapt to the new ways
Dave Filoni is doing a great job at making Palpatine's return in episode 9 not feel like a random unplanned storyline.
HOWEVER
a movie should not rely on TWO shows to exuse its crappy plot
Yes "Somehow Palpatine has reuturned" has more meaning now but its taking them at least two shows to make it so.
Idk… Not in terms of the animation quality but Sidious casually strolling up to Mandalore like Mr. StealYoGirl then dropping off Maul and Savage is still peak for me
that's what great about star wars you know the bad guys are powerful but you rarely see it. But when you do its amazing like the vader boarding scene
One awesome moment in the Clone Wars doesn't make it better yk. Clone Wars is a good show bit it struggled with tone and very immature writing and acting but The Bad Batch seems to be fixing that
@@GenerationTech So true, “show don’t tell”.
@@madtitanthanos7898 Oh for sure. For me it is just my favorite Star Wars animation moment. Never felt scared for what was going to happen to a villain except for that singular scene.
@@macksongall1744 fair enough it is a dope scene
Can I just say I love this show. Filler and all!
Clone Wars ending was awesome
Man, all of this tugs the threads of my heart.
And the camera work and new 3d lenses
It was nice watching Omega get tactical in episode 3.
Awesome Video!!! OMG THESE FIRST 3 EPISODES WERE AMAZING!!!!!!
I LOVED THEM SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!! Episode 1 was Great for showing how depressing and Hopeless it is on Mount Tantiss for Omega and Crosshair.
It was a Really Great Episode and It really set the stage for them to escape. Episode 2 was also Great, It was really Cool to see Clone Cadets again! But Episode 3 has to be My Favorite! It had So Much Action, And I really wasn't expecting Crosshair and Omega to escape that early on, But I'm Glad They Did! And it was quite Surprising to See Palpatine again! I know People are mad that it might connect to The Sequels, But I think that Dave knows what He's Doing and He's going to find a way to make it really Cool and Very Interesting! These First 3 Episodes were Everything I could’ve wanted!!!
Great Start to The Season! I LOVE THIS SHOW SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!
I'M SOOOOOO EXCITED FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON!!!!!!
FORRRRRR THE REPUBLIC!!!!!!
I think Omega was the first successful force sensitive clone. It would explain her extremely attuned emotional senses and also it explains why Nala Se values her so much, because we all know Kaminoans don't have hearts. Also Omega hasn't ever encountered any other force users so it makes sense she would have no clue what the force is.
She met gunji
Ha Ha!! Hungry Like the Wolf... "Durand"... some of the lyrics match the episode arc too... good one!!
This is why your channel is amazing, you manage to discuss the whole season without giving any substantial spoilers
I am really hoping we get to see the Great Clone Rebellion
GENETICALLY MODIFIED SARLACC! WHY WOULD YOU MAKE THAT!
I expect we’ll meet a young Dr Pershing
That valt for palps clones was beyond perfect
I noticed how Cross Hairs changed his blaster from stun to lethal mode.
Enjoyed it very much. Just sad this is the end. I love the look of this show. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
surprised this channel isn't the #1 highest viewed star wars channel
many reasons why im sure but just find it interesting since it feels well balanced
I would assume tech is confirmed dead given how hunter has his broken goggles on the ship
Omg yesss. How omega treated and saved batcher honestly might be favorite thing in Star Wars! I can’t stand seeing animals in pain. So seeing her save that hound and free it in the end. Was absolutely perfect! Huge probs for omega.
I think that instead of a younger version of Palpatine being in the vault, I think it’s Grogu in stasis.
Thing is, do we know this has got to end badly because Necromancer works eventually? Does this mean a sad ending for Omega this season OR does the fact they're trying to get it to work in Mando mean that she's gonna escape AND does that mean live action Omega could come into play in the Mando era of the Filoni verse as the Emperial remnants and Thrawn seek her out for Necromancer?
No fuck that. Filoni needs to quit being a pussy and kill off his characters. Ahsoka should’ve died in Rebels, all of the Bad Batch should be dead by the end of this season.
Democracy majority rule by nature is against individual identity and individual rights as well
2:14 and this was a statement that i learned and believed whole heartedly after Marvel's What If Season 1 finale came out and concluded everything the season left hanging. I was very unimpressed, but that finale cemented the series' place as a project worth the effort.
I really liked the episodes, all of them kept me on the edge of my seat!!!! The levels of anxiety I went through 😆😆
I’m really liking this new season. Thanks for the video.
I appreciated the similar vibes that Episode 1 had to Andor, with the dripping faucet marking the drudgery of Omega's daily routine.
Although... Did anyone else feel like a first-aid kit in an Imperial Facility was out of place? Maybe just me.
Well considering how they had a single bot on duty to monitor those guard dogs sure but ehhh it is what it is
I would kill to see a Boba Fett show set one to five years after Order 66 using this animation. We would get to see a young Boba Fett in his prime.
I had to keep reminding myself that this is a kids show while watching the Season 3 premiere. Omega being linked to Project Necromancer was something I was hoping for. Another project thst helped bankrupt the Empire.
No clone left behind! ...except all the guys still being held at Mount Tantiss. They can get left behind a little, as a treat.
the entire "confined" episode I just felt cold. So they did a great job with the esthetic of mount tantis.
absolutely beautiful start to the third season, especially the first episode...music, pacing, tone, all brilliant!
