What would happen if the writers switched the characteristics and personality between Rainbow and Spike since she's a jerk like any other wild dragon in this show while Spike showed absolute loyalty to those around him despite his suffering?
Agreed. Personality and appearance-wise she's easily likeable and I'd have not included her on this list if she was used in a more plentiful capacity. Lord knows how she'd be as a character now if she was actually useful instead of uninteresting window dressing.
Just becuz she is perfect doesn’t mean she is boring she is not meant to get a character development like the mane six no other character does . She is meant to be a mentor role like the other alicorns and also if ppl complain about shining and cadence and yet still love the perfect pear it just doesn’t make sense imo I don’t see why cadence deserves all the hate she gets.i mean what’s the problem with a character being normal , if ppl are ok with background characters like derpy Lyra etc who are all also normal I don’t get why cadence and flash have to be hated because of this not every character needs to contribute heavily to the story especially for a cast as big as Fim ( and that’s also the reason why sunset wasn’t able to make it into the ending of the end episodes I assume tho it would have been pretty cool)

Cadence is my favorite princess, although I love all alicorns except Luna. >inb4 “muh Luna is best princess”: I don’t like Luna, despite being forgiven too easily she’s still ungrateful for it and continues to whine about Celestia getting more love than her. Maybe if Luna did something other than sulking around the castle, the ponies would love her as much as they love Celestia.

I personally think twilight is a bad character. I mean her roll in friendship isn’t very good. Kindness, generosity, loyalty, honesty, laughter and finally *drumroll* MAGIC. She also is not a very realistic character. She is a teachers pet, she came from a really rich part of equestria , she literally didn’t have to pay anything for her house library thing, she went off and became an alicorn, and is princess of ponyville. How can life be that perfect. Sure she can be sweet, but honestly she can be kinda a know it all.
Lily Belle It’s all bout how she see things. Twilight DID grow up in a rich neighborhood, but she still chooses to help others and she ALWAYS puts other needs and wants before her own. Her biggest problem is her mindset. The fact that she has everything hints she knows she’s never needed anything or work hard for things yet despite this she always is willing to listen to those who break the law because they don’t. Quite opposite to our own way of thinking.
Her life wasn't that perfect because of the challenges she had to face...It may seem like she has a perfect life but she has a failure side of her life. But honestly I think Twilight shouldn't get most of the attention because her friends' elements represent the element of friendship except for her.
I think Twilight is a bad character since she has chosen to neglect Spike in order to go on adventures with her friends and she treats him like a slave but doesn't show any kind of sympathy for him. The only good thing Twilight did for Spike was making him her royal advisor after she became the new ruler of Equestria

Rainbow was a hard sell for me when I first started watching. She reminded me of friends that would act nice at times but still felt like they were entitled to the best of....She was the Diamond Tiara of adult ponies.
Answers to good mlp characters on this list. Cadence: She doesn’t JUST spread love around equestria, she protects the crystal empire. Btw, if there was no love, the changelings would win! Couples would be fighting. And without protecting the crystal empire, Sombra would win! Cadence is an alicorn for a reason ya know. Snips and snails: yes, they are annoying. But they are there to make humour. And although they aren’t funny, remember, this show are MEANT for kids, not adults. Sombra: poor Sombra... He’s hated way to much! Nobody cares about how intelligent he is! He ripped out the page about the info of the heart, he put on crazy traps that only unicorns and alicorns could solve and he put an alarm at the top of the tower to know when a pony’s near the heart! Even Luna said he was powerful! Rainbow dash: yes, she is annoying. But ya know, NOBODY even notices that the kind of pony’s who get things wrong, are the best! She proved that like 1000 times! Also, if rainbow didn’t perform the sonic rainboom. There would be NO friendship! All the villains would win. Starlight would stay evil. It all counts on that one pegasus. Yes, she is overrated. But she’s overrated for a good reason.
While I fully understand that Cadence does have a 'purpose' in the broader scheme of things, it still doesn't flesh her out too well. She does just act as window dressing with very little consequence. I would like to see her get her hoofs dirty sometimes and contribute more, and in all fairness if she did, then her position on this list probably wouldn't have been assured. Yeah, I get your point, but thanks to Snips And Snails, it took a LONG time for male characters to be something more in the show, so I will always hate them for that. Hell, even when I was a kid I would've hated their type of humour anyway, so it wouldn't have worked either way. That intelligence is subdued because of how fleeting Sombra was, the comics did more for him than his appearance ever did. They always say people judge you more on your first impressions than whatever else you do afterwards, and no MLP character sums this up more than Sombra. While I agree, his smarts are there, it's not the first thing I think about and I can blame the writers for messing up on that. If it was such a focal point to his character for the love of god they should've made an effort to not some iconography or symbolism to make it work. Rainbow's importance to the universes lore and character development across the series is validated, and showcases how good of a character she's been for the show and there's no problem with that. Then again, if she wasn't the 'face' of the show to many and as a result and had the obsessive fans she has, I wouldn't be as salty about her as I am... at the same time I've grown to respect her after Parental Glideance as a lot of my issues with her now have context. I said in the video that time can be a healer of wounds, and damn was I right about this.
@Brittany Miller RD deserve her popularity well, RD is more of overhated than overrated meanwhile Fluttershy is truly the meaning of overrated. You can see Fluttershy fans always defend every flaws she does and even praise littlest things that she did and insult other people for disliking Fluttershy or saying anything about her flaws. Fluttershy's fans are truly the worst.

