♦️ Fun Fact: To this day there are still some not aware that the whole 'hat trick' (illusion), in BTS 'We Are Bulletproof Pt.2, was Jimin's idea & creation, which RM even mentioned & praised Jimin for, as well as many even believe that it was real, since it was executed so well, so precisely. But if you watch either the dance practice, or some live versions, you can see that Jimin still had it in his possession and even put it back on. The way Jimin made it look like he threw it, & the way JK who had an extra hat already in his possession, made it look like he caught it, as well as JK's slick maneuvering the hats, is always still impressively amazing to see. There are also some performances like in BTS 5th Muster concert as well as in the 2019 MAMA awards performance of 'We Are Bulletproof Pt.2, where you can clearly see Jimin tossing the hat away, that he still had in his possession. Jimin has come up with many ideas, added choreo, notes & melodies to songs, just many things that many aren't aware of, since Jimin himself never mentions these things himself. 👍❤️🔥😍🔥
Jin was a guest on the youtube show Nothing Much Prepared. When they basically drink and answer questions…. but Jin said that the reason they are successful and still together is because none of them let the egos get in the way. They conceed to each other and always do what is best for the group, not what is best for them individually.

I don't know if you realize it, but their real name is Bangtan Soyandan which means Bulletproof Boyscouts. Boy, did they get teased for that name! lol But their aggressive and physical dance really set them apart.

I have BANGTAN STYLE in Korean tattooed on my arm, to remind me that I am bulletproof, not matter what happens. It was inspired by DOPE which I recommend POYZENN to watch for sure!!
Believe you me they have been studied by many factors in Korea and the US. They have been discussed in top universities, papers and dissertations have been written, companies trying to figure out what made them so globally famous to replicate or replace with new groups , etc. The “next BTS” failed miserably. To me it’s hard to replicate the visionary CEO who encouraged and supported 7 unique, talented, sincere, emotionally and intellectually talented individuals who wanted to work hard to achieve their dreams and passion. When you start to watch their contents outside of music, such as, Run BTS episodes, Bangtan Bombs episodes, American Hustle Life episodes, In the Soop episodes, The Rise of Bangtan episodes and so much more, you will get to know them and love them as individuals and as a group.
This is such a fun journey with you.

You will find that BTS has lots of part 1, part 2 songs. The latest: Jimin’s Set me free pt 2 from his 2023 album Face, and part 1 was Suga’s Interlude: Set Me Free from his 2020 D-2 mixtape/album. Two very different songs, both are gems. There is also Bulletproof the Eternal, (could be pt3), BTS’s gift to ARMY for 2020 festa. MV is animated and has scenes from many past
MV’s so you may want to wait to see it to understand the references. 💜

Anyone who loves 'baby BTS' are destined to become ARMY! You should also check out the dance practices to see the intricate in sync choreo.
As a newbie it makes sense to react their main music videos but I must stress that BTS make no-skip albums so there are many other amazing tracks to hear that don't have videos. Even in their first three mini albums, what we call 'the skool trilogy'. So I can't wait for an album deep dive!
It is funny you mention Versace. It is a joke within the fandom that at the start BTS wore fake Versace then they did a live concert dripped in the real thing! (see below)💜

Watching people be impressed by the dance break never gets old :) What set Bangtan apart is that made their according to the ages that they were in.
That's why we have the different album trilogies like the School trilogy with 2 Cool 4 Skool, 2. O!RUL8,2? (Oh are you late too?) and Skul Luve Affair etc, etc.

As true hiphop lovers the rapline were very adament about putting in an intro, skit and outro in their earlier albums. It gives an overview of the album but most of all is great way to see the different styles they had back them.
Bang Si-Hyuk (founder of Bighit) told them from the very beginning to write songs that were meaningful to them. Their struggles, opinions, and any topic that was important to them. He gave them Carte blanche.Some of their early work was deemed controversial and not received well. You can see throughout their discography how they grew from boys to men. This is why they've been successful and long lasting. They're writing a book and each chapter (album) depicts who they were and what their views/struggles were during that period of time. I'm subscribed to your channel and always look forward to watching your BTS reactions.

I am so happy you've decided to start from the beginning. If you're interested in a full experience of their discography, there are amazing b sides on all their albums that don't have music videos. Most have live performances tho.
I personally chose to enter the rabbit hole with BTS' full debut stage. I grew up in the era of when ppl normal met new artists during open mics or local shows or college talent showcases, underground rap battles or dance battles or riff-offs (West Coast in the 80s, 90s, 00s). Thats why I wanted to start off from their debut. I also circled back to their pre-debut content & music that is still available. Yes i went deep.

