"YOU" are one heck of a mechanic I've ever seen, except my Dad he could do everything to, he wasn't a teacher and you are witch I really enjoy watching you work. Thank you Paul, HAPPY FATHERS DAY" My dad was Paul to.
I don’t get why anyone would thumbs down this video. Why would anyone not like this content? This is like the most wholesome videos on UA-cam and I truly enjoy watching all you guys do.
The fact that you have had the parts for this for 15 years makes me feel better about my projects in various stages of disassembly for the past 5 to 20 years. 😂
My friends dad had his 54 Cadillac standing in his garage since the middle of the 80s in his garage just waiting for him to start renovating it and he began like 3 years ago. (This is in sweden here they arent that common)
Paul it is quite a pleasure watching you work! This is not easy work but you are a seasoned specialist. These vids will help out lots of rookie DIY'ers for years to come.
Reminds me of the late 70's we took King pin bushing out of my straight axle 1960 Ford stepside retired forestry truck 6 cyl. 4 speed with double low and positive traction rear end. My Dad and i done them so hard to get old ones out.Happy Fathers Day to all & the Father's who showed their kids how to work on your own rigs!!! Good times!!
Only paid advertisement I have actually watched all the way through. You make great commercials! Papa Dar definitely pulls off that long hair. Nice work on the axel. That came out great.
Hello from Cape Town , South Africa.....been a huge fan of your channel for awhile now. I enjoy every video that you upload. Being a mechanic by trade i love to see you guys building and repairing stuff. Stay safe!!! Willem Conradie
Quick tip. Run a thin cutoff disc on a grinder around the base of the king pin. Cut in about 3/8s of an inch to cut the rust on the flat. A little heat and a few ugga duggas and they come right out. Learned that the hard way lol nice work on that axle
Like these vids so much gonna watch them again. Such a great build , wish some day I could build a truck just a " half enchilada" as nice as urs and I'd be through the roof happy. Thanks for recording
Watch the Whsitlin Diesel video of the Toyota Hilux at Moab. He absolutely abuses those same ball style hubs like nothing I have ever seen and nothing breaks. That front end will never break. Awesome.
Wow. That was a seriously labor intensive project on that front-end. Hopefully it's indestructible.. It looks awesome 👌, especially that steering set-up. That looks sweet as well. Hopefully you have a nice radius with an adaptive lock-2-lock without any interference. Right on FabRats...
Theres definitley some competitiveness with their channels but its a good kind of competitiveness to push eachother - not to say one is better than the other but to recognize where they came from
You WORKED those ball joints!! Man that was TIGHT!! Glad you put the steering arms on the correct position this time Paul!! Gonna be a amazing crawler I'm sure!!
The trick I learned to remove those pins is to pour cold water inside them after heating the knuckle to shrink the pin. Then immediately give it a quick yank with 3' bar. Keep up the great work!
one thing I've learned from watching your videos is that, its not just me, that starts a project and finds out some of the parts i need for the day are not right and or missing lmao. i thought i just was bad at planning but its just the reality of making anything
That right stuff is the best for front & rear seals on Chevy, intakes manifolds never had one leak after throwing gaskets away & puting right stuff In place of them! Wouldn't use anything but.not cheap but get what u pay for lol thake care & god bless
I first started watching Matt and his road rescue show. On one of his shows I saw you were friends. On this video I see you are from Glendale. I'm from Hunt, Texas and spent 2 summers of my high school years working for my dad's uncle Whit MacDonald. His ranch was on the corner of the intersection of the road to Alton. We baled and stacked hay as well as dug the irrigation ditch across the meadow at that intersection. Also you or Matt mentioned going to Todd's Place. The original owner Todd was friends with my dad and Whit. The ranch just south of Whit's was owned by Graham MacDonald. These guys were brothers to my Grandmother. I also have many relatives in St. George and Hurricaine. Small world. Enjoy both your shows. Great work.
That is a small world, because his great granddaughter happens to be one of my best friends! I sent her a screen shot of your comment and she would LOVE to get in contact with you! If you will email us at thefabrats@gmail.com and give us your number then I will pass it along to her! Thanks for reaching out!
If you're wondering why the king pins are tight is because they are torqued to 600 ft lbs. Paul didn't torque the replacements to that. The torque wrench for that level of torque is a nominal $1000. Basically you don't go to harbor freight to get a torque wrench. This is Proto or Snap On type tools.
$79 3/4" Neiko digital torque adapter is good up to 750lb/ft. Used one on Dana 80 Pinion nut, seems like the most cost effective way for occasional use when the additional length isn't a problem.
Sweet vid Paul and Fab Rats crew. Just shoe horned a 5.3LS into my 93 4runner. Now it's time to rebuild the "waggy" D44's I'm putting under it. RCV for the win!!!
A trick to get the king pin out is to take a cut off wheel and cut right above the inner C into the pin. Just cut a groove not all the way through. This will release the pressure.
Is that Papa Dar or Fabio at the end? Seeing Papa Dar in drag made my week. Great build Paul, love to see that you make mistakes like we all do (but you fix them), your creations are inspiring.
"Keeps" uh...'segment'.is still pretty funny. Landon and and the team got To the Championship, and that's dang good Period./I never saw the silicone?bearing covers before. That's awesome.(Could've used them on my 77 Toronado). Can't wait to see more on this build,as we don't come Fall.
The diff-sliders were good. They stopped the edge of the axel case digging into stuff. And stopped the cover bolts getting whacked. *can’t be seized if it’s a liquid :D
hi good morning, just want to start off by saying you guys are amazing I love your videos. and I live how u gave the Taco hell at the Rubicon... that beast preformed AWESOME and I was really impressed. Keep on rocking fab rats. blessings for u and your loved ones. checking in from San Diego California. 👍😎👍
When the king pin on the passenger side of my 60 finally broke loose, I pinched the end of my finger on the top of the housing. It pretty much blew the end of my finger open. They are a pain to break loose.
Check out the new shirts here!! www.thefabrats.com
just ordered mine. Can't wait to get it and start a WV fabrats fanclub.
The blue was sold out, dang