Same. RD is my favorite character in it. When he ranted about how much he hates RD, a part of me wanted to snap and get triggered by him, but I understood his opinion, even though I don't agree with him, since I love Rainbow Dash so much.

Fluttershy is one of my favourite among all main characters in this show. Wish the writers made her feel sympathy for Spike and made Twilight Sparkle and the others realise that he should be treated as an equal
Cadence and Shining Armor has so much potential. They could of been great big brother and sister figure to Twilight cause they are. When they have those moments, or moments that shows hidden depth. But some how their newborn daughter is more interesting.
In Diamond Tiaras defense, she was influenced by her mother and even encouraged to act a certain way by Spoiled Rich. As a child, your parents should be looked at as ultimate role models but children are also easily impressionable. So its understandable Diamond Tiara would emulate her mothers viewpoints and behave accordingly. Crusaders of the Lost Mark shows that at some point, Diamond began doubting her mothers influence and desired something better, hence "The Pony I Want to Be" but she didn't know what she wanted or how to go about achieving it. It isn't until the CMC clubhouse meeting that we see a glimpse of the true Diamond Tiara. She asks the CMC if they sit around finding new ways to find their cutie marks and when they respond "yes" Diamond Tiara says " You three are..." as if to insult them like she usually would, but pauses and then says "really lucky" This and what Diamond Tiara says afterwards reveals how confused, lost, manipulated and alone she really is. Towards the end of the episode, the CMC present Diamond Tiara with an alternate option and when both the CMC and Spoiled Rich come into the picture, Diamond Tiara finally makes her choice and she chooses the CMC and stick up to her mother. When Diamond Tiara lost everything and was at her lowest, her mother scolded her rather than comfort her, while the CMC, the 3 ponies she bullied, reached out and offered friendship and kindness. All Diamond Tiara ever needed was help. Overall, I can respect your opinion and I hope you respect mine. However, I will say I find several of your choices to be far worse that Diamond Tiara. I'm surprised Spoiled Rich didn't even make the list. So, when it comes to characters I want to strangle!.....Diamond Tiara has officially left my list. Svengallip on the other hand is number one; hate that pompous arse!
You said you hate RD, and one of reasones why are crimes she comited... well, I have to disagree with that one. I mean, if you don' like her it's ok for me (even if she's my favourite character), but I don't really buy this argument. In fact all the Main 6 do things like that, just look at Twilight. She broke into Stars Swirl's archives, she enchanted a doll and make the whole village gone crazy. Even Fluttershy does such things (the first Grand Galloping Galla). I understand what can annoy you in Rainbows behavior, I really do, but I don't think this exact thing is a rational reason to dislike her. Actually, his hate for Rainbow is because of her extremely overblown ego. The fact she got away with so many crimes just makes it more infuriating. I don't hate her, I like Rainbow Dash, but it makes me want to punch her too. P.S.: English isn't my native language too.