For We Are Bulletproof Pt. 2, they basically had a checkerboard floor, a bright light, some knock-off Versace, random sports equipment, stock images, a glue gun, $14, and a dream. 😭😭😭 They made magic with what they had and they absolutely killed it.
we are bulletproof pt.1 does exist, it has two versions, one from pre-debut (2010) with rm and two trainees who didn’t make it and second one from 2015 with bts, the second one is on sounclound and they have performed it but you can find the first one too somewhere, and in 2020 they also released a song we are bulletproof: the eternal, and jungkook actually has 'bulletproof’ tattooed ok him
The 2 trainees: Iron who left when they moved to an idol format and passed away in 2021, and Supreme Boi who stayed on with Bighit/Hybe as a
Songwriter with credits in many BTS songs and with other groups like TXT and Le Serrafim. He is also featured with the rap line in Cypher pt 3.
So, the We are Bulletproof (pt.1) was a RM and Sugar pre-debut song. When they have a pt. 2 its a song that was inspired by a solo song by one of the members. Airplane by J-Hope. Airplane pt.2 by BTS. People by IU and Sugar. Peaople pt.2 by Suga. Set Me Free by Sugar. Set Me Free pt.2 by Jimin. just to give you a few examples.
And they still perform that dance break as is live.

They worked so hard from the beginning so get to this point in their careers when they made this video…years of practice, living together, eating their meals together…just pure magic!! I love watching baby Army discover their old content!
4:52 Their choreos are really impressive and you will definitely see and appreciate them more if you watch the dance practices. What’s even more amazing about this is years later, I think it’s 2019 (I could be wrong), they performed it live at an award show and they’re even better.

Even though it's been Army for a long time, I'm still surprised by the dance break in this song, the way J-Hope "lays down" on the floor and Jimin does that jump on top is something surprising and cool 🛐

Many of the Part 1 songs are found in their solo track's. J-Hope had Airplane and the group does Airplane 2, Agust D (Suga) did Set Me Free, then Jimin did Set Me Free part 2, etc.

This is one of my favorite early BTS songs. They are just fire in her!💗
BTS is a phenomenon. And many are still surprised how a group that debuted in a small company back in 2013 was able to become the most popular and unsurpassed! Seven guys, completely different in character and in their vocal and dancing abilities (after all, some of them could not dance at all) - managed to become not just the best group, but the coolest and invincible!
They are now where they should have been - because they had a great desire to become the first and the best, they gave their all, did not leave the training halls, sacrificed a lot for their success, in order to become what they are now - kings! And not only K-pop, but also the world! Moreover, they became support and support for each other - a real family! And this gives them enormous strength to move higher and higher, further and further! And remained on top, breaking countless records, both as a group and solo, even when they took a temporary break from their group career due to military service.

Fun fact... they had no money back then and their "versace" clothes were knock off versions, they were made fun of and mocked, told they will never make it big... fast forward to a couple of years ago they performed this on a stadium stage wearing genuine Versace .... these boys showed the world they truly are Bulletproof. 😅

Oh. How nice to wake up to Leonardo Decaprio reacting to BTS. What a nice surprise. You look a little different from your movies. But Hollywood makeup does Magic. A liitle history. In 2010...RM, IRON, and Supreme Boi wrote "Bulletproof". It was pre BTS, but you can find it on UA-cam. Then in 2015, 2 years after "Bulletproof Pt. 2", "Bulletproof Pt. 1" is introduced at BTS Festa. Part 1 and 2 are both reworked versions of the original "Bulletproof". And In 2020 another version. On their "Map of the Soul" album, they introduce "Bulletproof: The Eternal". I know. It's confusing. "Bulletproof Pt. 1 Live" is on UA-cam. Obviously, any of the versions of the song would not have been appropriate for any Hip Hop group to drop in the U.S. It probably would have started a gang war here. However, in Korea there are no guns anywhere. The term "Bulletproof" was used as a metaphor. And everyone in their culture got it immediately. BTS wanted to explain no matter the hate and negative comments and gossip and lies thrown at them like bullets...they were going to endure anything "shot" at them. Notice the Bulletproof vest in the final shot of "No More Dream". Remember. They were the poor group. Not part of the famous Big Three companies at the time. Rumors of them lip syncing and not able to really sing ran rampant! No one wanted them to succeed! In fact, they were told they would Never make it!!! Please see below for more important info.