That's OK if they are your own projects. Not so good if they are projects your wife asked you to get around to.
My friends dad had his 54 Cadillac standing in his garage since the middle of the 80s in his garage just waiting for him to start renovating it and he began like 3 years ago.
(This is in sweden here they arent that common)
I'm thinking the same thing. I have half a dozen projects sitting around my shop on various stages of completion. Lol!
Iam so amazed that you can take all those parts, and change things and put it all back and it runs like better than new, your very talented.
Paul it is quite a pleasure watching you work! This is not easy work but you are a seasoned specialist. These vids will help out lots of rookie DIY'ers for years to come.
I love your commercials. Not only do I weld and beat on metal, I also care about pre mature balding. You guys fix everything.

You`re too humble. That Taco of yours seem mighty sure footed to me from what I`ve seen it do.
It looked good on the Rubicon.
Taco seems likes a pretty solid rig! Congrats Landon on your baseball season!!
You did that without cussing. I am really impressed.
Only paid advertisement I have actually watched all the way through. You make great commercials! Papa Dar definitely pulls off that long hair.
Nice work on the axel. That came out great.
While you had that front end on the table I was just waiting for the "it's backwards" moment that happened during the last build. lol
That's turned out like a work of art. It will be nice to watch the whole build come together.
HUGE THANK YOU TO KEEPS.
you made the right decision, helping out a guy and his gal..
Hello from Cape Town , South Africa.....been a huge fan of your channel for awhile now. I enjoy every video that you upload. Being a mechanic by trade i love to see you guys building and repairing stuff. Stay safe!!! Willem Conradie
Great content, Paul you & your family are such positive individuals

Another great video you teaching your sons how to build and fix there owns vehicles is awesome get that crawler done
17:44 That's ART my friend. Beautiful
Mixing and matching parts to make it work. You are very knowledgeable. Happy father's day.
Dang it. I love these videos. Can't wait to see the rest of the crawler build.
Wow !! That front end looks stout!! nice build! Cheers from Montana!
Like these vids so much gonna watch them again. Such a great build , wish some day I could build a truck just a " half enchilada" as nice as urs and I'd be through the roof happy.
Thanks for recording
Going to be such an awesome rig when your done with it Paul . Looking forward to your next video . Happy fathers day to you !! Take care .
Good stuff! Papa Dar 🤣!! Paul you are a bad azz!! Definitely one of my favorite channels!!
Watch the Whsitlin Diesel video of the Toyota Hilux at Moab. He absolutely abuses those same ball style hubs like nothing I have ever seen and nothing breaks. That front end will never break. Awesome.

