My father lied about his age in order to fight in WWII, where he landed onOmaha beach in Normandy on D Day, eventually marching across Europe. My uncle Dale was in the Navy stationed at Pearl Harbor and my uncle Marty was, by the 1980's retired Navy, eventually becoming the highest paid, highest ranking civilian strategic consultant in the Navy AFTER he retired. When I married my childhood sweetheart, he was in the Marine Corp. He died of cancer in 2010. My current husband is a veteran of the Air Force, and my 3rd son (out of 5) is an Army vet. There has not been a single generation of any of my family and extended family that has not had at least one son or daughter or husband or wife in a division of the US Armed Forces in 200 years or more. Every time I hear one of these songs, or see the flag carried by an honor guard, or sing the Star Spangled Banner, I weep. Every. Single. Time. I made it a point, as a young child, to memorize every verse of our National Anthem, even though you only ever hear the first verse. My favorite verse is the last one: Oh thus be it ever, When free men shall stand Between their loved homes and the wars desolation. Blessed with victory and peace May these Heaven rescued lands Praise the Power that hath made, and preserved us a Nation. And conquer we must When our cause it is Just, And this be our motto:in God is our trust! And the Star Spangled Banner in Triumph shall wave o'er the Land of the Free And the home of the Brave!
I've never forgotten. Never will. I was 16 and can remember it like yesterday. Its amazing to see people from other countries listen to songs about that day and get emotional and tell what they remember about that day. Wl
Great review and so timely. The US President has forgotten: we don't leave Americans behind, we don't negotiate with terrorists and we don't walk away from a fight. I've never been so ashamed of this country's leadership as I am now. I'm forever grateful that the UK stood at our side and served with us. I'm only sorry we are such a disgrace now. #nomoretalkin
Watched it happen on tv. I was very proud of the wonderful New Yorkers who rallied around the victims of the terrorists! They gave water, food, comfort, and love to those people. As horrible as it was, the unification of New York was beautiful and powerful. NEVER FORGET!
I agree with your opinion on how poorly the president, the House of Representatives & the Senate are handling the withdraw of the troops & the civilians out of Afghanistan. Thank you for sharing your honest opinions & Thank you for your service. Too many people today want to forget the horrible events that have happened in past, but it should not & will not ever be forgotten in my lifetime.
I remember as a child watching the evacuation of Saigon, never knowing that I would relive those feelings again watching us leave Afghanistan. Thank you for your thoughts, I have family in the military, believe me they 100% want to march in and get our people out, unfortunately you are correct the leadership will not issue the orders. Where is our Commander and Chief?
I cry to that song almost every time. I didn't lose a loved one. But I remember the heartbreak on that day. My sons were 5 months old and 13 months old.
In America we've got our hands full dealing with these tyrants! Dont doubt for one minute they wont be dealt with! America will always be the world's beacon of hope and freedom! God bless you brother and your always welcome to join the fight!
May God bless you my friend. You have a better understanding than most Americans today. Thank you for your service, be proud of it. Sadly, being in my sixties, I work with people who were born after 9/11 and don’t know about it due to our leftist schools. And I agree, Biden and our military leaders need to answer for the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. Heads need to roll.
Thank you for this! Thank you for your unashamed support of the military and love of country! As an American, I couldn’t agree more. I hate the decision our leadership has made and can only helplessly watch with the rest of the world as people suffer in the name of politics. It’s heartbreaking 💔..
I remember sitting in algebra class when my buddy Thomas came running down the hall screaming "they bombed New York!!!!" My teacher thought he was joking, she didn't even turn the tv on. I had family in the area at the time and several family and friends in the military. I didn't find out until after school let out that the ones I knew up there were safe. Lots of tears that day, both sad and relieved, and pissed off. I'll never forget.
With all that’s happening in the world, no I have not forgotten - the lives we’ve lost in the last 20 years, and the veterans who returned to us broken. I have not forgotten…I may not agree with it, but I honor those who have served and are still serving to this day. Some gave all, all gave some.
Love your channel. I hope the world knows that we, the American people are as horrified, shocked, and ashamed of our evil leadership as anybody. If heads don’t roll, we, and the world will never recover! Private charities went in and rescued some of those who our government should have. 😡😭😡😭😡😭😡😭
You bring me to years when you let me see that pain is universal and knows no borders. I still remember exactly where I was, how it felt, my son going to Iraq in the Gulf War and three deployments after to Kuwait and Afghanistan. His two brothers joined military as Marine and Army actives. No! We have NOT forgotten! But some in our government are guilty as charged!
I have forgotten many things in my 54 years, but, there a few things I will ALWAYS remember as an example: I will never forget the Challenger explosion and I will never forget what I was doing, where I was, and, how I felt that sad and tragic day in early September.
Thank you for reacting to this song. We as Americans still feel the pain of the events that happened that day and are reminded every day that a gold star family is added to the ranks. I fear the repercussions that will follow this act of disgraceful embarrassment. We as a nation can not help but fear what is awaiting us now. Thank you for your thoughts and concern for the American troops and our families here at home.
My heart still aches thinking of those souls that we lost in the attacks of September 11th and all those around the world who came to our side go after those who attacked us!
as an american, there's too much people have not only forgotten but outright ignore. maybe one day we will get our shxt together and recover before things get worse, but this situation is both on us as well as our leadership. stay safe out there, and keep on doing what you do.
I was still in school back then. And even now I can’t forget watching both towers crumble right before my eyes. Thirty high schoolers in one room and there was complete silence for a solid half hour. I agree Don, it is shameful to forget.
My ancestry is Scottish, Irish and Welsh but I am a proud American. My family has served in the Military for 150 years . I can never forget watching the towers fall. I will never forget seeing the Pentagon or knowing the people who fought back on the hero flight. The hero flight crashed in Pennsylvania.
I subscribe to the motto, "NEVER FORGET, NEVER FORGIVE". My only uncle sign up for the Navy the day after Pearl Harbor but was too sea sick for Navy duty and was medically discharged and signed up for the Army and was a 17 year old corporal when he landed on Omaha Beach on D Day, where he got his first purple heart of the war. He survived and went on to work as an electronics engineer for NASA and helped save Apollo 13.
Well done I appreciate the fact you are still touched by those images it makes me feel there are great people out there around the world and we are not alone. Cheers mate.
First off, thank you, sir, for your service. Everyone stepped up to help my country and I deeply appreciate it. You are right, 9/11 shook the world. This current administration won't take accountability for their actions. They blame the previous administration. #NeverForget
I was asleep after a night shift at the factory I worked at. My roommate slammed my door open and told me to wake the hell up because we were under attack. That whole next week, the factory closed and gave every employee a week paid vacation to spend with our loved ones. As for how I felt, my emotions were a mix. Anger, sadness, shock, worry
My family and I still know where we were that day. I agree with your sentiments on what is happening now . I understand your frustration because I feel the same.
I can never get through this song without crying. That was such a traumatizing day- and now it is traumatizing that people seem to have forgotten or just don’t care. I will never forget. I was 12 years old when 9/11 happened. It is beyond words for me to this day and I can still clearly see the tv footage in my minds eye. Because of where i lived at the time, I saw the destruction and devastation up close. We drove past the Pentagon every day and watched it rise from the smoking ruins, while the flag lay draped over the roof of the undamaged part of the building. The smoke rose for several days and even after that, being a coastie brat living on an active military base, we had security check points to go through, mirrors and dogs included, before we could get home. I can't forget. I won't forget. And still the song makes me cry every time I hear it. Your nephew and all of our brave troops are in my prayers.
May God Bless and help the USA….
@@cliffordbarnes1631 thank you. I fear for my nephew but he wants to be there. He has done 3 tours now in Afghanistan and 1 in Iraq. He was actually at the DMZ in South Korea last weekend when he got the call to move out to Afghanistan to help secure the airport for the troops to leave. He wants to be there. He is troubled that we may not get everyone out in time.
@@jilliant.4550 Jillian as I sit here watching the news I am fervently praying that your nephew is safe.

