  • In November 2023, all current and former GLF Restoration Stewards from Latin America and the Caribbean were invited to participate in a field visit to the Colombian department of Tolima. During the visit, participants witnessed the impactful community-led restoration activities led by 2022 Mountain Restoration Steward Sergio Lozano and the team from the GLFx Tolima chapter. The visit was made possible through the kind support of the Lavazza Foundation and the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV).
Embark on an exhilarating virtual journey to explore these extraordinary environmental initiatives in Colombia's Andean landscapes. Join Sergio Lozano, Maria Isabel Moreno, Researcher in Sustainable Landscapes at SELVA, and Ledis Arango, the Coordinator of the GLFx Tolima Chapter, as they guide us through the fascinating history and objectives of the restoration projects supported by the GLF in the region.
Discover the inspiring efforts to restore Tolima's landscapes, including how communities are leading the charge in championing biodiversity, establishing sustainable coffee value chains, and creating essential socio-environmental corridors to support local wildlife. Join us in celebrating the power of community in driving positive change in Colombia's ecosystems!
