Awesome catches i caught my first ever saugeye earlier this year on memorial day hopefully I'll catch my first walleye next year I'll definitely have to check these spots out in the future
Buckeye lake is absolutely amazing for saugeye and has fairly good crappie too. I moved to dayton this year so I'm struggling to learn all the new waters near me.
@@littlelothar big Joshua swim bait on a 1/16oz or an 1/8 Oz jighead, remember the lake is only like 7 feet deep the entire lake. Lighter the jig longer the jig is in the strike zone.
Where do you park to get the canals? It looks like all private residential? I mainly fish Fairfield beach and sellers, but have never tried the canals!
@@TKJ_Fishing makes sense. I’ve been seeing everyone catching them in the canals. I’m struggling to find a good bite on the main lake from the bank. Thanks.
@@codytichenor3447 no problem, I’m on the boat right now. I can’t stand shoulder to shoulder fishing. Doing a catch and cook video start to finish. Worms from the yard to catch bluegill, and bluegill to catch cats to cook!
I’m on the boat trying to find em right now! 3/16oz is what I use. I use 1/4 oz to 3/8oz if it’s windy and/or deep but for slow retrieve lighter is better in my opinion.
It’s not horrible. Bass are heavily pressured on Buckeye. This time of year there’s a tournament every Tuesday night and dang near every Thursday and Saturday too. If at least half of them were CPR tournaments I think populations would be healthier but as a result, most of the population is smaller. There are some 3-5 pounders scattered around though!
Not right now I don’t, haven’t had any luck finding them yet this fall. The bite has been slow and it seems the few caught have been on minnows, make sure you get em from Jim over at the millersport bait shop. And if there’s any location they’re biting when you come out, he’ll point you in the right direction! good luck! And tell him I sent ya😉
@@TKJ_Fishing Thanks for in the info. I noticed from your video, you were bank fishing with pontoons still in the water. Is this public access to bank fish or do you need permission?
Yeah the majority here do. Every once in a while you get some real dark ones with giant eyes. My PB last year heavily favored the sauger side. It was a wicked fish man, row after row of teeth! Check the vid out!
Don’t bother making videos? Why? Because i didn’t do enough to make Gordy happy? I’ve showed this lure off time and time again, 6-7 videos for sure. If you were subscribed and watched anything else I’ve put out, you’d see that. And you’d also see Big Joshy Swimbaits are a staple on my channel. What do you want next? Directions to my honey holes because it’s a public lake? If it don’t make you happy, don’t watch. I’m not gonna waste my time on punks telling me not to bother making videos over petty bs.

I live right by the canal I fish in. Any others I go by boat. For the most part they are private/residential. No where to park really.

I usually park where my mom works walk down to the canal I stay by the road due to private property on the other side

@@nitramza861 nope, it was a bust.
@@nitramza861Let me know when they’re in there🤣I caught some a couple months ago at Hoover oddly they were still biting and they weren’t deep at all.

I can’t find any of those big Joshy anywhere but that little bait shop near the laundry mat
Nice Saugeye! Making an hour trip to the lake for the first time with my son. Any tips on places for bank fishing? Thanks in advance.
