    Distilled rose water is just water with a rose scent and doesn't offer any real benefits. Boiling rose water, on the other hand, extracts the rose's chemicals and oils, which are beneficial for your skin. It's common sense, people!

    • @sylmarie
      @sylmarie Місяць тому +2

      That’s actually incorrect. Rose water is a hydrosol. Hydrosols are more potent than teas but less potent than essential oils.

      There are naturally occurring essential oils in hydrosol if you don't filter it out using an oil catcher.

      Hydrosol is liquid from substances like water and essential oil that have a boiling point of around 40-80 C degrees. All the chemicals and pesticides won’t be evaporating.

      @kaylynne7911 thank you but I meant alcohol. Perfumers alcohol is a type of preserver like Everclear. It's not perfume, it's sometimes used in things like essentials or hydrosol water to give it a shelf life.

      Simple diffusion makes things more pure
      I mean, sure you could have the same amout of the rose's benifits from straining and condencing but that' just like drinking a glass of milk and the same amout of milk but with water. The taste of just milk is more intense than milk and water but you still get the same nutritional value.
      (So you might aswell eat the rose petals/jk)

    Can you put cold water instead of ice cubes

    • @Error_540
      @Error_540 6 місяців тому

      I think the ice acts like a timer to tell you when the condensation happens or something

    • @Erklzanderz
      @Erklzanderz Місяць тому

      @Error_540 the ice is not a timer, it is to encourage the moisture to condense and collect into water droplets so that it can fill up the inside bowl, otherwise more steam would escape around the lid and get wasted. Hope that helps!

    • @Erklzanderz
      @Erklzanderz Місяць тому

      Cold water is better than nothing, but it will warm up very quickly and you wont get as much of the rose water. I use ice cubes at first, then use a big ice pack to keep the water cold instead of using a ton of ice.

      Is it important to use ice ??
      What is the use of it ??

    • @tessamoland797
      @tessamoland797 7 місяців тому +2

      @fatmazahra3559 You need the ice and heat to do it properly. You dont want the steam to escape so quickly you can't collect it. The ice also helps with collecting oils. Roses have very low oil content, so it takes ALOT of roses to get a decent amount of oil. However, herbs like lavendar or mint have a high oil content, so the ice helps to separate the oil from the water, which will float on top of the water.

      I came across this and trying this for my clients, and researched that if you do this distillation process, you can shelf for up to 6months, and to a year in the freezer. If you straight boil it with water and extract, up to 2 weeks only.

      The ice (cold) works with the hot water inside to produce a steam action inside the pot. The steam hits the lids, gets cooled by the ice on the lid, then the condensation drips from the lid into the smaller bowl inside