@@jilliant.4550 Jillian thank God for that!
I am still praying both for your nephew and all of our brave troops still over there.
There is a special place in heaven for those who sacrifice their lives and put themselves in harms way to try and help innocents in situations such as this.
I also pray that God will help your nephew through the pain and mourning of losing a brother in arms.
Please tell his wife and his mother that I am with him, her, and all of you in prayer.
God Bless our Service People and May God Bless and save the United States of America!
I have not forgotten I will never forget.
My favorite verse is the last one:
Oh thus be it ever,
When free men shall stand
Between their loved homes and the wars desolation.
Blessed with victory and peace
May these Heaven rescued lands
Praise the Power that hath made, and preserved us a Nation.
And conquer we must
When our cause it is Just,
And this be our motto:in God is our trust!
And the Star Spangled Banner in Triumph shall wave
o'er the Land of the Free
And the home of the Brave!
God bless you and your family. I come back to this to help me not forget. Bulloch County Georgia USA
We're mad as hell in USA. WE WANT BIDEN ,HARRIS,AND PELOSI GONE.
I've never forgotten. Never will. I was 16 and can remember it like yesterday. Its amazing to see people from other countries listen to songs about that day and get emotional and tell what they remember about that day. Wl
So upsetting to witness this horrible withdrawal. Thank you to so many who serve and lost loved ones.
I will never forget that day as long as I live. "I Just Came Back From A War" is another great song by Darryl Worley.
I think he reviewed it already. ;-)
@@lauraduffy1369 you're right. I just went back & watched it again.thanks 😊

He is not our commander-in-chief. He is our pretender in thief!
We have no Commander in Chief. Just a bunch of pansies who want to destroy everything America has ever stood for.
Thank God someone with 🏀⚾️ is coming back in to try to fix this 💩 show!
Your right, and we are mad about the current affairs.
Thank you for your service over there as well.
I cry to that song almost every time. I didn't lose a loved one. But I remember the heartbreak on that day. My sons were 5 months old and 13 months old.
20 yrs and I still think about it every day especially lately! NEVER FORGET #343

