The thing I loved most about "France 1940" was the many alternative options for France. It lets you see how France might have done if they were not stuck in WW1
AH France 1940 is one of my favorites, I owned it back in the day and played it a bazillion times. I recently bought a used copy to get it back into my library. Some of the critical assessments I've read about it make more sense now that I'm not playing it as a 12 year old, especially the choice to give German infantry a combat value of 7 and French infantry a combat value of 6, so that any Counter-Attack result in which French infantry counter-attack German infantry will be at lower odds. Kind of tilts it against the French.
I have the tri-pack and looking forward to volume 2. I also have Rhode Island, Savannah, and soon White Plains. I use a fairly simple solo system for choosing cards. I have always been more interested in the Revolution than Napoleonics or the ACW, which are far more fertile grounds for wargaming.,
Wow, you're building up a nice collection! I had three overlaps with you, but my old Avalon Hill France 1940 game has counters that are badly misprinted. Good to see you joining the ranks of submariners, too. I've yet to play Beneath the Med but they are all great. And nice snag getting the France '40 GMT game. I have it on P500 so it'll be a while for me.
That's Funny Zilla, I keep saying the same thing when I watch your game updates. Also, I am always looking at your back shelf, and I see a lot of the games that I have too. Yeah, the France '40 was a great snag. (I will be there in October, I can check to see if there is another one available).

It is a good game and one I never got to play as much as I wanted to. Hopefully that will change soon.

Where you been guiding the avalon hill games? Ebay or somewhere else?
Some on E-bay Murph and more actually on Game Board Geek, they are owned by gamers and I find that they are better cared for.

@@murph-4 I searched some years the AH "Air Assault on Crete", and finally found it on E-Bay for 35$. So you can hope 😊
