Some jamming/impro during "Oslo Kulturnatt 2012". Enjoy! The track is by Michael Schack.
Please rate and share:)
He was using polyrhythms. A drummer this good doesn't make mistakes like that. Especially when he has probably practised this over and over again before this show.
Great show Baard! You're one crazy-ass drummer :D
My autistic brother who can't talk and doesn't know too much about the world loves your music. He was clapping after every video of yours, and he got really excited. You're really talented, keep it up!
And you played better than anyone's business through the whole video.
Love the new hair, loved it before too. Go Baard!
Awesome Baard Kolstad that is Amazing your Awesome.
Keep dong what you're doing. Just incredible.
Fair enough.
Kult, Baard!
NICEEEEEEEEE i love it
Braaaaaa Baaaaaaard! HURRA!
It's quite common in prog rock. It takes a while to get the hang of it, that's all.
The meter's only countable in fractions. It meets up with the quad meter somewhere.

Didn't practice? Do you know that from 0:40 he was playing triples in the bass drum and playing a kind of 3 over 2 in the hands while accenting the half time of the triplets beat??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought it sounded pretty fucking awesome tbh, he was playing drums around the beat as opposed to on it. It was really well done, particularly the accenting on the ride cymbal.
That's 4 over 3. Now who's confused?
im no drummer but there sounds like a gap just after 0:41
Nothing like people who don't know the craft trying to talk like they do. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to pull shit like that off?
Improvisation in his comment above suggest he didn't practice. I guess it is some technique, call it what you will but 0:40 to about 1:00 whatever you call it doesn't sound very good.
Before 0:40 and after 1:00 though, MIND BLOWN. Really nice.
It was more like a metric modulation
I think that the complex articulation of the beats he was putting out went over some folks head. Lol. Too much to process for such simple minds.....
Please tell me that was a joke.
