The girl in the boots is a hottie. Wow!! Way underrated song that mainstream oldies never plays. Kenny's First Edition days are the most memorable. I bought the 45 of this in the '80s and still have it.
I love it when I discover a kickass old song I haven't heard before! I get so tired of the same old stuff they play on classic rock and oldies radio...nice to know there are all kinds of hidden gems like this still waiting for me to find them 😊 Also, that Hank Williams cover at the end is to die for 😍😆😂
I bought this single when I was twelve years old and AM radio was king. The variety of music we heard. I remember when Kenny was down on his luck and was selling guitar books on TV and in time he was the biggest in music. We were lucky to have this man in our lives. Kenny was always the same genuine guy. Boy, could he deliver a song. Greatly missed.
I was fortunate to see Kenny with The First Edition and as a solo Act. He always gave a great performance. He is and always will Be missed. God bless you, Kenny!
Wow what a blast from the Past. The Sixty's, had ended and the Seventies were just starting. Myself I had just turned Twelve, with two teenage Sisters. Music was just beginning to influence me then. Oh what great things happened then. May God Bless us All. Amen. Thanks😍🤗😍🤗😍.😍🤗😄🤗🤗
What a wonderful voice of a talented guy who was handsome no matter what age he became . All of your fans love you Kenny . Rest in peace . You're missed very dearly .
I always liked Kenny Rogers and was so saddened to hear he passed away last night. RIP, Mr. Rogers.....you gave so many of us SO much to he happy about....and thankfully the songs you wrote will still be around for many, many years.
I loved The First Editon. This is a great song. I needed to hear it tonight. I had watched CCR's. Fortunate Son, Run Thru the Jungle, and Have You Ever Seen the Rain, with the Vietnam pics and viedo's. That brought it all back for me. I just bawled. My dad was a Vietnam Vet. Guys, just a few yrs older than me were drafted and went in, not because they wanted to but because they had to. Since we were in the military, as a teenager I had to go to the main hospital. Many of these guys had just been flown in state side. What I saw was horrific and so sad. My dad told me I had to just smile and say Hi if I was talked to and I was. It broke my heart. In my 60's now I still cry as I remember. My dad passed on yrs ago My husband is from Cleveland and we were just talking about Kent State and Vietnam, having a discussion abt all that went on back then. My hsb's friend from school, dad was one of the police officers (I think he said) was killed at Kent state. Those were some pretty bad yrs. TO ALL VETERANS and their families, THANK YOU! Your the best of best. Thank you for all that you do. The Home of the Brave because of the Brave! (Sorry this is so long)
I was fortunate to have seenKenny Rogers when he was with the First Edition back in the 1970's in Rutland, Vermont. His popular song at that time was Tell it All. R.I.P.
Now that is MUSIC in it's finest form. Golden and smooth voices! Both Kenny and Dean are sorely missed, but their music will live on. Thanks for posting this.
This was one of my favorite songs of 1970. I remember it so well because I was a sophomore in a small college but just felt lost. I went from thinking I was a big dog in high school to not having anyone special. It sort of fit my mood plus I just love the singing.
I loved Kenny and The First Edition saw them in Bham Al twice in The Shower Of Stars.Loved their TV show Rolling On The River.Reuben James, and What Condition My Condition is In was My Favorite.
What a voice......all the time, always --he sang of the heart and from the heart. His songs always touched my heart. RIP, Kenny…. Thank you for enriching my life.
R.I.P., Kenny. What an amazingly diverse collection of music you left us with. And yes, this song is even more relevant today than in 1970 with lyrics like, "Tell it all, brother/Before we fall/Tell it all, brothers and sisters/Tell it all."
"Tell It All Brother" has always been among my favorites of The First Edition. Dean: "Gravy" Kenny: "No, that's GROOVY" - LOL

And in the dungeons of your mind Who you got chained to the wall? Tell it all brother, before we fall Tell it all brothers and sisters Tell it ah-ah-aal Did you plant your feet on higher ground To avoid life's mud and stone? Did you ever kick a good man When he was down, just to make yourself feel strong? Tell it all brother, before we fall Tell it all brothers and sisters Tell it ah-ah-aal Tomorrow just might be too late Now is the time To get your jumbled mind straight And seek a new design Did you ever walk before a crippled man Pretending you were lame? And what made you think one feeble hand to God Was gonna make him call your name? Tell it all brother and sisters Tell, Tell it all Tell it all brother, before we fall Tell it all brothers and sisters, tell Tell it all brother, before we fall Tell.. it.. all

You are welcome. It also helps to watch lip movements during the video. I had to watch it a few times myself just to make sure. I also looked at a lot of lyrics online......and I notice most have it wrong also. I did notice one other person had it right. But thanks for not being offended also
Relates to my oldest brother . Selfish ,puts everyone down ,he's better than everyone . Help him.out when needed but has an excuse Everytime you need him . I could be walking down the road needing a lift . He sees you but acts like he don't and just keeps going forgets how people helped him out and puts them down .and calls them losers
On this day in 1970 {July 8th} Kenny Rogers and the First Edition performed "Tell It All Brother" on the ABC-TV program 'The Everly Brothers Show'... Saw Kenny with Dottie West in Greenville, SC in 1980. Great show.
The female member was Mary Arnold. She was married to Roger Miller ( Kenny introduced them ) and she is now the Executor of his Estate.

The way they interacted with Dean was Fantastic only other person from that era who could do that would be Mama Cass,or Dusty Springfield.

Not here! He looks like a young Kristofferson...

*Tell It All Brother*
Tell it all brother, before we fall
Tell it all brothers and sisters
Tell it all
How much you're holding back on me
When you say you're giving all?
And in the dungeons of your mind
Who you got chained to the wall?
Tell it all brother, before we fall
Tell it all brothers and sisters
Tell it ah-ah-aal
Did you plant your feet on higher ground
To avoid life's mud and stone?
Did you ever kick a good man
When he was down, just to make yourself feel strong?
Tell it all brother, before we fall
Tell it all brothers and sisters
Tell it ah-ah-aal

Now is the time
To get your jumbled mind straight
And seek a new design
Did you ever walk before a crippled man
Pretending you were lame?
And what made you think one feeble hand to God
Was gonna make him call your name?
Tell it all brother and sisters
Tell, Tell it all
Tell it all brother, before we fall
Tell it all brothers and sisters, tell
Tell it all brother, before we fall

Awesome for Dean Martin to put Kenny on. Dean loved Country music too. I wouldn’t know how to categorize this song though. Love it for sure.
