Spike got absolutely shat on throughout a lot of this show, and it’s a shame because Season 6 in particular has 3 great episodes with him and proves that his character can be good if given an actually good story.
YES! All three of those episodes were really good, and it sucks that in the seasons that followed momentum wasn’t continued from what Season 6 made.
The Spike abuse is what made me hate the show.

I really liked the premise of"What about Discord".The only thing that bothered me was:why are they always making Discord such an ass?I mean I understand that he wanted to teach Twilight a lesson, but why that way?
I'm guessing due to his eccentric and abrasive personality, he's an easy character to draw reactions from and go up against. It's why he stuck around as a plot advancing device after Season 2... not just for his own character development and fan popularity. Given it took multiple Seasons for the characters to even remotely warm up to him and continually use him for conflict in episode plots AFTER What About Discord, it's not surprising at all.

If you ask me, my pick for the worst episode of the show is The Mean Six.
I’m sure some people might think there are worst episodes, especially from the worst season. But for me, this was one of the most insufferable and painful experience I have ever had with a cartoon in recent years. The last time a cartoon episode made me feel this furious was Choir Boys from Spongebob. And this episode takes the same approach as THAT F**KING ATROCITY!!! The episode relies so hard on the misunderstanding running gag which needs to die in a ditch, the episode just decides to sandbag for most of the runtime relying on it’s pathetic comedy and slow pacing, and after all that has happened throughout this episode, the writer decide to tell us to f**k off with it’s ending making everything completely pointless. And the worst thing about this episode is that it has a great concept of Chrysalis using clones of the Mane Six to get the Elements of Harmony. They could’ve done literally anything with this concept. And instead, they waste it on one of the worst executions you can possibly give to a good concept. I’d honestly rather sit through the your entire ranking in rapid succession while being given the Ludovico technique than sit through even one more second of this F**KING ANIMATED ATROCITY!!! F**K THIS EPISODE!!!
I wasn’t a fan of that episode, if I recall correctly it was close to getting on this list… but I think it had a tied rating with the lower ones (25-23-ish) that stopped it from ending up there.

34:58 Worst character produced? Idk about that, there are plenty of candidates for that dishonor. Though Snips definitely has the most punchable face the series has ever produced.
Princess Spike was dreadfully boring and any episode that involves the young 6 or the pillars aren’t going to be among my favorites e.g. 2,4,6 Great, A Rockhoof and a Hard Place, so no arguments there.
My only real disagreement is that A Matter of Principals is the worst Discord episode, but I can see why What About Discord is on here.

Number one was a complete shocker IMO! I've never heard anyone say this was the worst episode. This is why i love looking at list like this year's after the show has ended. I love the difference of opinion we all have.
My worst episode: Appleloosa most wanted
Well, I tought that cutie mark appears to discover talents, not to ruin someone life and make owner "useful" in only one thing. Also, ponies are big hypocrits. When Troubleshoes destroyed someone, he is criminal. But when he does this same in bigger scale, but dressed as clown, he is best comedian ever. Also, Applejack don't remember actions from "somepony watching over me" (another very bad episode) and treats not only Applebloom, but also entire cmc like little children that needs babysitter. And this time she is not even nice.

i actually really loved Princess Spike because of Fancy Pants who is again,, really great and to me,, the one who should rule Kanterlot and not Celestia,, hes actually competent and know what to do and only get mad for actual good reason !
It’s too bad we never got the other half of What About Discord from Discord’s point of you where laughs are being had like with Games Ponies Play, and Just For Sidekicks
Imo Spike is at his best when he’s the deuteragonist of an episode like in Sparkle Seven which proved you can have him be relevant to the story without making everyone else look like an idiot. For whatever reason spike as the protagonist of an episode and spike as the deuteragonist of an episode act like COMPLETELY different characters
Damn it, i loved “the one where pinkie pie knows” I found pinkie overreactive behavior hilarious, but I understand why some may not like it
I’m surprised Rainbow Falls is not number one
Season 4 being overrated and one of the worst of the show pretty much summarizes people's thoughts about it.

