A dad who was forced to sell his dream car 15 years ago to support his family could not believe his eyes when he opened his barn door to see the vehicle in which he shared so many happy memories waiting for him. After years of trying, Denny Harvey's family had secretly tracked down his 1959 Edsel Ranger, purchased it and planned a big surprise. According to Denny's son, Anthony, from McCordsville, Indiana, his father had had first purchased the car in 1990, and some of his fondest memories as a child were sitting on his father's lap as he took the vehicle for a spin. Denny loved the vehicle, his family said, and he would take it to car shows with his late brother until he got caught up in bills in 2004. Thinking the car would bring in the most money, which he desperately needed, Denny was forced to sell his beloved Edsel and never saw it again. One day, though, while going through family documents, Anthony came across the vehicle identification number for the car, setting himself the challenge of tracking it down. For some time, Anthony said, he had no luck - but in 2018, he was finally able to find his father's car down and purchase it.

Most men don't bounce around screaming. We stand quietly trying to force the tears back. And a car man myself, I can tell you nothing will ever top this moment for him.
The way he saw it over his shoulder and immediately looked forward with a blank face really highlights how hard that moment hit him.
Speak for yourself, my dad was absolutely giddy when my mom bought him a bandsaw for his guitar shop. If my dad had something like this gifted to him it would've been openly weeping and big hugs and effusive gratitude. Some men are okay with sharing their emotions...I know several.
I just cried enough for them
@@Erlrantandrage Hence the "Most Men"
@@Erlrantandrage it was just a general statement, because that's how men TYPICALLY are, he never said all men react that way
Most reactions people look for are jumping up and down and screaming.
But there was something about the quiet dignity that this man showed, especially knowing how much he sacrificed. Somehow that made it all the more powerful.
I think the very moment he saw that car every single happy beautiful memory came flooding back all at once, it would be too surreal to even comprehend. What an absolutely beautiful memory ♥️♥️
You are right it's something about his silence was so loud. I could feel it in my chest...love❤❤❤❤
He was trying not to cry on video like I did watching this
the silent was so loud
Agreed and the little joke about wanting the mower that was probably a way to cope and lighten the mood without a tear.
That’s a real man that puts his family first. It’s a beautiful thing what his family did.
It did knock the wind out of him!!
A man who made an amazing sacrifice for his family is rewarded properly! His kids getting together to buy the car back proves he raised them properly and with love! God Bless them all! ENJOY, sir!
Rest well to the husband who passed, to the wife, what a beautiful selfless act. I find it interesting that the Man who received the car back after selling it was alive and well to see this kind act come to fruition. Beautiful story
I’m soo happy the new owner looked after it just as good as he did glad you got it back solid
Taking his grand babies for a ride in the car he drove his own babies in....gosh that's got to be an amazing feeling
Dads make so many sacrifices they don't get credit for.
Thx for your gratitude to your dad. It made my day
That's how Parenthood works for both moms and dads
Don’t think that he’s not appreciative of the gift. Believe us Car enthusiast when we say that he’s overwhelmed with emotions. We just hardly show it. It even brought a tear to my eyes
Cars used to mean so much. Nowadays cars are these garbage built over complex gaudy machines built to make companies money. But cars used to be a craft, they used to last a lifetime, their styling was an art their sound their look their feel all of it. There used to be so much behind every vehicle, each one seeking to innovate and push the technological edge further. That car is a priceless artifact of better times, It is a priceless artifact of that man's life. A car like that can mean so much to a man. It's truly a great thing to reunite him with it. I hope to one day be able to afford myself a classic car. My father used to have one but in a similar manner it was sold to make ends meet. I've always loved classic vehicles and trying to find one is hard enough in itself but at an affordable price nearly impossible.
That smile with the kids in the car. There no price you could put on that memory, what a beautiful family.
These are the type of videos I want to see on UA-cam. What a beautiful story about sacrifice and love.
What a wonderful thing to do for their dad!
Being a car nut myself, when he first sees it, it's a shock to him, and quietly remembers the sacrifice of selling it, God bless you all
The way he looked away from it for a minute right after in shock says exactly how much that Edsel means to him. To some of us, classic cars are an old friend or a part of our family, they are part of our lives. You give so much to them and you treasure them, and the memories attached to them of different times, places, and people are so strong you can feel them when you sit in that drivers seat. That makes me so happy when someone is able to be reunited with a classic car that meant so much to them, there's cars that meant the world to me that would make me tremble if could see them again.
How kind of the woman that contacted his son and allowed him to have his memories back!
When alone, I guarantee he cried. As a car person myself the bond between your car and you is something indescribable, and especially something as special as this Edsel to him it's beyond an emotional experience
The best gift the head of a family can get is appreciation. And they clearly have appreciated this man graciously throughout their lives
I can't help but look into the future and see this man enjoying his car til the end of life then passing it on to his son who will pass it on to that very little boy who's running around the garage watching his grandfather's dreams come true🥰
Probably worth remembering that his late brother used to ride with him in this beauty. I am sure a lot of memories came flooding back. Sorry for the seller who lost her husband but hopefully she sees this video and realizes that she was a good custodian.
What a beautiful story!
That was awesome of his family to do that for him.
So much love and respect ❤
Kids, you hit a home run on that one! Your poop is 67+ now but you have made more memories that even the grand will cherish when you're old! ❤ The story.
This made me tear up! As a car guy myself I felt this in my heart. Absolutely amazing moment for the dad! I wouldn't be able to hold back tears....
The way he turned back around in shock after seeing the car spoke volumes.
What a wonderful thing to do stories like this really warm my heart I just love this I’m so happy he got his car back