Her singing voice IS great, no doubts about that. Bringing love to the world... without any real showcasing of her doing it most of the time she's on screen doesn't help validate her for me.
Dashie's my personal favorite, but I can see how she'd be a little off-putting to some, especially in the earlier seasons of the show. She became my favorite through the later seasons. But yeah, even with that, you cool my dude👌
I have the same experience - she definitely grew on me through the later seasons but I never had a problem with her really. She's just soo awesome, haha
IMO: the thing about rainbow dash is that i want to like her, but sometimes her arrogance is just too annoying. i loved her as a kid (cosplayed as her once), but that was in 6th grade when being rude was cool. im a high school senior now, and god is she annoying. she just, never learns to stop. no matter how many times she gets corrected, she reverts back. pretty stagnant character. sometimes shes cool but like, chill, you arent *that* cool lol
Amen to that. Being that one dimensional attitude-wise is exactly the point of where a LOT of my hate came from in the early seasons. Too cool to read books Rainbow? How cliched and sterile an assumption is that? She may have matured a decent amount over the seasons but not enough to rid the negative impact of her appropriately stated stagnant personality.
Concerning Rainbow Dash, you at least acknowledged her positives and potential for improvement. That's a huge plus for me when it comes to whether or not I can respect a negative opinion of something I like. You're problems with her are understandable even if I don't find them entirely agreeable. So no hard feelings from me. You actually have a pretty good head on your shoulders from what I've seen of your other vids. Keep doing what you're doing.
The main reason for me hating Starlight is because she got the redemption arc that Chrysalis deserved. The writers really did Chrysalis dirty, heck, they didn’t even need to bring the school into the series to do an episode on racism, because the way the ponies treated Thorax at the start was deplorable.
@@koalapaint that makes sense but I really love starlight. I just wish that starlight redeemed chrysalis, twilight redeemed tirek, and the cmcs, redeemed cozy. I loved the mean 3, legion of doom, etc. I get that sometimes you can’t change a pony, but I wish that at least these three changed. In season 9 ep 8 we got to see them get so close to getting reformed but due to plot chrysalis refused causing the other two to refuse also. Even if it was only chrysalis I wanted her to get reformed, especially after the season 6 finale

Good picks for the list! I like Rainbow Dash, she was my favourite back when I started to watch MLP, and even thou that spot now fills Fluttershy, I still like her. BUT I can see why you would dislike her. There are a lot of episodes where is just plain annoying. For example the Episode "Secret and Pies" is horrible, with her lying to Pinkie the Entire Episode in such a awful way... I personally dislike Flurry Heart, but its not 100% the characters fault but more like how the creators displayed her. Being a overpowered Mary Sue Character....and yet ANOTHER Alicorn? I mean, what kind of princess will she be when she grows up? Princess of the McFlurry? I think I would like her more if she was just simply a Pegasus or Unicorn.
Yep. Pretty sure Princess Flurry Heart was made just for plot and toys. Plus, she’s so unimportant, she wasn’t even included in the last episode of MLP! Like bruh, what she look like? We’ll never know!
@@valentinesforvalerie She was, but only in one of the windows of the castle - but thats just as bad as not showing her at all, since we dont get to see her importance to the Crystal Empire once she has grown up, which is something that's just essential and should have been shown!