Being a widow of a 20 year retired vet, I won't forget. God bless to all. Thanks for your sharing.
Absolutely love this song. Thanks
2020 to now has been hell over here
No, we did not forget, but some politicians did. This should be on the radio and tv several times a day NOW.
I will never forget!❤️🙏🏻✌🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🥲

We will never forget! I will always remember what I was doing when I heard.
My God BE With The 13 Solders Family. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I will never forget! I hate what is going on now!
With all that’s happening in the world, no I have not forgotten - the lives we’ve lost in the last 20 years, and the veterans who returned to us broken. I have not forgotten…I may not agree with it, but I honor those who have served and are still serving to this day.
Some gave all, all gave some.
Never forget 🇺🇸
We have never forgotten.
I have forgotten many things in my 54 years, but, there a few things I will ALWAYS remember as an example: I will never forget the Challenger explosion and I will never forget what I was doing, where I was, and, how I felt that sad and tragic day in early September.
💔 I agree with you. What has happened is horrific and embarrassing.
Catching up on videos.

I appreciate the love you show our country. You don’t have to yet you do. I’d be honored to have your 6
Thank you for reacting to this song.
I was in eighth grade, my first class of the day when we heard what had happened. Ill never forget it.
God Bless You!!
All I can say to the embarrassment that is the US government at this moment is pray for us man. This regime is gonna be the ruin of this country.
You would rather have a convicted felon, a rapist, and a man that only thinks of himself? You should be ashamed of yourself.
My family and I still know where we were that day. I agree with your sentiments on what is happening now . I understand your frustration because I feel the same.
He just released a new song, “Send me”, brought me to my knees. USMC vet 93-97
I can never get through this song without crying. That was such a traumatizing day- and now it is traumatizing that people seem to have forgotten or just don’t care. I will never forget. I walked through ground zero about a month afterwards and those memories will be with me forever- and I will never stop supporting all of the troops that went to fight and keep us all safe from those responsible.
Attributed to George Washington “I'll die on my feet before I'll live on my knees!” President Washington must be so ashamed of the current president.
I can't call the interloper the current president.
@@Jennieallen415 I meant resident, living in public housing. Our taxes pay for it and his salary, and we will be strapped for his retirement and all its perks.
I know people have said this before, but you have more patriotism than a lot of people who live here in the US. Good for you sir. Keep up the good work. 🙂
I have not forgotten 😢 !
Yep lately this song is hitting very hard.. too many people have forgotten or aren’t old enough to remember why so many of us are so infuriated
I wasn't even alive but just thinking about it makes me so angry
Breaks my heart with the news of today. Praying for all, PAST, PRESENT, and FUTURE who is being felt used by this more POLITICAL move. 🙏

Thank you, Don, for your service for your country. Thank you for being a friend to America and serving next to my son with Nato. I will never forget your love and compassion.
old quote says those who forget the past are doomed.....after song commentary is spot on
We agree with you 100% re. your comments about the U S. withdrawal from Afghanistan....I personally know the family who lost their son* in Afghanistan & also the family of one of our *heros, who is a triple amputee from injuries he suffered in Afghanistan....they are, as yu can imagine, truly struggling & heartbroken with the current situation our leadership has led us in to..and these are only 2 examples out of probably thousands, (of those who have given their all) who are feeling the same...thank you for sharing your heart....stay safe, karen & family (*both heros are Army Rangers..."Rangers Lead The Way")
I have for the first time in my life that I’m ashamed of America !!! This isn’t who we are . This song is even more painful today
My mother knew one of the flight attendants on Flight 93. We have not nor ever will forget.
100% agree with your thoughts on the current "leadership" in the U.S.
I totally agree with all you said
I will NEVER forget
Oh here’s another one. Such a powerful song for the US.
God bless you, and Thank you for your service. I want you to know most of my nation is appalled by what our government is doing right now. Even some that actually voted for this buffoon. I am a Historian and every year I have to teach about the Vietnam War, eventually ending with the fall of Saigon. This year when I get to that part I expect I wont make it through dry eyed. I am ashamed to be living through this. I love your channel long time fan, first time commenter. I just had to say something after watching you struggle to get through that as much as I did. I hope all of us will pray for the Afghanis now caught up in this and left to the all too sparse "mercy" of the Taliban.
Thank you very much for your support Joe & thr comment. It is a complete disaster.
I totally agree with your final comment aswell. The Afghani people have been let down. I hope they don't get treated the way I think they will
I was 12 years old when 9/11 happened.
Other ones similar are Where Were You When World Stopped Turning by Alan Jackson and One Last Time by Dusty Drake.
I love this Song it means alot to so many people and Beautifully WRITTEN!
I was just in grade school at the time and I still remember that day like it was yesterday
A lot of people have forgotten. Not me.... I still cry for the lost, I still feel anger. 🇺🇸