Beautiful story
They man had to shake his head back and forth, he really thought he was dreaming!
Such a beautiful car
That tough old man sat in that car when the sun went down all alone and balled his eyes out
I feel like he was in shock the entire time because he never thought he’d see his car again
Old memories were with the car and their father. Now new memories made with the father and his grand kids, in the car. ❤❤
Thank You for Fixing the Link. Great, Heart~Warming Story. 👍👍👍👑

My heart is so full right now ❤️, couldn't have happened to a better man. To sacrifice for his family like that, i'm absolutely delighted he got his car back !
Wow whoever he sold it to kept it in great condition minus the holes in the headliner he mentioned immediately 😂😂❤ those won't be there long!
The way he talks about them sounds like they had been there since he had them
So they kept it in *PERFECT* condition
What a beautiful story it is!!
You could see the happiness and excitement in his face he almost came to tears
Sure can tell dad was not expecting that! Excellent job family.
To have people around you that love you this much would be a blessing in itself. I only wish to have a family as great as yours and hopefully I can be as strong and as committed as you one day.
He knew that car will come back one day
I'm not crying....someone's cutting onions!! 😢😊💯😍🤗🤗🤗💖💕
The world needs more stories like this to get out there - and more families like this to be the next stewards.

Incredible
Hell ya what a amazing story made me cry
Dudes the type of guy to tell you honestly and one to look and listen when talked too. Not in the bad way but also dont take it serious its that mentality people tend to forget. The man who talks withought having to say a word.

Beautiful, from the beggining to the end.
So happy for this man.
Real men acted like he did. It brought some tears of joy in my eyes and I don’t shed tears much. 👍 loved it!
I cant take this level of wholesomeness. Like i would understand if it was just the same model of a car. BUT THE SAME ONE???!! That is cute
Edit: and also painful to know that someone else has rode in it and probably left marks
It’s just a lot of rain im not crying
That “go get in it” to me it look like the dad just then realized he could indeed go in it
Ok, not gonna lie. This one drew real tears from me, 😢 but happy ones! 🥰
People here in the local car club think Im nuts but I LOVE Edsels.
That’s awesome..