Cadence rules the crystal empire that spreads love, light, and Hope. These things are what power the crystal empire. This brings a functional loop to keep the crystal empire going, the light keeps darkness away, too, and hope keeps ponies spirits up to help them power the crystal heart, to defeat any threats. Sorry, I really just wanted to put that out there.
I don't like Rainbow Dash. She didn't care about Fluttershy's and others feelings about her pranks. She didn't care about Pinkie rejecting her offer to go to Sweet Apple Acres and just took her by force.
The thing is, the Crystal Ponies do respect Spike a whole lot, and the Crystal Guards are much better than Canterlot's. Not only that, but the Canterlot Ponies really mistreated Spike in that one episode, unlike the Crystal Ponies.
Some Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon follow up episodes were pitched to Hasbro but an exec shut it down saying that they believed that their story was over. I believe that they would have gone a long way in helping them get over with the fans more. Almost any brony would have seen that as a positive seeing as how Sunset Shimmer and Starlight Glimmer were given screen time to show how much better their lives were without being villainous. But an executive said no. What do suits know about fleshing out characters? It sucks how much of a say they had in what they thought made the property work better.
My thought on your picks 10: Fair enough, he bullied Spike, tried to be king, and disrespects Ember for no reason, I agree with you. 9: I personally like the background ponies in both cities like Twinkleshine, Fancy Pants (Which is not a background pony), and his friends like Fleur Dis Lee, I hate the rest however, an example will be Jet Set (Which I did not get when he is on sale in the MLP game) and Upper Crust, they trigger Rarity for nothing at all. I agree with most Crystal Empire citizens and Canterloters. 8: This is the first one I disagree with, Cadence protected Crystal Empire as good as she can, and she gave birth to Flurry Heart, which is a cute character, and she did help Twilight and Shining Armor's story many times, and if she not protected Crystal Empire, Sombra will take it over, you should put EG Flash in this position. 7: I think it's little harsh, and hating on the Apple Family is also a little harsh, Braeburn's singing pose is okay looking. 6: This is the other one I disagree with, it's too easy for hating RD, in fact, I can think some worse Mane 6 members, like Rarity and Pinkie, every Mane 6 did crime as well, if she did not perform the Sonic Rainboom, Villains like Starlight, Discord, etc, all villains will win, she is overrated for a reason. 5: Extra agreed, She is easily the main antagonist in the episode, she deserve that magic from the green slime guy (write in the comments if you know his name), and Discord is the best villain in MLP in my opinion. 4: Three in 1, really, by the way, I hate Zesty out of all 3, they bully Rarity and Applejack for nothing. 3: It's a little harsh, I am neutral with him, and he has a cool back story in the book, I am a Discord fanboy, not a Sombra fanboy, by the way. 2: Agreed, Snails might beat Braeburn, but the two are ugly and dumb ponies that cause too many trouble, I like the CMCs better. 1: Agreed, Diamond Tiara and her user counterpart both suck, she bully the CMCs (and RD, for the user), but I think Silver spoon is worse, even she reformed, I still hate her. Sunset , why? Sunset's a UA-camr, the best designer for rarity, the seventh element of harmony, realizes she was wrong and she actually has the most beautiful mane , it's more Beautiful than twilight's , an d of course midnight sparkle would be still in the series if it wasn't for her goddess form

I don't think you realize that all of the main six were created to have personality disorders and that's why they act like that. In other words you just insulted anyone with mental instabilities. Not to mention what the crystal ponies went through. Being tortured as slaves for years and years and then being banished for over a thousand years with no one to help them and no contact with the outside world for thousands of years. Again, insulting people with mental instabilities.
I feel like you're just stoking non-existent fires for attention. As a person with Asperger's, ADHD and social anxiety issues... I COULD take slight offence to that generalisation but I won't. The beauty of The Mane Six is that they have flaws that contradict with the elements they have to hopefully create more rounded personalities, sadly they're not always written with to facilitate them well enough. In regards to Crystal Ponies... after all they'd been through I wouldn't want to see them be crabby and stuck up like they are but humble and full of the love they spout. Too bad I don't see that regularly.
The CC Network, unfortunately the mlp script is falling apart a little bit and I think they're running out of ideas, and I definitely hate how they introduced a lot of the ponies in this movie, but think about it. Saying you hate the ponies is saying that you hate the voice actors. They're purple ponie princess for god's sake. I think you should have been more specific and rather say you hate the character, you should say you hate the character's attributes written in the show. That would've been better and saved you a lot of BS. Also, the reason why I found those things offensive is because I come from a long line of family and outside trauma. I have sever anxiety and depression and I have to have a service dog go everywhere with me. I don't mind anyone saying their opinions, we have the right to say whatever we believe, I think people should just choose their words more carefully.
King Sombra is the best villain and he is the villain with the most emotional back story. Plus he wasn't suppose to be like the others he was suppose to be more like Sauron, Arthas, Zarkon, Darseid, or Dormammu and he achieved it quite well. Also Trixe should have been on the list.
I factored in only the show's representation of the characters when I made this list. The Season 9 premiere saved some face for Sombra but wouldn't remove him from this list entirely I were to remake it. I like Trixie... but even I got sick of her by the end of the show, she probably wouldn't end up on this list anyway.