I actually think the clones Palps is making clones of Starkiller. They've mentioned they wanted to make him canon and this would be a good opportunity.
There is no such thing as a filler episode, only filler viewers.
I loved how even Cadets were somewhat judgemental towards Hunter and Wrecker. Calling those 2 guys defective knowing full well they could easily kill em.... peak storytelling
That death race episode was my favorite episode in the entire show
We will most likely see the stormtroopers new armour in this season. As 18 bby takes us into the invasion of mocala. And by then stormtrooper armour is around.
Just discovered your channel. Good Star Wars videos man!
I love this and it's funny that a friend and i wrote a fan fic with the same general plotline. Cloning bit restoration of every sith Lord before with built in loyalty to palpatine only
I absolutely HATE that this is the final season, it looks so perfect. 3 down 12 to go, last episode is on May 1st
I like the soundtrack too
Hello there!
I would say individuality is a theme in Sci-Fi in general - I mean it's definitely a theme in Blade Runner, Cowboy Bebop (to an extent), and much more stories
The entire time I watched it.
“Crosshair!!! Ya!! Classic Crosshair maneuver! You just got, CROSSHAIRED!!!! Die Imperial Scum, Crosshair’s here!! Crosshair has a blast! You’re all dead!”
I love Crosshair ❤️
People mistake stand alone and or adventure of the week episodes with filler. Don't like something? Call it filler. Even episodes (of any show) clearly made for a younger demo aren't necessarily filler. If they go unorthodox there will be channels saying this clearly Star Wars show "isn't Star Wars" enough.
They will never fix the problems of the sequels. My problem with bringing Palpatine back is the same in canon and legends. It cheapens Anakin’s sacrifice.
Being real, I kinda want to see if the now more developed animation style of CW, Bad Batch, and Tales of the Jedi could be used in a video game. I’m watching this stuff and finding myself just dreaming of experiencing these shows with a game controller in hand.
They could do a series on the clone wars again with the art style but go and follow unknown legions and jedi. Just keep all the main characters we already know to a minimum maybe something like a season for each legion or unit, for a few seasons.
I think it’s perfectly believable that Nala-Se while cold and distant, cares very deeply for Omega, the only thing she really has left of her home and research after the empire destroyed it. She lost everything and so she’s not used to caring but she does and her actions show it.😊
I know you'll agree with me on this one: what's with the whole inconsistency of Imperial Officers's and personnel's uniforms and rank insignia plaques? I mean it's barly been a mere year into Imperial rule and we've already started seeing Imperial-era uniforms when in the book Tarkin the finalized version of the traditional uniform won't be seen by at least five years after the rise of the Empire.
I would have thought that it would have stayed repubblican in the First Season, whereas in the Second Season it would start to change: the upper tunic should have become the Imperial one whilst the trousers and footwear would stay the same. The Rank placques would stay the same in the First Season except for Tarkin's Moff rank and that female Captain from that episode on Raxus. The first being a newly created position and the other a product of the newly created Imperial Army branch of the Military. Those random technicians should have been wearing black kepis and grey jumpsuits not Imperial Gunner helmets!
And why were standard Stormtroopers piloting that Gozanti cruiser and those V-wing Interceptors in Seasons One and Two? Not to mention Rampart's rank insignia was the wrong one! It showed he was a Rear-Admiral not a Vice-Admiral. How fustrating!
I know its more likely than not a bunch on sheev clones but it would be pretty hilarious if it just isnt and filoni has just been messing with us.
I was going to watch one episode over three days to saver them. I couldn’t resist binging all three. That’s how much I enjoyed the episodes.
I was definitely feeling some Andor vibes in that first episode.
I really hope at the end of the show we get an epilogue where mt.tantis is abandoned after the battle of endor and found again by grand admiral thrawn
9/10. It's looking really good.
I'm undecided.
It was a great start to the season BUT I would much prefer it if it stayed purely as a story about the clones and not feel the need to throw in a force user.
I feel like given the popularity of clones they will eventually make a captain Rex echo focused show
@@GenerationTech That would be great :)
Rebels really missed out on this artstyle 😢
Enjoyed the first episode and hope to watch the other two over the next few days. Confined captures Omega's experience as a captive and lab assistant to Dr Hemlock. Hemlock is the closest thing in Star Wars to Dr Joseph Mengele.
they had me thinking that dripping water meant something.... perhaps just a symbol of how the empire never actually fixed any problems.
I watched this entire video, and my brain exploded from information overload.
I’m watching on my phone and thought my mouse was on my screen because of your mouse just chilling there
It's cool to see the 1st versions of K-2SO units (we see them in season 2 too in the Mayday episode)
Does these droids were already in fonction during the Republic period?
I love mouse droids mistreatments😂
I enjoyed it, glad they released the first 3 episodes at once.
As a massive star wars (especially Bad Batch) fan, how pn earth did i not know season 3 was already out??!! I must work ways to much bc I'm out of touch big time😂😂
I think the reason echo and Rex weren’t in the first few episodes is they couldn’t get their voice actors for more time, also why we haven’t seen Wolffe
They are all the same voice actor though
every adult, male clone from Clone Wars, Rebels, and Bad Batch are voiced by Dee Bradley Baker
@@KyloStimpy it was a joke
@@m310grass ohhh... my bad :)