Jimin created "The hat trick" as a trainee. Mr. Son Sung-Duek, their choreographer, decided to add it to the choreography of "Bulletproof" to create a WOW moment for the audience. It wasn't in the original choreography.
Your idea to study their choreography is a great idea. Ding. Ding. Ding. And to study their success and how they made it...another great idea. Ding. Ding. Ding. "These boys need to be studied. How were they able to do this"? Guess what? Every year of their existence, a "scientist" as in a professor or a music critic or a cultural study or a Ted Talk or interview was written or lectured or discussed or videoed by professionals throughout the years! I'll let you do the research. All those studies are out there. And fascinating. How did they start so poor and overcome the Big Three KPop companies to become #1 and stay there??? Big Hit could hardly believe it. The boys had NO idea they would ever get this Big. They are major stock holders in their company and now multimillionaires!! And now humbly serving in the military. But still winning awards for their solo work! They are dedicated to starting Chapter 2 when they all get back together in 2025.

We Are Bulletproof Pt 1 was a pre-debut song with their original all rap lineup, before the vocalists joined the group. They later reworked it for their current lineup and you can find a live performance of it at Enjoy BTS More channel. You will recognize it as the music playing at the intro section of their debut MV for No More Dream.
PLEASE! check out my comment on your No More Dream reaction and listen to some B-Sides or the whole albums! Only hitting the MV singles is a really narrow look at what they could do right off the bat. The albums and B-Sides show a lot more.

Their impossible rise as independent industry outsiders. How did they do it. There are lots of talented kids. It's their group dynamic. Its their relationship support and respect of each other. Industry road blocks death threats, racism and the most punishing schedules of any artist ever. They coped with humour and goofyness supporting each others dreams. They allowed each other to grow as individuals celebrating the others successes. This can be seen clearly in TAYLOR MARI GUIDE TO THE BANGTAN 7. The most entertaining guide. Guaranteed to make you smile it makes 45 minutes seem like 11. So many reactors announce they are going to watch it in 2 parts watch it all the way through, despite the slow readers having to pause here and there. Highly reccomend it.

Missing Part 1’s: Bulletproof part 1 was a pre-debut track that never was released on any album. You can find it online. There is also Bulletproof the Eternal that was released in 2020 on the Map of the Soul 7 album.
Set Me Free - part 1 is on Suga’s mixtape. Jimin released his part 2 on his debut solo album.
Change - Part 1 refers to the song by RM and Wale. Change part 2 is a solo song on RM’s album Indigo.
Friends - Jimin & V have a song called Friends which is dedicated to their friendship. Then V released Fri(end)s recently. Same name but different.

Yes these boys and their skills has and continues to evolve. As army suggested it will be fun for a reactor like you to go back and see where they started and look through eyes of the times. of course if you watch current content, you will think going back might seem lack-luster. But trust me when you get into the introduction video for BTS you will be mind blown when you watch their award show performances because much of the bts content is a connecting journey. happy journey. oh yeah have ya found a bts song you do not like yet? lol

There are others... they all will give you some background and an understanding of the members and their music. The deeper that you get into BTS you will realize what sets them apart. They were definitely promoted differently and EVERYTHING they did was recorded. We have gotten to really get to know them and their personalities. They also talk about accepting Everyone.... Race, gender, age there's a reason ARMY is so massive.💜 You should check out RUN BTS eventually.
I read somewhere that they said they used fake designer clothes and scribbled on tshirts for their costumes. Maybe a veteran army can confirm. 😊

Love this reaction, but NOPE, you got to watch the dance videos for there introduction and the dance video for the debuts you just watched. BTS were on another level from jump. The choreo was hard back then and just as in sync as it is today, but I think even more intense because of the style of music. It's smoother now because the music has less edge for the most part, although when they have an intense song, the choreo is still intense. Mind you Jimin was the last member and only had 6 months as a member of BTS to get ready for debut so they really had about 6 months to train all together as a unit. These guys were special and hungry, famished and practiced till they dropped. Their documentaries tell stories about them working to the point of sleeping in the practice room. Hope you do a reaction to a couple of the dance practices. Please be sure to get those from BangtanTV, BTS' official channel. Enjoy BTS more is good for their early stuff and lives without captions, but it's always best to use their official channel and video when possible as the majority of their work has English subs on that channel.