Thanks for points 1 & 2, I put them on there for the reasons stated and my opinion about Silver Spoon and Suri are indifferent and I LOVE Sci Twi, so she wouldn't be on this list IMO.
Unlike the hate sinks I noted, Suri's comeuppance wasn't humiliating enough for me to consider her for that category. Sure, Rarity beat her with new designs, but the conclusion of the episode and its moral weren't intertwined with her defeat. As a result, her inclusion wasn't warranted.
You all can hate me, but I am not a fan of Fluttershy. Sure, she's cute and her character develops well. But OH MY GOD she is such a doormat. Seriously. We see a few episodes where she stands up for herself and others. Other than that, she's just a quiet pushover.
I’m not a fan of Fluttershy either. When somepony like rainbow dash or Gilda or somebody makes her cry, they get mad at them, but when fluttershy make them cry she gets away with it.

I've already done a Favourite Characters list, but it's out of date considering it was made after Season 4. I'm needing to update it, will do sometime next year.

I bet almost all of the dislikes are from the fact Rainbow Dash was on the list. I mean, I haven't watched the show in forever but even I get annoyed by Rainbow Dash and the butthurt fans in the comment section.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, apparently disliking RD is sacrilegious and makes you the worst person. It shouldn't be the case, but it is according to some.

You state this like you didn't listen to what I said in the video, it's my opinion, she's on here because I chose her to be for the reasons I stated. Not just that, it would help if you defined the usage of 'realistic' in relation to Rainbow, just stating it doesn't hold your argument well at all.

About rainbow dash personally she's not my least favorite but she's also not my favorite I can't completely disagree with a lot of your critiques but I do have some things to say about them one of the biggest things I've heard is her "selfishness" mostly being pointed out because she's the elements of loyalty I think this is one of the reasons why rarity gets a lot of hate as well because both of their personalities strongly conflicts with their element rarity is the element of generosity but is very greedy at times while rainbow dash extremely confidence and self-absorbed even though she's the element of loyalty but one of the biggest differences about rainbow dash and rarity is that rarity gets more good episodes not to say rainbow Dash's episodes are bad but she does get the short end of the stick because 90% of rainbow Dash's episodes she's a conflict she causes her own problems a lot like your problems with tree hugger she's the antagonist she's the problem so I'm actually gives off the view that she's the bad guy well I think there could have been more episodes for her to shine well also this is a personal thing rainbow dash gets called out all the time for being "selfish" while I would argue that Twilight is just a selfish but doesn't get called out because she's the main character moving on to another reason rainbow dash gets called out a lot is her overconfidence or cockiness honestly that's because of her parents a lot like with diamond tiara rainbow Dash's parents caused her to act like this in the episode parental guidance it was showing that rainbow Dash's parents constantly told her she is the best half literally everything leaving her to leave the wholeheartedly but putting her in such a pedestal also is where a lot of her insecurities come from as being constantly told you're the best you feel the need to be the best even rainbow dash saying something like that herself in the episode fame and misfortune she's says in the song we're not flawless "my confidence comes off as cocky but it gives me the courage to fail" so anytime she's put in the place of "second best" she's in the mindset of not being able to live up to the expectations of her parents lastly want to talk about her "not being loyal" I strongly disagree about this as to use Twilight as an example again her literal thing is being the princess of friendship while 90% of our conflicts when it comes to the season premieres or finales it's her not trusting or believing in her friends which she does a lot of I'm going to talk about a specific episode with rainbow dash that most people hate rainbow falls most people complain that rainbow dash is completely wrong and should have no trouble choosing between the two things while I very much disagree about this in this episode of rainbow dash not only has the chance to fly with her idols but to fly for her hometown that being the important part the thing is it being loyal to her friends or being loyal her home which I don't think enough people acknowledge that yeah this is her hometown which she feels a lot of pride in so the fact that people expect her to make this decision so quickly they're not thinking about it from her perspective even though she ends up doing the right thing because of seeing them being unloyal to one of their teammates making her take a look from another perspective also to speak about her doing so many "arrestable offenses" yeah almost all of the main seven has done something to put the entire town of ponyville danger in some way at some point ( side note when I say the main seven I'm not talking about the starlight she is not deserve that spot in my opinion )
Don't forget Twilight who makes Spike feel so left out since she is so selfish not to include him on all the good times with her and her friends? And she's never really understands how Spike feels since she's supposed to be the princess of friendship
When he goes off on rainbow and the " real life laws" i litterly said out loud " well this is equestria not our world" and rainbow dash's charater is suppose to be egotistical and if you hear in the song " flawless" she admits her ego comes off a cocky but she's like you bro she tell you to go shove your opinion you know where :)

