Trust me the British police are no saints them being nice is just a facade to make you lower your guard and say something that will incriminate yourself. Notice how this cop was attempting to get the van driver to say he was intentionally blocking the speed camera van which would be an offense.
Also to add they have a very patronising tone when they get mad and speak to you like a naughty child, I'd honestly rather be shouted at rudely and threatened to be killed if I don't stop dicking around like the US cops do.

Since all speed cameras have been required to be clearly seen and sign posted, the camera van has become the tool of choice for revenue chasing councils. Their hit and run approach, by parking up for a few hours then moving on, can only be interpreted as a way of catching people out. man who deliberately blocked a safety camera van in Bradford has received a conditional caution and faces losing his vehicle if he repeats his behaviour.
Police were carrying out enforcement work in the Thornton area of Bradford last Friday (14 July) when the 67-year-old parked his vehicle and raised the bed of his tipper truck to obstruct the camera operator.
He was interviewed under caution yesterday (Thursday, 20 July) and admitted wilfully obstructing a policing support officer acting in the execution of their duty.
Paul Jeffrey, Head of the Prosecutions and Casualty Prevention Unit, said: "Dangerous and inappropriate speed continues to cause crashes that result in avoidable deaths and serious injury. We remain committed to promoting safe speeds across the road network.
"On this occasion a driver chose to stop and attempt to obstruct the lawful enforcement of speed limits. It is a criminal offence to wilfully obstruct a safety camera operator in the execution of their duty and we will investigate all such incidents.
"Our staff are working to keep road users safe, and drivers who choose to speed run the risk of being the cause of a tragedy or being prosecuted for speeding. I would encourage all drivers to drive carefully, within the limit and at a speed appropriate to the road conditions."
The tipper truck driver was given a conditional caution with conditions prohibiting him from parking within 20 metres of any mobile speed enforcement vehicle or doing anything to willingly obstruct their view, and to remove all social media posts relating to him committing this or other offences. He was also issued with a Section 59 Notice under the Police Reform Act which means a repeat of this behaviour may result in the seizure of his vehicle.

*My reply to a "justifying do gooder" which I think deserves a bigger audience! -*
"Yeah... Bought to you by the same "good people" who rescinded on making the QEII crossing free about 10 years ago, once construction costs were paid, which was written into statute law.
These are the thieves who clobbered me *£80* for going into the *ULEZ* zone in London DESPITE me having called them up within an allotted time & them being unable to tell me if I had been in the zone & needed to pay (I was unsure if I had) but then becoming "sure" enough to send me an £80PCN for not paying.
As these thieves were unable to give me the required information at the time, I offered to pay the normal tariff, again within the given 24 hr. period, on the basis they could give me a reference number & refund me if the payment hadn't needed to be paid - Which they refused to do!
An appeal to TFL & a further so called "independent" arbitration party later I was still £80 down a hole. It was only when I used up a nuclear option of calling on a good friend of mine who is high up in national print media, & threatened to expose their little scam that I got a full refund! The poachers turned game keepers the RAC & AA were also totally uninterested in this motorists plight & they are now firmly in my sights for losing the plot as to who they should help & support & instead are up to their necks in hookers & gin pulling *£3K* a pop for speed awareness courses!
*Get over yourself!* Like I say people weren't bowling pedestrians over like skittles pre cameras & I have driven over 2 million miles in a social & professional capacity without hitting *ANYONE* despite being now made to feel I'm responsible for as many deaths as *Pol Pot* & there are millions like me!
Clobber people on phones, driving dangerously & dangerously over speeding but leave decent people like me alone otherwise you will be on the wrong side of a social whirlwind that is a brewing!"

B B no they are not none of the scamera vans or even bikes parked in accident black spots in this area they don’t park near schools they park in 20mph trading estates and big roads looking to catch people a couple of miles over the speed limit I agree with them if they were parked in areas such as schools and black spots but they don’t they park in areas where they think they can catch the few doing a couple of miles over without realising they are doing it

Where I live, there have been children killed on roads. It's strange, they never have cameras there. What the do though is set up to catch drivers increasing their speed on the A56 (I think) which is linked and identical to the M66. They also like to do that the opposite way to, to catch people who haven't slowed in time to 50mph. There is also a terrible blind junction nearby where loads of accidents happen and near misses happen daily. It would be so much safer with a simple convex mirror. The council won't put one up though.
So many of these cameras main priority is about generating money, safety is way down the list.
