Wish you had explored some of the Sea Caves on Davaar Island especially the one with the painting of Jesus on the Cross. It was my favorite part of my trip. I would go back and forth a few days in a row. Amazing!! I spent of few weeks in Campbeltown after university. I even met a sweet man, Paul McGraff/th who was a school teacher at the time. He had big plans so I am sure he is long gone from Campbeltown. The people were amazing and lovely. I stayed on a farm a bit out of town past this massive bull. For this city girl that was an experience. That bull was just sitting behind a thin fence. HAHA! So terrified. Stayed in a few different places when I was there and spent a lot of time a The Tea Room. A few things you showed like Linda's Garden wasn't there when I went because she was still alive. Such a sad thing to hear about her beloved farm and farm animals. The place looks as beautiful as ever and you are a great ambassador. Thank you for your video. You bought back some great memories
We visited Davaar in the video below. Thanks for watching. There are a few videos on the Kintyre area in my collection. ua-cam.com/video/SxQ7EuY8ybY/v-deo.html
Fantastic historical details, and very well presented. Thankyou Julie, I've had my daily fix of Scotland and her history today, so won't have withdrawals! Ha-ha. ....old Tich.
It's a very peaceful and beautiful plate to visit. Ther's a charm cat that lives in this garden. I went to Campbeltown to enjoy the Annual Scottish Music Festival and felt in love for the people and city.
Haven't met this cat on my numerous visits to the garden, I'll have my eyes peeled on my next visit! It's a lovely wee town, and it's even nicer when the sun is shining. Thanks for watching.
The sculpture of Linda McCartney was sculpted by Paul’s cousin Jane Robbins (sister of impressionist Kate Robbins). Jane studied sculpture at Stafford College, under tutor Steve Niblock who is also a resident of Argyll and happens to be my other half.
Hi - I shared this on a Paul McCartney Facebook page. We're interested to about the claim that the farm has been badly neglected. Is this something on record in local newspapers, or something that you have learned from talking to the local residents? Not saying it's not true but just wanted to know your sources.
Thanks for sharing. The farm has indeed been badly neglected since Linda's untimely demise. It was widely reported in media, The Daily Mail and The Herald that I can recall. Macca, in his wisdom, decided after Linda's passing, to become an absentee landlord, and behave like one. Linda and Paul had had a vision of the place, as more of a hippy commune, that respected the land, animals and people involved. Paul then attempted to make the place a business, pushing forestry and other unwelcome changes. I live in Argyll, and know a few folk on Kintyre. They all had a great word to say about Linda, and appeared to care deeply for her, him, not so much.
@@VultureSunset There is a resident has replied here, who doesn't appear to feel the same. I always think a town is what you make it, and believe me I have lived in some dodgy places in my time. 🙄
@@VultureSunset I'm from Campbeltown and although I don't live there now,I would go back in a heartbeat and go there every chance I get. It's a beautiful area, gorgous beaches and to say it's the worst town in the world is more than harsh.Maybe, seeing as you've lived there your whole life is the problem, get out there and experience other places, and that might make you appreciate what a great place the "wee toon" is

@@ExploringScotlandsHistory thanks for getting back to me - it confirms what I suspected.
I think it was Linda who was more in love with Scotland. McCartney needs to sell
his farm as he has moved on.
Oh jesus.. worst town in the world.
In your opinion!! 🤗
Harsh btw 🤔
@@ExploringScotlandsHistory I've lived here my whole life its everyone's opinion.
