The story's wisdom in highlighting the difference between detachment and resistance is eye-opening, showing that true letting go comes from love, not from anger. 🙏

I moved on from my family because I was not loved. I was abandoned. I got married and made my own life. I didn't feel pain or anger. I felt free and still do. Wisest thing I've ever done.

Very true … cutting someone off doesn’t free you from the pain …realisation and letting go bring peace and acceptance.
    I love your analogies

Is 'cutting off' not the same as 'letting go' in practice?

@ well my understanding is you have a conversation with someone and reach a decision … and internal realisation that it’s time to move on which is where letting go comes in … letting go of what you had and being at peace… wishing them well and knowing that there is something better for you .

Also, cutting someone off often involves not having a conversation or having closure with the person involved
Which just creates more issues if you need closure

Some people have relationships that grow until death separates them. I wanted that kind of love. Have not found it and have had to leave many relationships behind. It hurts to leave someone that you love. I don’t know how I can stop that. If you can let go without pain my hat off to you.

Maybe there is better analogy than rivers or ocean? In western philosophy, some says that rock have no fear or sadness. Since man is unlike rocks or vegetation, so man is not like river or ocean too. Do you think this makes sense?

Allowing a relationship to pass is one thing, cutting off someone you love seems another. Define, "cut off". Difficult to cut off that which one's loves unless something compromised the love.

האחיזה היא טרגדיה. עם זאת, היא ההשרדות עצמה. אין אף אדם חי שלא תלוי במישהו או במשהו, חוץ מאלה שנתלו על עץ.
