One KEY importance that new players need to know, is where npcs spawn on the map. This is probably the most vital element that new players will otherwise struggle with - especially because time-to-kill is so minimal and even if you survive an npc encounter, you may very likely bleed out. Dying in a random area by some npc that saw you through some foliage or whatever, is very common. You won't even know they're there until you've taken a bullet to your body, and by that time new players are done for. Randomly walking into npc areas is a major hazard - also because these are the areas that often attract skilled players as well due to the nearby loot etc. So TLDR; Try to learn all the npc zones on a map, so you know ahead of time what you're getting yourself into, and know to be on the lookout. It will also help you realize which parts of maps you can run through, and which parts require more caution, so you don't end up crouch walking through everything and waste time needlessly.

This was a vastly superior introduction to the game than is provided in game. Thank you for that. It would be much better if the devs actually had this kinda stuff in game and also if they added a map system. The prevalence of third party maps leaves players that don't seem them out at a massive disadvantage. If they could do a mobile app for maps that would also be cool.
I’m suprised you haven’t gotten 25 reply’s all screaming “that’s not the kind of game the devs want to make” Just because they want the game to feel like a kick in the nuts doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have a tutorial manual showcasing a lot of what’s shown in the video. Ya know, the basics.

Thanks for the guide, its definitely helpful. As a brand new player though, I just can't seem to compete at all with players that have even average equipment. I mean the other day I got 18 hits in a row on a guy and didn't even seem to scratch him and then he proceeded to kill me in just 2 or 3 shots right after with a similar weapon. I guess it's about the ammo, and I tried looking at ammo charts to get myself some more effective rounds but then it seems like none of the traders offer any of those rounds, and in fact they only seemingly offer the very worst rounds. I mean sure, once or twice I have gotten lucky and killed a player that had some good gear(at least I think it's good gear), but largely it just seems like the same thing where I dump a full clip at them and my shots either go in random directions around them or hit them but do less than an airsoft pellet, and then they quickly mow me down in the blink of an eye. Yeah, I'm sure some of it is that they know more about the game than I do, but I think the other part is that they have access to the flea market and thus better/cheaper gear. And I can't access that until level 15, which seems like such a far way off when half the games I play I end up getting killed before I can even gather very much XP. Seems like a fun game with a good concept, but from a beginners perspective it's very unfriendly and punishing.
The game is all about being at the right place at the right time. Learn about where people spawn and go in the map and you will start extracting far more often.
I honestly think going through the small things like the keybindings(I know you can see them in settings) that someone might not think to look for, especially when there’s SO many other elements going on as a new player, is definitely helpful. As a new player I’ve watched so many “new player guides” that aren’t for new players at all. Great guide sir, earned a sub!
what i recommend new players do is buy bank robbers and sks or mosins at first. learn stash runs on customs (or any map that has stashes) and try to avoid as much combat as possible. i know it sounds like a rat way to do it but you will find stuff for your hideout, acquire more money, and find quest related items. use it as a way to learn maps and extracts while also getting loot. once you feel comfortable with the map and have some money, then buys guns you want to use and chad around. i hope this helps out you guys :)

I've been thinking of getting into this game but found all the information online quite daunting. Thank you for this video! It's actually got me pretty hyped to get into all of this!
A continuation of the stock folding. If your AK is not folding its stock it means there is a mod on it that is preventing you from folding it. Usually it’s a dovetail mount(think SVD lowside or B13) or in the case of the AKS74U a few of the hand guards causes you to not be able to fold the stock. To fold it simply take either the dovetail mount off and then fold and put it back on. In the case of the AKS74U this can not be done in raid. Also I highly suggest if you aren’t already, ingrain yourself in guns and gun culture. If I didn’t already know a lot about firearms and firearm mods I don’t think I would have kept playing, it would have been the straw that broke my “not knowing wtf I’m doing this isn’t fun” back. Btw 10/10 video, all of it was GREAT information for new players. A lot of the other guides get a bit to complicated to fast. I wish this video was out when I was new.
I don't know why but I have kappa and I still enjoy watching beginner guides even though I'm far from needing them. When my friends get this game I will be linking them this video.
Very useful. I just came to the conclusion that games are getting so complicated and overwhelming that it is now difficult for me to ''just have fun'' when you have so much stuff to focus on and manage.
