I'm an old woman, been gardening for years and I'm STILL learning from lovely folks like you. We've had rubbish weather here in Ireland lately, hail, rain, thunder and frosts. Today the sun came out so I split my time between weeding, slug killing and grass cutting. Came back indoors knackered and sore and wondering if it's all worth it. Then I watch your lovely vid and your enthusiasm's so infectious so I get my answer..of course it is! Thanks for the info and the motivation to keep going. :)

Cheers Jessie. I don't think there will be any complaints if you did ramble and make an hour long blog. Just means more J time for us. Nice to see the hens now getting in on the walking backwards lark.
Thanks again for sharing. Weather has been crazy here in west Norfolk. Sunday was lovely, but we’ve had thunder storms, hailstones the size of marbles, 50mph winds too. I’m several years behind!! Don’t underestimate how much knowledge and experience you have to share. Thanks again. Keep it coming.
Thank you Pat! Wow, still with the hailstones?! Come on May!! This is a right old weird year this year, isn’t it! Hope things calm down in W.Norfolk soon!
Hi Jessie, just wanted to say, thank you so so much. I have recently subscribed to your Vlog and am enjoying it immensely and learning so much to boot. I think you and your mum are amazing. My husband and I are on our last day of our holiday on a boat on the Norfolk Broads and I've left my son in charge of watering my seedlings in the greenhouse and veg patch🤞😬 After watching you this week and your wonderful enthusiasm, I can't wait to get home and get out there again. Keep up the good work, you are both amazing 🤩
What an amazing amazing ;-) week it has been. So grateful for the rain on Saturday and for the warmer weather. Looking forward to seeing the outcome of your field beans - a green manure and a crop could be perfect. We nearly gave up on parsnips this year due to cold and low germination but pre-sprouted some seeds and added them into the rows where had one or two that germinated and they have taken really well and are now looking really healthy plants. All our tomatoes are now planted outside and I am looking forward to tending them over the coming months. I thought I saw your mum doing some backwards walking on a previous video...but how you have trained your chickens to do the same... Amazing! ;-) Thanks for a lovely video and have a great week!
Another great vlog Jess! Loads of great info. I still have my tomatoes to get out, hoping for Saturday. It’s been a weird spring here in the Midwest USA. Backward walking, smiling mum and girlie whirlies, always puts a smile to my face. Glad you had a great week, looking forward to the strawberry cage build. Love your construction projects. Take care!

Hi Jessie, Tuesdays and Saturdays are my favorite days of the week! Love watching all your videos of your garden, home, cooking and out and about. I'd love your videos to be longer. I just started planting things out in my garden, here in New England. My seedling tomatoes are coming along and I will plant them out soon. Peppers are still very small, seems they took forever to germinate and grow. I have peas, lettuce and kale in so far. Thank you for such informative and fun to watch videos. I've also learned a lot from you!!!
Hi Debbie! Thank you! My peppers have really taken their time too this year. Much smaller than last year! I’m hoping they are just biding their time. 😄

My Achocha are popping up ! I sowed the lot (twenty seed) thinking that these strange hard seed wont germinate ! but they did, I put two in each pot so I've got to find space for them ? Thanks Jess for telling us about them, Hope they are nice. Thanks for the vid

Wow, 20 Achocha... that’s going to be rather, umm, a lot!! 😄 I had 3 last year and couldn’t keep up with the picking! They are incredibly prolific! But they are delicious and can be used raw or fried or put in a soup or stew so they are quite versatile! But you may want to donate a couple of those plants 😄😄
I have to sow my parsnips ASAP, thanks for the reminder! I just harvested the last of last year yesterday. I have sown Black Russian and I'm delighted to hear how good they are. What is your spacing between tomato plants and how do you prevent fungus?
This is so motivating. Around here (Belgium) impossible to find any Red Choi seeds, I have spot online UK shops but they don't deliver to Europe thanks to Brexit. Do you or your followers have any tips ? Have a great week-end .
Great video Jessie! But I have a question.......what is a faff? I'm from the states and I can guess it's some kind of slang. And I've checked my book "How to speak Brit" by Christopher J Moore and it's not in there, so hopefully it's mentionable. ;) Also we've had cold weather too, but this week it's supposed to be 70 all week and I too just put my tomatoes outside. Beautiful !
Hi Joan! Yeah, like Julz said - it’s unnecessary extra bother. Like ‘I’m faffing about’ is like doing stuff in a rush but none of it’s what you’re supposed to be doing. Or ‘that’s such a faff’ is it’s more work than I want it to be... 😅 It’s a great word! Yay for the tomatoes going out! Hope it wasn’t too much of a faff 😆
Hi Lorraine! Thank you. Um, no. Nothing ate my tree spinach last year at all (except us!) but mine are too small to go out yet this year! Hopefully in a couple of weeks!