My No.1 most hated character has to be the EG Twilight with all her self pity and the ability to ruin every scene she is in with her awkward and repeatative "why me" and "no, I can't". HATE her. Friendship Games happens to be the bane of my existence partly because of this and needs to be killed with the holy'est of fire.

I was majorly surprised that Zacora, celestia or rarity to not make it on the list and while I agree with snips and snails, diamond tiara, expecally tree hugger I must say rainbow and cadence both seem to continue to grow and bringing others with them providing unique new characters in the show that I personally believe shouldn’t be so high on the list for writing errors
Also rainbow dash can sometimes be sort of mean to scoots e.g in the episode the washouts she was just horrible!Not wanting scoots to develop outside of the rainbow dash fan club then when scoots and her are out side the cmc clubhouse she completely shrugs of everything scootaloo is saying.Oh well...the ending to the episode was really sweet
No, she tried to made her hate the washouts because rd knows it’s dangerous and she doesn’t want scootaloo to get hurt! And rd made a scootaloo fan club after. Rainbow didn’t try to stop her for her fan club, she tried to stop her so she doesn’t get hurt! And she did apologise after.
I disagree with cadence , she doesn’t need to have development, sure she was under used but there are bigger priorities and cadence represents a character that is a normal perfect one who acts as a mentor for the protagonist she isn’t a bad character.For shining he is a wasted opportunity but that is the writers fault for making him an idiot so it honestly bothers me to see idiots like smurf just bashing him just because of who he is again he is not supposed to get an in depth character and I also I don’t think RD is that bad

Once you find out in Season 5's Griffonstone episode that all the species acts hostile because of the way society runs in their land, it's an easy way to have SOME sympathy. The Griffons outside Gabby may be irritating but once that socio-political context is added, it makes it hard to truly hate any of them.

My least favorite ponies are: Babs: She bullies and straight-up it feels like she's blaming the CMC for her bully problem back in Manehattan. Sweetie Belle: I just think giving a vain character like Rarity a little sibling isn't necessary and Sisterhooves Social to me feels like making them sisters is a big mistake. And her eyes (green) and mane (pink streak) boggles me their parents don't have that. Rainbow Dash: She always betrays her friends. C'mon Twilight! Real friends don't betray each other. Pinkie Pie: She doesn't realize her jokes can be hurtful Luna Eclipse is a good example.

Dash needs to leave Pinkie and Rarity behind because if she don't then they will lost AJ because Applejack will ran away and never came back to ponyville. I hate Rarity the most, who gives a care if she is suppose to be pretty or what ever. She is so selfish and vain, she doesn't fit her element at all! She fits the title of stereotypical teenage girl. I think I would be more okay with it if she had social media or something and was more obsessed with gaining followers and stuff like that. But srsly, does every girl have to be a fashionista? She herself fits into the snobby canter lot ponies. She cut off her tail once for a sea serpent and now she is generous? What?!? She only helped him because she thought he was ugly! How rude!
Rarity, much like Pinkie can either be as good or as bad a character depending on who is writing them. She can be a right queen bitch, or a level headed yet entitled and egotistical person (it comes with the territory much as hyperactivity comes with Ponka). Her personality has softened over the series run, as those morals she has to follow keep piling up which is great. The contrast between the selfishness and that element are what makes her such a deep one, while she does show that generosity as the song states, he has immense flaws that he's had to work hard to try and mend over the last seven seasons. Sure, some episodes with Rarity as the lead character in the story CAN be quite infuriating, but I like the fact I've watched her gradually change over time and become less egotistical over that period... sure she can still dole it out on occasion but compare the Rarity of now to the Rarity of Seasons 1 & 2, and to me there IS a difference in how she's portrayed.
Well done you've angered the entire MLP community. You dissed some of the best characters for no reason. I agree with only a few of the things you say. The Crystal Empire did nothing wrong and they're a lovely community, they were depressed and had ptsd after being slaves for over 1000 years. Cadence plays an important role because she rules a kingdom and fixes broken relationships. Snips and snails are supposed to be like annoying little boys and they are lackeys because they just want to be liked like all little boys in life.

