- I decided to dedicate this milestone with a special project that I’ve been working on for a few months now. I released this much later than I had originally planned to do, because I filmed this back in October. I apologize for my incoherent speaking, at the time I had an illness that somewhat stifled my voice, and messed with my sleep. Also, I spent too much time introducing the devices. 😂
With that in mind, this is a very intriguing project that I worked on, with some rather unexpected results! One of those unexpected results was the fact that the video was over 45 minutes long.
I can’t guarantee that my decibel reader was accurate, because it was just an app on an older iPhone I had, (the XR, for anyone who cares.) Also, this was done in my garage, which is bare plywood wall, and a concrete floor, so some alarms may sound louder than they actually would be in a regular building.
I was inspired to do this by the user FireAlarm5967. He originally did this by finding out which alarm was the loudest.
Thank you all for your subscriptions, as well as your loyalty! Enjoy!
The thing about modern alarms is they actually aren't trying to be very loud because older horns and bells are very loud which can hurt peoples hearing, so a solution to that is making alarms not entirely loud.
You have the talent of showing viewers what amazing content that provides entertainment for alarm enthusiasts
Thanks! That means a lot to me!
I do prefer the modern horn strobes. But my favorite generation of fire alarms is from the 1990s to early 2000s
I’m with you man, specially the later 90’s to the mid-late 00’s.
Edwards changed there logo from the rectangular lantern logo to the shield logo in 1964 so the Edward’s bell is from ether 1970 to 1989 and the Edward’s circular horns are the old lantern logo pre 1964
Thanks for the info!
@@tots16 Why does the Potter bell have some similar name kinda similar to… uh… Harry’s surname…?
@@tots16 And also, my previous school’s fire alarms were the ZeRio box sounders, the smoke alarms/detectors and the heat-alarms/detectors. I think… there were also the strobe ones.
I think the box shaped sounders were *v e r y* loud I think, in my opinion. I think…

Gahh your collection is so cool! I love how you collect all kinds of neat old ones and not just some modern electronic stuff.
I like the old alarms better since most use higher quality materials (metal)
You should use the one that got painted as hazmat emergencies or severe weather just a thought
12:34 That is true. There is a water park near me that was built in 2011. They use one of these to warn when the wave pool is about to start.
What is the name of that Horne

Awesome sounding! Some of these alarms you showed are still being made today:
Simplex 4903-9425/9426/9427 series
Gentex Commander 3
Wheelock Exceeder
I have a rare faraday resonating horn I find it not as loud as my spectralert advance alone but with all of my alarms connected it carries the farthest
Wow nice collection! Never knew you had a Natsco 411!
Yeah, I bought that one several years ago now!
L-series was introduced in 2017 iirc
(I was there when it was introduced)
Did Elyse & Ben give you the Federal model 53 from the late 60's ?
No, they didn’t, and I don’t know who they are.
Greate ! Thanks.
What are you using to measure sound levels? Whatever youre using is reading about 30db too high... You'd go permanently deaf if those were true readings lol
You’re missing the National Time 411 flush mount. This collection is badass tho my dude. Love it
Thank you! I’ve been keeping my eye out for one of those!
I have question about a model called HWL-LF the white one , is it only an audio device ? It doesn't sensitive to carbon by it self right ?
10:09 Damn you got a 411? I live in Michigan and I can’t seem to get one. Where did you so happen to get this?
I got this one on eBay a number of years ago.
It is 2006. 6:49
😅😅😅 what the hell was when I was alone
34:28: Why does the System Sensor L-Series white fire alarm speaker-strobe thingy sound like a bell that belongs to a passing locomotive or a train?
That’s because it’s a chime strobe.
@@tots16 Okay. But why does the fire alarm at 9:04 - 9:10 with AC/DC sound like it loves rock and roll? 💀💀💀💀
@@The-creator-of-good-videos-15It was a cheap joke about an old band that was called AC/DC.
@@tots16 So it actually runs on some AC-DC power and it doesn’t actually mean that it likes rock-and-roll bands like AC/DC?
@@The-creator-of-good-videos-15 What part of, it was a joke, do you not understand?
42:51 that's all at my former school
Tengo una donde la puedo vender
