I appreciate the permission to step back to hit the ball off bounce vs. digging for trash. Too often I try to take out of the air to limit opponents time and miss it.
Great video. Your sense of humor adds to the fun. Do you reset back to a continental grip after you hit your rolls? Looks kind of like you did before the huge swat at 13:17 :)
I so totally dig for trash, but I had not idea what I was supposed to do instead, at least not until watching this video. I'm 6'5" so I can often reach the trash still in the yellow zone, not that I can do much with the ball at such an extreme extension, other that shock the opponents that I got the ball out of the air in the first place.
Okay, I just spend five minutes pounding the heck out of Google to find a diagram for the "extreme" continental grip. The phrase is used colloquially in some chat forums, but not a single diagram came up in image search. Does the progression go extreme continental, continental, eastern? Or does the progression go continental, extreme continental, eastern? Would the extreme side please stand up? My enchanted Arabian turban is failing me here. And I'm fresh out of oil lamps.
"Nobody chases trash. Get outta here!" 😆Always awesome instruction! Thanks, TM!
Don’t be chasing trash 😂
Excellent, comprehensive teaching on the roll volley. Better than Ben's.
Good stuff. Just watched Tyson and Martinez kill it today. Good luck in the finals tomorrow!
Really good video! Who makes that hat by the way? Is that available?
Thank you Tyson! And congratulations on your new baby!
Thanks
Tyson this is a great video. Thank you excellent drills to help myself and others take things to the next level.
Thanks rich!
Grip: HF & BH roll volley the same or BH: continential & FH: eastern or Semi Western grip??? Thank so much. ❤

Don’t be trashy 😉
Thanks Tyson! I totally grasped this today, and had great shots with my Lobster ball machine today. Fab tips!
Great job! This is such a fun shot when you get the hang of it!

Yes. I always want to be ready for a punch volley in continental but I can tweak the grip a little when I have time for certain shots.
Great drills, excellent and clear content..
Thanks Scott!
Kudos to Charity for being Tyson's drill partner in this video. Most of us would be a nervous wreck around Tyson.
Love this shot!
👏👏👏👏👏

Glad the video helped! No more chasing trash for you!
Great content!
Glad you enjoyed it! We'll keep them coming!
Tyson,
Try this with 2 tone balls so students can see what happens with the spin/rotation...
It really helps..
Interesting idea. I like it 👍
I thought I been liked this video!
where is this facility? Looks nice
How do you switch from extreme continental if you quickly have to take a forehand Rolly volley. Thx
You are only using a roll volley if you have time like when its coming off a drop or something floaty 👍

Yes, the progression is extreme continental, continental, and eastern.
How can you have time to change grips during a speed up exchange!? Isn’t it best to just use one grip- continental being the best compromise?