Exactly what Mr. Rollins just said!
Paul that is one beast of a front end. It'll still be beating hell outta rocks at the second coming!
Looks like you and Matt are having a race. I'm definitely watching yours first.
Theres definitley some competitiveness with their channels but its a good kind of competitiveness to push eachother - not to say one is better than the other but to recognize where they came from
I'm assuming this is a new front-end for his white Toyota?
Doesn’t matter which one you watch first as long as you watch both
@@genesnyder2985 Exactly
@@tomlucasrccrawlers9108 nope, there's a rock crawler build going on. I assume it's for that.
Glad to see that I'm not the only one who has projects 5-15 years in the making. Thanks for sharing.
You WORKED those ball joints!! Man that was TIGHT!!
Glad you put the steering arms on the correct position this time Paul!! Gonna be a amazing crawler I'm sure!!
I love how thrilled Paul is in the promo
Get that thing done! You build everyone a rock crawler but you always get yours pushed to the side! Paul it is your turn to build yours!!!
You always put others first, glad you had time for yourself!
Watching you build yours while I should be working on mine.
The trick I learned to remove those pins is to pour cold water inside them after heating the knuckle to shrink the pin. Then immediately give it a quick yank with 3' bar. Keep up the great work!
The banjo and fiddle music while they're fighting those fittings was perfect!
Papa Dar with the wig on always cracks me up..cool video Paul and Michelle! Always look forward to your posts.
Got my new shirt today and really like the material it's made with, also fits perfectly. Thanks for the merch and great videos.
Wow that front end is a work of art! Nice job. However Michele once again steals the spotlight. Great video!!
one thing I've learned from watching your videos is that, its not just me, that starts a project and finds out some of the parts i need for the day are not right and or missing lmao. i thought i just was bad at planning but its just the reality of making anything
I don't think I've ever seen Paul torque anything down, that's my kinda guy! I haven't used a torque wrench in years.
Pipe wrench, cheater bar & ratchet down. Then "ping"...the satisfaction of tossing something in the floor. That's wrenchin' 👍😄 Great work Paul
Happy Father's Day I love your videos.
Love the channel. Makes me feel like getting back on the horse and tackling some projects
You should put together a parts list with everything you used so people like me can copy you😉
Team work makes the dream work your son did a awesome job helping you with the upper thing amagigs!!!!!!!
I want that tow truck and the wood hauler. They’re just beautiful.
Looking good. Nice to see someone else struggle to get bits off old trucks😁
Nice steering idea . Happy Father's day
Paul, I think they put the permanent locktite on those parts 😉
Do you ever notice how much faster it goes the 2nd or 3rd time putting it together 😉😖
Excited to see the rest of the build.💪🏼💪🏼
Vegas calling!!! Love you guys!!! ... I’ll get some merchandise soon...and HFD!!!!!
That was me 2 weeks ago getting my tie rod ends off 😆 Love the solid axle content. You guys are killing it!!!!!!!!!!
At 10:50 you showed us how to test the truss! Good stuff!
You're a Mentor for me bro I never knew about car basics and mechanics and you teach me more every video!
That right stuff is the best for front & rear seals on Chevy, intakes manifolds never had one leak after throwing gaskets away & puting right stuff In place of them! Wouldn't use anything but.not cheap but get what u pay for lol thake care & god bless

That was funny when Paul turned an said that’s tight. Lol. Great Videos
Yup, love the orange and Black.
Should have Dar wear a different wig for every Keeps commercial! Would love to see Dar rock a ginger Afro wig! 🤣 Keep up the great content! 👍👍👍
That’s actually a great idea!😂

Absolutely the best commercial I have ever seen
Such an adorable elderly lady !
Sweet vid Paul and Fab Rats crew. Just shoe horned a 5.3LS into my 93 4runner. Now it's time to rebuild the "waggy" D44's I'm putting under it. RCV for the win!!!
Wow, that's some front end, can't wait to see what's next.
He's gaining subs FAST! Way to go! Good content!
Happy Father’s Day from East Texas ✌
Your Taco is gonna be the “Taco Supreme”! Cannot wait to see your rock crawling build.
A trick to get the king pin out is to take a cut off wheel and cut right above the inner C into the pin. Just cut a groove not all the way through. This will release the pressure.
Paul is so excited doing that commercial.
The finished axel looks huge and made for an army truck. That will surely last for ever.
We have a few projects on the back burner also
Meshelle , Sometimes its where the Hair is that matters to be a Realman ! 😎👍
Papa Dar made me laugh with thst wig on 😂 I miss seeing hom at thet Shop please come by more papa Dar 😢
Is that Papa Dar or Fabio at the end? Seeing Papa Dar in drag made my week. Great build Paul, love to see that you make mistakes like we all do (but you fix them), your creations are inspiring.

Hey Fabulous!, Fantastic!, 🐀's, Happy pop's day!!👍👍
I got my tow truck shirt ordered!!!!
I got my answer, when I watched to the end of the video. THANK YOU..
I really wanna drive from Michigan to have you work on my Jeep. I have a Ford 8.8 and a axle swap kit from iron rock I need a hand with 😂
Happy Father’s Day!! Keep up the awesome vids!!
Happy Father's day Paul!! Your awesome buddy!!! I wish you were my dad haha!!
I've been waiting to see that vent fan get installed for two months....and all I got was the before and after. Lol.
looks like that truss would be excellent at getting full of mud & rocks
Wow I have never seen a welding of the trusses being real tight like this one
Nice!! I want to see the Chevy build?!
Did you clearance the breather hole with the hole wide open putting slag in the diff?
The diff-sliders were good. They stopped the edge of the axel case digging into stuff. And stopped the cover bolts getting whacked. *can’t be seized if it’s a liquid :D
Lol that thing was tight as hell well done bud that front end looks pretty cool
“That was tight” … understatement of the video.