I personally think twilight is a bad character. I mean her roll in friendship isn’t very good. Kindness, generosity, loyalty, honesty, laughter and finally *drumroll* MAGIC. She also is not a very realistic character. She is a teachers pet, she came from a really rich part of equestria , she literally didn’t have to pay anything for her house library thing, she went off and became an alicorn, and is princess of ponyville. How can life be that perfect. Sure she can be sweet, but honestly she can be kinda a know it all.

It’s all bout how she see things. Twilight DID grow up in a rich neighborhood, but she still chooses to help others and she ALWAYS puts other needs and wants before her own.
Her biggest problem is her mindset. The fact that she has everything hints she knows she’s never needed anything or work hard for things yet despite this she always is willing to listen to those who break the law because they don’t. Quite opposite to our own way of thinking.
Her life wasn't that perfect because of the challenges she had to face...It may seem like she has a perfect life but she has a failure side of her life. But honestly I think Twilight shouldn't get most of the attention because her friends' elements represent the element of friendship except for her.
Why is Twilight the 👑princess and not Flutter shy, Applejack, Rainbow Dash , pinkie pie and Rarity the princess they also help her
I think Twilight is a bad character since she has chosen to neglect Spike in order to go on adventures with her friends and she treats him like a slave but doesn't show any kind of sympathy for him. The only good thing Twilight did for Spike was making him her royal advisor after she became the new ruler of Equestria

Rainbow was a hard sell for me when I first started watching. She reminded me of friends that would act nice at times but still felt like they were entitled to the best of....She was the Diamond Tiara of adult ponies.

Cadence: She doesn’t JUST spread love around equestria, she protects the crystal empire. Btw, if there was no love, the changelings would win! Couples would be fighting. And without protecting the crystal empire, Sombra would win! Cadence is an alicorn for a reason ya know.
Snips and snails: yes, they are annoying. But they are there to make humour. And although they aren’t funny, remember, this show are MEANT for kids, not adults.
Sombra: poor Sombra... He’s hated way to much! Nobody cares about how intelligent he is! He ripped out the page about the info of the heart, he put on crazy traps that only unicorns and alicorns could solve and he put an alarm at the top of the tower to know when a pony’s near the heart! Even Luna said he was powerful!
Rainbow dash: yes, she is annoying. But ya know, NOBODY even notices that the kind of pony’s who get things wrong, are the best! She proved that like 1000 times! Also, if rainbow didn’t perform the sonic rainboom. There would be NO friendship! All the villains would win. Starlight would stay evil. It all counts on that one pegasus. Yes, she is overrated. But she’s overrated for a good reason.
While I fully understand that Cadence does have a 'purpose' in the broader scheme of things, it still doesn't flesh her out too well. She does just act as window dressing with very little consequence. I would like to see her get her hoofs dirty sometimes and contribute more, and in all fairness if she did, then her position on this list probably wouldn't have been assured.
Yeah, I get your point, but thanks to Snips And Snails, it took a LONG time for male characters to be something more in the show, so I will always hate them for that. Hell, even when I was a kid I would've hated their type of humour anyway, so it wouldn't have worked either way.
That intelligence is subdued because of how fleeting Sombra was, the comics did more for him than his appearance ever did. They always say people judge you more on your first impressions than whatever else you do afterwards, and no MLP character sums this up more than Sombra. While I agree, his smarts are there, it's not the first thing I think about and I can blame the writers for messing up on that. If it was such a focal point to his character for the love of god they should've made an effort to not some iconography or symbolism to make it work.
Rainbow's importance to the universes lore and character development across the series is validated, and showcases how good of a character she's been for the show and there's no problem with that. Then again, if she wasn't the 'face' of the show to many and as a result and had the obsessive fans she has, I wouldn't be as salty about her as I am... at the same time I've grown to respect her after Parental Glideance as a lot of my issues with her now have context. I said in the video that time can be a healer of wounds, and damn was I right about this.

