Why I never use the "BEST" ammo in Tarkov..

- When 90% of the Tarkov community call half the ammo in the game useless, I challenge that! In this video I'll show you as I progress through some tough raids with some fairly run-of-the-mill ammo. Today I want to prove to you that as much as ammo is really important, you don't necessarily need the best of the best to compete with the chads of Tarkov. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a one trick solution to all your problems in Tarkov. Half the battle is just knowing whether to focus thorax, head or even legs, and it really depends on how geared your target is, and if you even get the opportunity to think about that stuff in the first place.
I'm usually put off from using the M4 early game as I thought the ammo was pretty bad, I think this is a common misconception around M4 ammo. Most people M855A1 or 995 as the bare minimum run, but in this video I discovered that there are other options to use if you're lacking funds to run what you want to use. M856A1 is fairly overlooked, most people write it off as bad ammo, but I've managed to take people down with class 6 armour fairly easily. This re-enforced my point that there are plenty of great choices for ammo which are lurking in a cheaper price bracket, something like 7.62 PS, it only has 32 pen, but its just enough to give you that opportunity to take someone down with class 6 armour and it only costs 90 roubles per bullet, that's crazy.

In this video I put lesser used ammo to the test to prove that there are cheaper options to run this wipe if you're struggling to afford the "BEST" or other so called meta choices.
I'd also like to mention that although I didn't talk about it in the video there are so many leg 'meta' ammos that are under utilized and I'd love to hear your thoughts on some secret ammo that nobody talks about!!
I hope this has inspired you to try something different and not fork up loads of money to just to keep up with other peoples expectations of "good gear". Game/map knowledge trumps ammo IMO, we all know buying the "best" doesn't always secure you complete domination in a raid. Don't be cliché, challenge the meta.
7.62x25 fmj ppsh leg meta is king, the fire rate and flesh damage melts in 2 seconds
5.45 US ammo 👀 slightly underrated with the flesh damage and the -15% Recoil it gives you
PstM out of a Klin is a solid choice against armor on the cheap. It's basically just running m855 out of a 100rpm hose.
same reason why i run sp6 over spp when i run val, spp has a +20 recoil modifier while sp6 has a +10 which makes it a lot more easy to control

im on my 2nd week of tarkov and there really was a moment where I used a pp91 kedr to kill a lvl45 with lvl5 plates and a face mask was moments before me asking my friend what bandages are for.
Those first hours in tarkov are a rollercoaster

I'm really bad at spotting players, I can find angles but my target acquisition is PAINFULLY bad

@@JustAJauneArc hey man idk if your ac had now or even uninstalled but I found upping my monitors gamma and using optics with magnification to be a godsend. the tac30 used in this video is my favorite for sure

dude, I never comment on videos, but your quality is top notch. The mixture of “stream highlight” gameplay, with narrative-based moments in-raid (explaining your thought process in a certain moment, while ducking the game audio) is brilliant.
I really really love the approach of taking each raid as a story, requiring multiple types of editing techniques (narrative, montage, stream highlights) to tell. Keep it up man, very great work.

Useful tip for the Grizzly medical item: if you are using it just to heal hp, you should click left mousebutton a few times after the treatment exp in the bottom right shows up. This cancels the rest of the 5 second animation (which doesn't provide more healing). The only time you want to go through the 5 second animation is when you are fixing bleeds/fractures with it.
better to right click so you don't accidentally shoot while canceling
Since it is tehnically a long 5 second regen,canceling it does indeed speed up things,and im happy to see others share this knowledge
If you do it too early it could heal less then the desirable amount especially on high hp body parts such as thorax and stomach.

Post fx in game. Mine looks this way when I play.
Max out your saturation for starters. I use landmarks settings then minor tweeked them.
Aye I use a colour grading filter, Montreal. Got a video on my channel about the post fx if you want tit to look the same. That does most of the work in terms of making the game the way it is in the videos. I only do a tiny tiny amount of colour grading in premiere to bring out the colours more since the OBS recording is a little flat.

Are you really play tarkov in 4k? how much fps do you got there?
If its 4k he probably most likely gets 60fps average maybe . I'm not shure what specs he has or settings. It could be 1440p. 1440p you can get good fps and you can also upscale the resolution further in the settings.
I play in 1440p and upscale to 4k in post for a higher bitrate/quality on youtube. my fps is pretty decent though overall, usually somewhere between 85-120

Great video! Hey a tip for when you are trying to make more precise shots while scoped in is to leave it in semi auto so you get that consistent reset of the recoil. I noticed it fires in burst some times in full auto and is making you miss easy shots by accident. Hope this helps!