You definitely helped me way more than any of the others I've watched! The other ones talk way to fast and just ramble making it very confusing. Thank you good sir
Very great guide. The one thing that could be more explained is the importance of the right ammo type. Ammo kills - not the weapon. That is a realy big Trap in Tarkov. With that shown PRS Ammo you only will fail.
Very good point. I've been playing a ton this wipe and wish this is something one of my teammates would figure out. I'd take a busted AK with BT in it over a decked out M4 with M855. Its why i always prefer AK series because of the abundance of ammo for it it early wipe.
Man.... you don't even know how much this has helped me. I've always had friends on this but i never jumped on the train simply due how intimidating this entry-level knowledge is. It was a lot to grasp so i never truly gave EFT the chance it deserves. This video changed everything lol. Kudos to you homie
First video of yours ive watched (AFAIK). Your non rambling smooth, less abrasive and loud style reminds me of Rocket Jump Ninja and his mouse reviews and such. Much appreciated and enjoyed. Can sit relax and listen without needing to adjust my volume for one reason or another.
important thing to note is that just because the ammo goes into the mag does NOT mean it works with the gun make sure you are using the right ammo by checking the caliber of the weapon and ammo there is also a "chamber" slot in every weapon where you can drag ammo to see if it works with the gun
Just bought this game, and my first game was at nighttime, inside a house... so dark inside, and so dark outside. I was so scared I had to leave just after 15 minutes, didnt know if I was alone on the map or not, sometimes I heard noise but then I thought it might have been my own movement that made the sound. Didnt find a flashlight, so playing nighttime was a total beginner misstake.. This video gave me some good information. This game actually seems like a really fun game when you learn all this stuff, but as a beginner it is very overwhelming! :D
I have about 250 hours. And im still pretty mediocre. Honestly this game isnt really for me. I get too nervous and stuff. I dont wanna feel like that when i play a game. But it was still really fun! I had a blast with it!
Remember it's not about the guns but the ammo, get to know the ammos as quickly as possible, maybe write them down because ammo is what does the damage not the gun
took me about 300hrs to start having proper fun, those 300hrs were spent being as careful as humanly possible through multiple maps I also made the mistake of thinking 'Factory' was the "Noob Friendly" map where I could go to fight people on my level. Oh how wrong I was. now at about 2k hours I'm a terrifying demon on Woods and Shoreline >:)
I recommend using Sound Lock to play this game and set it to about 10% or so and set it to Filter Mode: Filter Master, unrealistic? Well sure, don't use it then, if you care about your health trust me, use Sound Lock. It just stops the gunshots going to about 20000% volume, loud = funny LULW loud = scary FeelsGoodMan, stop it, get some help. Your ears sometimes ringing when you're in bed? Or randomly hearing eerie noises or buzzing sounds that no one else can hear? Tough luck friend, Nikita has damaged your ears with his game and it is too late. Shoulda used sound lock.
@@WoWmaniac100 you don't have to have it on 10% I actually use it on 30% now, seems to be the right amount to hear all audio normally and just dim down the really loud guns. When I had 10% I noticed like a lot of common noises were sound locking too early so I decided to up it. But yeah, you click the icon of soundlock bottom right and click it, there's a slider for where it will stop sounds exceeding the selected amount (this actually locks the really loud windows notification noise "BING!" that sometimes occurs as well) and the 2 cogs are the settings, you can have filter master or filter per channel. Filter master will lock the entire audio at the selected volume and stop it exceeding that. Filter per channel will lock each ear individually, E.G a loud noise coming from your left will get locked where as the sound on your right side will not be locked unless there is a loud sound on your right side too.* *Per channel can sometimes sound a bit weird as you turn in games and loud noises sort of come from random sides so that's why I use filter master.
Worth it. Did the same thing for this exact game lol. Its hard and punishing put the rewarding feeling of ganking someone's stuff overcomes all the failures you endure in the beginning
This is crazy, love games with good details like mags falling to the ground or holding on to it, folding stocks ect. Might have to get clapped a few times trying to put this into practice.

This was a well thought out video! wish i woulda watched this when i first started the game! Thanks. Goodluck and keep on raiding!
Best guide on UA-cam. Congrats!!
What an great guide i will recomend this to my firends that just startet playing Tarkov.
Best simple guide, showed it to a friend who's curious about the game, hopefulk this won't scare him off.
I haven't started playing this game but I wanna get it and this guide really did a lot to help figure stuff out.
