Hi Tyson, I love your videos and recommend them almost daily. The biggest issue I have is spelling your last name for folks! Anyway, my question is on grip. I took a great lesson with Sarah D in Austin and she stopped my former tennis habit of shifting my grip from western (forehand) to continental (volleys / backhand). I now have a slightly western grip for everything but struggle a bit with my backhand punch and block volley as I strain a bit getting my knuckles down. I like having my forehand with a little western in it as it is my strength. Trying to decide whether to train my backhand punch / block to handle a little western or fully switch to continental for everything. It appears you have a little western tilt to your grip. I know it may be subtle but wondering your thoughts on whether you cheat a bit to western and if so how that affects your backhand volley?
You mentioned if you are in the appropriate grip with the backhand punch volley, you will be fine. Is the "appropriate grip" continental or a backhand Eastern, slightly turned to the left?
You teach so well. I will watch and share all your videos. Great game against Ben johns yesterday. You played so masterful. I'm gonna buy all your gear now lol. I a cancer survivor and a business man. I would love to invite you in my facility. I own 1100 acres of land here in New York upstate. I only have 5 outdoor pickleball courts right now. But I really want to build a huge pickleball sports complex.
from the dinks onward, I see the all 4 and that's where all the focus is going for now. great at patiently repeating fundamentally important points
Thanks 🙏🏻
