just a tip, the gearbox in this car is a dogbox meaning you dont have to use the clutch when upshifting, clutch is only used when downshifting. it makes for some much faster shifting and will take a noticeable amount of time off of your lap
all around amazing driving though! i was entertained the whole video start to finish
Not only that, but shifting 6-5-4-3 is slower than they used to as 6-4-3 or so.
Many did skipped gears too to stay up on torque
Really? Only knew it had theeth in the synchronizers to sync with the gear faster or better said immediately, which could overrev the engine to death when down shifting to early

@@nafsucof they’d blow up after a lap but it’s incredible that a 1.5L 70’s family car engine can handle that much power for that amount of time
But it would probably have no fuel left after the race unless they included fuel freezing to have more fuel and power.

Was never going to frighten the 919 the 919 had 1000 or so bhp also all wheel drive and produced far great aero the mp4/4 really didn’t have a lot of aero grip it had huge mechanical grip but the aero back then was not very good I have fond memories of watching senna and Prost driving these cars

This car is actually a Gran Turismo classic! It was present in Gran Turismo 3, although without the McLaren license and livery, so it was called the F688/S (the 88 comes from the year and the S means Senna).
I'll bet that Senna quote about going for the gap has caused more wrecks in sim racing than any other factor.
Senna ruined Monza T1 for all future generations.
True. Everyone forgets why he said it in the first place. It was to excuse himself for getting into so many accidents and collisions with other drivers.
@@michaelcords4339 Right. He made a lot of sketchy moves that pissed off a lot of his fellow drivers. It's OK to go for every gap when you are an F1 level driver with all of the talent, skills, and years of experience to make those moves stick, at least most of the time.

I got a wheel and pedals the other day. I was not prepared for video games to be physically demanding but it’s the most fun I’ve had in ages.
I have driven it in GT7, it’s a blast and definitely worth trying. Also if you hate GT7, go watch something else rather than complaining (I’m saying this because someone did it already in the comments section and I don’t want chaos to start because of one person). Also Ermin I love the content you are putting out mate, well done
Elitists hate on GT7 yet it’s probably the most complete racing/car game available.

Don't generally comment on YT but felt compelled to shout out the editing on this video. This is the first video of yours I've seen. Amazing camerawork, commentary and overall quality. Subscribed and looking forward to more of your content!
After about 10 attempts and a few suspension tuning sessions, Best I can manage is a 5:32.556. Amazing feat of engineering brilliance in the car. With Ayrton behind the wheel and some slight aero modifications I'm almost certain it's possible to achieve a sub 5:10. The car is beautifully balanced and the only thing holding it back is straight line speed. It feels so much quicker in the technical parts of the track but only suffers in the long sections to keep pace with the evo.
Agreed, the car seems to top out way too much, if you could somehow extract a few more KM/H from it maybe put it at 350ish with the aero it would easily be way faster

That lap was mad. Ermin makes this car look easy to drive. Can’t imagine what driving that thing would be like IRL at the green hell but GT7 seems to do a good job of showing what it’s like. As always a good video keep it up.

I'm obsessed with this car and driving it daily. My only issue is the weird camera bug in cockpit view that shifts to the side... only during left turns, if it was both ways i wouldnt mind so much but its so distracting.

Driving the 962C on the Nordschleife is tons of fun if you get the setup right - also 360 kmh on the Döttinger Höhe
In fact it wasn't a 962, Stefan Bellof set this record in a 956 😉

Ermin, if your going to do a simulation of the "greats", then you gotta go all in, the gear shifter on the MP4/4 was on the right hand side, that would be a better challenge simulating the real world, just as it would be if you forked out $8Mil for the ride of your life. Great video! As a Nordschleife fan I realized that in some turns you went as slow as GT3 Porsche, e.g. Meklesfeld. You may find up to 17 seconds if you spent some time of training. Anyway very well done in general ;)
Just think how hard your having to concentrate and how challenging it is to get that car round 1 lap of this track cleanly and quickly…so now imagine the level of skill and the balls on the f1 guys from the 50’s through to the mid 70’s, who used to do 14 lap races, in less sophisticated and even more dangerous equipment!!😵😵
Ermz is most effective at triggering simbros. Definitely agree that GT7 is easier and more fun to make content for. And it's actually a good game despite its issues.
Some people in the car world want to put an LS engine in everything and I hate it. Ermin is in the same mindset, but with putting every car on the Ring and I love it. Thus continues the legend of Ermz the Ring-meister.

In GT auto the MP4/4 has its real life higher downforce package available. Wing and side pod etc
Holy shit thank you I had no idea, the Rear Wing does add like 150 more rear downforce available but I'm not sure yet if the Sidepods do anything other than cosmetic. Would be cool if it adds some front downforce this could be an even more insane car.
@@presinald the game has a aero model so regardless of it not adding anything to the downforce tuning it will effect the flow of air around the car

In terms of lap times Michael Schumacher's Ferrari circa 2003-2004 (the one montoya used to set Monza lap record) is the fastest old f1 car. And this tends to reflect in most Sims - maybe you should give it a go ....

This is completely unrelated but I noticed that you're using a wheel with Xbox buttons on it, do they still work with the PS5 or would you need to use the controller navigate through the menus or change the settings while racing?
The buttons still work! It's confusing, but they work.
@@Ermz I see, Sony thought of players having multiple wheels from multiple companies, normally I thought they'd force the PlayStation button layout for their consoles
@@TimothyDong it's not a Sony thing it's a fanatec thing. The security chip for Sony wheels are in the wheel base while on xbox it's in the rim. This allows playstation users to use xbox rims and conversely allows playstation bases to work on xbox with a xbox rim.

Well these F1 cars are only slightly faster than current gen F2 so it's only natural they are losing against the best of LMP1

You've really taken a feel for Gran Turismo 7 huh? Is the driving more involved than GT Sport? It looks more realistic in the way the cars move around but I only have a PS4 and haven't dared to actually take the plunge yet. Plus I'd have to get the adapter to make my OSW setup work. Do you think it'd be worth it?
