    Lyrics:
When you fall asleep with your head upon my shoulder
When you're in my arms but you've gone somewhere deeper
Are you going to age with grace?
Are you going to age without mistakes?
Are you going to age with grace?
Or only to wake and hide your face?
When oblivion is calling out your name
You always take it further than I ever can
When you play it hard and I try to follow you there
It's not about control, but I turn back when I see where you go
Are you going to age with grace?
Are you going to leave a path to trace?
When oblivion is calling out your name
You always take it further than I ever can
When oblivion is calling out your name
You always take it further than I ever can

This is about an addictive lifestyle. Dan is looking at/holding a friend or lover who has taken themselves to another place through drink/drugs. He is saying he can't follow them there - they go further, to an extreme which he cannot bring himself to go to. He doesn't want to control them but has to turn back when he sees where it leads them. "Are you going to age with grace, are you going to age without mistakes...?" - I think the answer to this is, sadly, no. This gives the song its poignancy. Like many gifted artists, he is taking a potentially frightening or upsetting experience and turning it into a beautiful song. There is no judgement of the other person here - just concern for their them, for the shame they feel when they come round ("only to wake and hide your face" and for their future. The whole song is filled with a sense of wonder.

When Dan sings high it sounds so good and it's like magic I can't stop listen to him *--*it's like that I forget all my problems when he begins to sing and you can FEEL it that he loves it.
I have a dream, I wanna do that one day too because music is my life and escape and I'm so glad that they're artists who can sing....
I can't understand why people start to get a `fan` of one person who already can't sing! It's sad that most of the people only look if they look good....
When I first listened to Bastille or U2,Imagine Dragons I didn't know how they looked like for months and I didn't care about this because this bands have incredible voices and it's about the music.
Sorry that I've written so much idk why but I had to say it. xD

If you have ever loved someone who struggles with a mental illness. This song will hit home for you. I have a long family history of it. I tended to a bi-polar- depressed-narcissistic personality disorder- PTSD, heart attack/patient, mother, post stroke. It was the hardest time of my life, and I was pregnant during the height of it. To those who stand by the ones they love. To those that stay even though it's impossibly difficult to see. To those who have watched those we love be destroyed by their own demons. To the caregivers of the mentally ill, you are the unsung heroes,.The silent warriors who fight the battle everyday. I live in fear of someday slipping into oblivion. I don't want to end up like that. Genetically, it's bound to happen. I don't wish that on my family. I listen to this as a reminder to keep my head above the water.
This song touches my soul in every way. It's truly an inspiration to stay happy, and strong for those we love.

Dan, I am in awe of your vocal range. I don't know anyone (and I mean no one) who can go as high and as low as you do. You have a real gift, and you seem to enjoy your work. Keep it coming.

Every day I seem to come back and watch Bastille acoustics. Even though I've seen them hundreds of times before. Urrgh...just incredible! Every single one of them. And every part of it. Dan with his haunting vocals and beautifully written lyrics/melodies and the Will, Kyle and Woody providing the absolutely perfect harmonies in every song and all of them playing instruments to such a high standard. They're just talent: defined.
