I'm really considering getting this headunit, but I want to see how you feel about it now after 8 months. I'm between this unit & the atoto. Also is there a setting to turn off that beeping sound?
Love the radio but HDMI is only output. Also on hot days the device glitches out and stops working sometimes. Replugging it fixes that, but it's another con. And back up sound mute option doesn't work. I want my music to keep going every time i back up it cuts out. It's annoying and i wish there was a solution for this. If anybody know how... please help?
It’s the first word in the title. My only complaint with this unit is Siri can’t hear me half the time. The sound quality is still very impressive for the price.
The only reason to have this unit (besides wireless carplay)is exactly what u didn't need 😂 The RCA plugs for aftermarket amplifiers. Good review for those who r not interested to sound quality coming from an amplifier
The reflective screen is a bummer though. I'd love to hear how visible it is at different times of the day and in full son. People will shit on it being a Chinese radio but it has a whole lot more functionality than the stock head unit.
There's a difference between Chinese design and US/European design and Chinese assembly. My Pioneer head unit is about twice as deep as this, all metal construction and is more likely to be able output audio for longer without failing (it's already 7 years old and never missed a beat). My experience with a lot of Chinese stuff is they drive everything to the limit and it fails faster. Eg. LED light bulbs. If you can't get light bulbs right then how will you get something more complex right?
Interesting. I upgraded my 2002 Toyota with something similar and am very happy with it. Screen is matt so doesn't suffer the reflection issue but its still a touch TFT screen. Also it accepts a micro SD card which sits flush with the front panel where I put all the music I used to have on tapes as MP3s or even FLAC files. Got my unit off evil bay for under $100 US and feel it was one of my best purchases last year.
@@databits I'm not a fan of wire nuts but if you put them on right, there's no difference in the connection or longevity. And it's out of sight so you do you! :)
@@databits If you wish to make them temporary I would recommend crimping spade connectors. By my understanding wire nuts are not great for stranded wire.
Soldering leads to brittle wires that snap. Automotive applications always use crimps for a reason. Don't US cars have ISO connectors for stereos? All you have to do in Europe is buy an adaptor cable plus a unit that adapts the steering wheel controls.
1) the mount should place the screen flush with the dash, not recessed where you can barely touch the knob. Super lame. 2) Kia Soul oem speakers are horrible. Don’t fool yourself
I installed mine in a 99 silverado. I've got an amp and no speakers directly connected straight from the unit. There's no way I'd ever think of taking it out of that truck. I love this head unit.
Speakers distort at volume 30 but rca are clean 4v at full volume so that's a plus if youre running an amp for your speakers
If you still have the radio they make matte finish screen protectors for car head units.

It sounded surprisingly good for using the camera mic. Is it wireless Apple Car Play or do you have to be connected to USB?
It’s wireless!

Replugging? Does that mean I should install a shut-off switch somewhere?
Question, does the back cable for the rear camera needs ground or positive from the gearbox?
Have you had a problem with the volume, turning itself up when you adjust it while an apple CarPlay? Cause I keep having that.
What company makes this radio

Does anyone know how to adjust radio to navigation announcement ratio and how to set radio mute during navigation announcements?
Can the screen be dimmed to zero brightness (essentially dark mode)?
Do you know how to manually shut off the radio? it keeps draining my battery but just holding the volume wheel only puts it to sleep.
Can you power the radio on while the car is off?
Sounds like you have it wired wrong. It should be wired so that it only gets power when the key is in accessory, or engine running.
Can we play songs from mobile through Bluetooth?
Yes

All radios these days are Chinese.

@@6581punk You do realize China is a country of over a billion people, right? And that there's more than one design firm?

is it Sirius ready?
No, clearly not.
If you subscribe to it get the app. I like it just the same on this unit then when my truck had sirius ready head unit in it.
How is the stereo im on the verge of buying one
I’m lovin it! Got a different car and moved it into it.

That's a lot of distracted drivin' there.
Yes Volume Knob yes yes yes
Omg no... Wire nuts?
Either solder and shrink wrap or use butt connectors with a proper crimper.
Nope