Honestly I actually kind of like sike at your service like I like how excited Spike is.
12: bad episode, overall disliked it and it tried to salvage a bully, not good episode but just barely not good enough to be top 25 worst episode
11: disgusting episode, hate it probably worthy on the list of top 25 worst episode
10: awful episode overall, didn’t enjoy applejack and rainbow tensions for no real reason just barely unworthy being on the top 25 worst episodes
9: really fun episode in my opinion loved pinkie’s over reactive behavior in this episode. One of my favorite episode and I do not feel bad for that
8: was cute until pinkie had to watch the babies awful episode, probably worthy of top 25 worst episode
7: i actually don’t mind this episode, I found this episode somewhat entertaining, probably a guilty pleasure the way they finished off the timber wolves sucked though

Princess Spike being the very worst episode on this ranking proves one thing about this show that I noticed from the get go. Spike almost always got the short end of the stick and was the emotional (and sometimes literal) punching bag for the mane six throughout the shows run. For a show that tried that it best to destroy gender stereotypes. It could sometimes could care less about that goal and make fun of boys/men whenever it could. If MLPFIM was a show about teenagers/young men and Spike was a little girl people would probably be screaming SEXIST every Spike got screwed over.
Completely agree. This is especially true in the first few seasons, where Faust’s influence permeated.
Due to Faust’s female empowerment ideology, male characters were always reduced to allow the females to shine brightly... which explains why Spike’s role was marginalised and eventually channelled into an area of derisory stigma. He always portrayed very negative male stereotypes and despite attempts to give him a purpose and character development, it was always to his detriment. Thankfully someone realised that his character needed a kick up the arse to be commendable, which is why Season 6’s three Spike-centric episodes stand above all prior and future ones, and make their presence stands out like a sore thumb.
Cathy Weseluck told me herself at the last BronyCon that Spike had been unfairly portrayed on many occasions during the show’s run... which says a lot more than I ever could.

I know from experience that a relationship between two hyper-introverts who can barely speak to each other is a horrible idea in almost every possible way. Mac x Marble just reeks of that.
I am VERY disappointed Crusaders Of The Lost Mark was never on this list.
I loved that episode, but each to their own.

12. Guilty pleasure, it’s extremely poorly written but it’s a fun episode to watch. Missed potential at its finest.
11. Hearts and Hooves day is already an episode that would make my list, this episode is a dumpster fire, it’s just yuck 🤢. Deserving of its spot.
10. Now we are starting to get into the episodes I despise, it’s a poorly written re-tread of Fall Weather Friends but unlike this episode where it’s a self contained rivalry and is early in their friendship this involves other ponys. It’s an absolute shitfest and one of the worst episodes in the show. Season 8 tried to be a soft-reboot of the series and completely failed. Dosent that remind you of a certain other Saturday morning cartoon COUGH COUGH POKÉMON COUGH COIGH.
9. FINALLY, someone gets how bad this episode is, it just feels completely contrived, why would Shining Armor and Cadence tell Pinkie of all ponies?, it’s just pinkie torture.

WHAT! Did not expect this episode on the list, when I heard season 4. Didn’t like the episode but it wouldn’t be near my 25 worst, it’s a guilty pleasure of mine although I don’t like RD/Fluttershys arc that much. Rainbow Falls and Filli Vanilli were both much worse episodes in my opinion.
4. I expected this episode to show up, but think it was actually okay, not great but okay. Twilights character did get shaken up in S9 but compared to the 5 other episodes that handled this (the premiere, the ending of the end, trivial pursuit and between dark and dawn). I think it actually handled it the best, twilight was crazy but it was mostly contained within her and her immediate surroundings compared. Better than Lesson Zero IMO.

1. Im gonna make a pre-watched prediction. I’m guessing it’s Somepony to watch over me (not my least favourite in the show but I do hate it with a passion). If not that then maybe Yakity Sax? That’s a top 5 least favourite of mine. Maybe parental glideance? Newbie Dash?
Wow! Didn’t expect that, I think it’s just a very bad episode but didn’t expect this to go No1, although I can see why it’s here, it’s plot is horrid and there is no humour.