I had 3 last year and couldn’t keep up with the picking! They are incredibly prolific! But they are delicious and can be used raw or fried or put in a soup or stew so they are quite versatile! But you may want to donate a couple of those plants 😄😄
Haven’t seen newts for years , great video .
Thanks Daz. Love the newts!
🤗❤🤗
I have to sow my parsnips ASAP, thanks for the reminder! I just harvested the last of last year yesterday. I have sown Black Russian and I'm delighted to hear how good they are. What is your spacing between tomato plants and how do you prevent fungus?
This is so motivating. Around here (Belgium) impossible to find any Red Choi seeds, I have spot online UK shops but they don't deliver to Europe thanks to Brexit. Do you or your followers have any tips ? Have a great week-end .
That was Abigail hobnedob that you had in the green house
Forgot to say, rocking another hat🤘🤘🤘👌🎩
😄😄
Great video Jessie! But I have a question.......what is a faff? I'm from the states and I can guess it's some kind of slang. And I've checked my book "How to speak Brit" by Christopher J Moore and it's not in there, so hopefully it's mentionable. ;) Also we've had cold weather too, but this week it's supposed to be 70 all week and I too just put my tomatoes outside. Beautiful !
A faff is sort of unnecessary bother.
Hi Joan!
Yeah, like Julz said - it’s unnecessary extra bother. Like ‘I’m faffing about’ is like doing stuff in a rush but none of it’s what you’re supposed to be doing. Or ‘that’s such a faff’ is it’s more work than I want it to be... 😅
It’s a great word!
Yay for the tomatoes going out! Hope it wasn’t too much of a faff 😆
Great video as always ! Can I just ask you do you cover your tree spinach 💚
Hi Lorraine! Thank you. Um, no. Nothing ate my tree spinach last year at all (except us!) but mine are too small to go out yet this year! Hopefully in a couple of weeks!
I'm putting my tomatoes in this evening! No more traipsing in and out.
Yay!! 👏
Keep the vids long please. :)
Hahahah! 😄
Do you leave the roots of the field beans in
Hi Joy, Yes, just cutting them off at the base and planting through the roots!
Hi Jessie where did you get your thick hemp twine and how is it described. love your channel.
Regards Peter

Hi youShould create more cooking vlogs with a glass or two would be the modern day Keith Floyd take care carry on the good work 😂
Keith Floyd did not end well.
Hahah, I adore Keith Floyd. I could go around to other peoples kitchens, dress fantastically, get everyone drunk and flirt outrageously! 😄
But yeah, as Sue mentioned - I might avoid the actual end 😞
Asparagus soup video please!! :)
Yahoo on putting in your tomatoes! Mine are going in on Saturday, June 8 (Zone 5) which is a little bit late... I once commented years ago that it's not a bona fide garden unless it has tomatoes, and it got a downvote!! >:(
Must have been a florist did that lol
Great video. I wondered whether you had done a poly tunnel review?
I am looking into investing in a Premier Polytunnel.
Do you have any advice?
I thought the chard brought out your smile, it did mine anyway, big love Rob.
Hahah, thanks Rob.
I’ve only done a review of the one I built. And I’ve not had a great time with bought polys. But I got my fantastic plastic from First Tunnels and I’ve heard great things about the polytunnels they sell!
@@JessieatPlot37 - Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I feel like a rock star now.
I too have heard good things, so I will take a look.
I’m based in Yorkshire and although we have had some fantastic weather recently. We have still managed to suffer frost mornings.
It’s a stark contrast to last year, which as I recall was a miniature heatwave. Oh well all good experience.
It’s a peppers day for me, prune or not to prune, that is the question... take care lovely lady and big love.
My gardening days are Monday and Tuesday