That would be easy, problem is not ammo there, it's not being head eyes'd across the whole city by aimbot algorithm. Or by Tagilla speedhack. Since for some fucking reason, once he locks on you with his hammer out, he can hit you from the range of a claymore and is somehow faster than you, even while being lit up by an M249 LMG.

Props to you for using the Burris on your rifles, been my favorite multi-zoom scope ever since the Valday was sitting around 60k, and now that they nerfed it'd eye relief this patch, and the Elcan's aiming dot is way too big, the Burris' perfect sight picture and reticle make it easily my favorite for both sniping and close range engagements.

If you've played this game for more than one patch you'd be able to read that simple sentence, and remember how just one wipe ago the Valday was around that price and didn't have the awful eye relief it does now. Awesome video man! I just started playing Tarkov a few weeks ago. I’ve played thousands of hours of DayZ, and thankfully those skills translated over nicely after the learning curve flattened out a bit. Keep up the solid content

Know the map well enough that anything out of the ordinary necessarily means player, im not that good either but these guys know the map like I know the back of my hand

Know the map, PMC spawns, scav spawns, map flow, etc. it just comes with experience, trust me i was in your shoes for a whole wipe and now i slay.

Hey! Great video! I’m a fairly new Tarkov player, owned the game for awhile but this is my first time actually playing a bit during the wipe. As you can guess, I keep getting smacked around, but every now and then I land a few good raids. I watch your guides most over others since it just feels pretty short and to the point. Plus, I’m not Pestily or Shroud, their tips kinda don’t stick on me.

Be aware of youtube vids they are highlights haha. Just know everyone dies pretty often. Few people hold over a 75% survival rate past a 200 raids. I'm at like 52% after 250 raids and I'd consider myself an 7 out of 10 in tarkov scale

Great video mate just a little tip if you're only healing with the grizzly, not stopping a bleed, you can cancel the animation after the first half of the animation and you'll have healed
Another tip is to only pack the top of your mags with goood ammo, Say 10 m995 the rest 56a1 or 55

Yeah people often forget to play to their strengths. Always baffled me when people shunned PRS saying you should at least get PS or PP - like bruh it has fairly decent flesh dmg, surely you are capable of aiming under the belt instead of the chest (because if you landed heads we wouldn't have this conversation now, would we?). Or people insisting on using AP slugs for shotguns quests - embrace the Magnum/Express for maximum pain. It's easier to just spam someone with buckshot and turning them into a mince than landing chest shot with AP and not hitting arms ..
I figure you know this but if you use the pg up and down buttons it changes the zeroing range on your gun making you hit more accurately at different ranges

At this early - mid stage I’m totally with you. The majority of ppl are running lvl 4 body armor and you can fight with BT , 6A1, PS, M80 but later when it gets to lvl 5 body armor it’s definitely over for these rounds.
Yesterday it took me 25 hits to kill 3 ppl on shoreline with an OP-SKS with PS rounds on lvl 4-5 armors. With BP it would be the half. But it’s quite to expensive for me atm 🤷♂️

Ammos too expensive, so I just run mid tier shit like 5.45 PP and 5.56 M855 and aim for the head

@@SenkaBandit don’t build up the hideout before reaching 10.mio and you won’t struggle with money. All my buddy’s build this shit up and use it only slightly and waste all theier money on it 🙄
@Mother Russia it’s not only for the sks, every gun is in semi fire a money saver. I play a lot akmn and only go full auto in close range. it’s amazing how long you can stay into a fight if you make every shot count. With an 416 the ammo just fly out and you find your self in a long repacking mode.
I'm a total noob with Tarkov and essentially pick up everything I can not knowing what I should be doing. Stumbling across your vids has given me a bit more insight even though I'm still just as confused! Thanks all the same, have a sub!

@@2Lew That would be awesome! I've tried to find how to's but most of them are so rushed and assume you know everything like maps and spawns etc so it doesn't give many people who are brand new the insight into what goes into everything. Could be a time consuming but rewarding series!

Missed a 'Look what they did to my poor boy' moment.
I did a whole wipe with 7.62 PS and a fairly budget AKM just to see if it was possible. Honestly... It wasn't much of an issue. The only time I switched was for quests that required a specific weapon.