Man.... you don't even know how much this has helped me. I've always had friends on this but i never jumped on the train simply due how intimidating this entry-level knowledge is. It was a lot to grasp so i never truly gave EFT the chance it deserves. This video changed everything lol. Kudos to you homie
Just started this week, and just now learned you need to scroll on enemy corpses...
Thanks for the guide. Shoulda started here.
"by getting dead"
As someone who has never played but is looking into it, this was a good, clean intro. Ty
New to the game, this was a good place to start. Thanks for the info!
Yes the straight forward grunt speak is appreciated when narrating a guide.
This was exactly what I needed to give this a try, thank you!
First video of yours ive watched (AFAIK). Your non rambling smooth, less abrasive and loud style reminds me of Rocket Jump Ninja and his mouse reviews and such. Much appreciated and enjoyed. Can sit relax and listen without needing to adjust my volume for one reason or another.
important thing to note is that just because the ammo goes into the mag does NOT mean it works with the gun
make sure you are using the right ammo by checking the caliber of the weapon and ammo
there is also a "chamber" slot in every weapon where you can drag ammo to see if it works with the gun
Cheers man i just bought this game and looking forward to scaving
enormous help, didn't knew how the extrations worked, now i do, thanks mate!
"I feel like I just explained humans" I couldn't help but do a sensible chuckle! HAHA! XD
This actually helped answer A LOT of my questions as a new player! Thank you!
COD MW: Years of creating a game of a successful FPS franchise
EFT: Hey Ivan, Let’s make a game like CS:GO but put more realism!
And by realism we understand making new players and casuals feel like in the middle east against the USA.
@@pycanthusderossi4665 That sure is quite an interesting analogy my friend!
CS:GO anytime :D
Simple, informative, straight to the point.
I have about 250 hours. And im still pretty mediocre. Honestly this game isnt really for me. I get too nervous and stuff. I dont wanna feel like that when i play a game. But it was still really fun! I had a blast with it!
Dude everytime i get into a firefight at the night time my heart rate goes through the roof sometimes.
This is awesome! Thank you!!!
''Getting dead'' sentence of the year
Thank you so much for this guide, I've been trying to find a video that doesn't explain everything to the most minute detail that I won't remember
Remember it's not about the guns but the ammo, get to know the ammos as quickly as possible, maybe write them down because ammo is what does the damage not the gun
This guide makes the game seem really fun but from what I’ve seen it’s a deeply frustrating experience. The offline aspect seems interesting though.
took me about 300hrs to start having proper fun, those 300hrs were spent being as careful as humanly possible through multiple maps
I also made the mistake of thinking 'Factory' was the "Noob Friendly" map where I could go to fight people on my level. Oh how wrong I was.
now at about 2k hours I'm a terrifying demon on Woods and Shoreline >:)
i was thinking about getting the game if i had enough, but this is the non-confusing guide, im good peace
Really great beginners guide! ...who says "tar-KOV" though?
thats the only thing ive heard it called
He put the emPHAsis on the wrong sylLAble
Tar-Cow
This guide helped me so much thank you❤️
Me with a low end laptop and cant play:
Interesting
I have a i5 gaming laptop. And it works even on my laptop.
I am lvl 70 and I watched this and enjoyed
Shoulda used sound lock.
adjust to 10%?? how to do that, i just have the filters and channels filtered options
nvm i got it, just left click!
Filter per channel will lock each ear individually, E.G a loud noise coming from your left will get locked where as the sound on your right side will not be locked unless there is a loud sound on your right side too.*
*Per channel can sometimes sound a bit weird as you turn in games and loud noises sort of come from random sides so that's why I use filter master.
Just bought the game, I already know map layouts from my chad friend but these keybinds will help me out a bunch, thank you :)
I’m buying a PC to play this game.
What a wonderful decision!
Worth it. Did the same thing for this exact game lol. Its hard and punishing put the rewarding feeling of ganking someone's stuff overcomes all the failures you endure in the beginning
Kinda thinking of doing the same thing. Any advice for a guy who knows nothing about building a PC?
@@HighDiver5555 Go to buildapc on reddit. You'll get the right answers there.
Just started playing EFT and this was pretty helpful and straight to the point.
This game trains you not to go riot, kinda like in Hunt: Showdown. You die, you will lose everything. :P
This is crazy, love games with good details like mags falling to the ground or holding on to it, folding stocks ect. Might have to get clapped a few times trying to put this into practice.