Cadence and Shining Armor has so much potential. They could of been great big brother and sister figure to Twilight cause they are. When they have those moments, or moments that shows hidden depth. But some how their newborn daughter is more interesting.
In Diamond Tiaras defense, she was influenced by her mother and even encouraged to act a certain way by Spoiled Rich. As a child, your parents should be looked at as ultimate role models but children are also easily impressionable. So its understandable Diamond Tiara would emulate her mothers viewpoints and behave accordingly.
Crusaders of the Lost Mark shows that at some point, Diamond began doubting her mothers influence and desired something better, hence "The Pony I Want to Be" but she didn't know what she wanted or how to go about achieving it.
It isn't until the CMC clubhouse meeting that we see a glimpse of the true Diamond Tiara. She asks the CMC if they sit around finding new ways to find their cutie marks and when they respond "yes" Diamond Tiara says " You three are..." as if to insult them like she usually would, but pauses and then says "really lucky" This and what Diamond Tiara says afterwards reveals how confused, lost, manipulated and alone she really is.
Towards the end of the episode, the CMC present Diamond Tiara with an alternate option and when both the CMC and Spoiled Rich come into the picture, Diamond Tiara finally makes her choice and she chooses the CMC and stick up to her mother. When Diamond Tiara lost everything and was at her lowest, her mother scolded her rather than comfort her, while the CMC, the 3 ponies she bullied, reached out and offered friendship and kindness. All Diamond Tiara ever needed was help.
Overall, I can respect your opinion and I hope you respect mine. However, I will say I find several of your choices to be far worse that Diamond Tiara. I'm surprised Spoiled Rich didn't even make the list.

I mean, if you don' like her it's ok for me (even if she's my favourite character), but I don't really buy this argument. In fact all the Main 6 do things like that, just look at Twilight. She broke into Stars Swirl's archives, she enchanted a doll and make the whole village gone crazy. Even Fluttershy does such things (the first Grand Galloping Galla). I understand what can annoy you in Rainbows behavior, I really do, but I don't think this exact thing is a rational reason to dislike her. This is not a real world, it's Equestria, and we must remember that things work a bit different there. Still, nice video.

Amen to that. Being that one dimensional attitude-wise is exactly the point of where a LOT of my hate came from in the early seasons. Too cool to read books Rainbow? How cliched and sterile an assumption is that? She may have matured a decent amount over the seasons but not enough to rid the negative impact of her appropriately stated stagnant personality.

I personally love Starlight, so that explains why she isn't here. Each to their own.
The main reason for me hating Starlight is because she got the redemption arc that Chrysalis deserved. The writers really did Chrysalis dirty, heck, they didn’t even need to bring the school into the series to do an episode on racism, because the way the ponies treated Thorax at the start was deplorable.
@@koalapaint that makes sense but I really love starlight. I just wish that starlight redeemed chrysalis, twilight redeemed tirek, and the cmcs, redeemed cozy. I loved the mean 3, legion of doom, etc. I get that sometimes you can’t change a pony, but I wish that at least these three changed. In season 9 ep 8 we got to see them get so close to getting reformed but due to plot chrysalis refused causing the other two to refuse also. Even if it was only chrysalis I wanted her to get reformed, especially after the season 6 finale

I like Rainbow Dash, she was my favourite back when I started to watch MLP, and even thou that spot now fills Fluttershy, I still like her. BUT I can see why you would dislike her. There are a lot of episodes where is just plain annoying. For example the Episode "Secret and Pies" is horrible, with her lying to Pinkie the Entire Episode in such a awful way...
I personally dislike Flurry Heart, but its not 100% the characters fault but more like how the creators displayed her. Being a overpowered Mary Sue Character....and yet ANOTHER Alicorn? I mean, what kind of princess will she be when she grows up? Princess of the McFlurry?

I don't like Rainbow Dash. She didn't care about Fluttershy's and others feelings about her pranks. She didn't care about Pinkie rejecting her offer to go to Sweet Apple Acres and just took her by force.
The thing is, the Crystal Ponies do respect Spike a whole lot, and the Crystal Guards are much better than Canterlot's. Not only that, but the Canterlot Ponies really mistreated Spike in that one episode, unlike the Crystal Ponies.
Some Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon follow up episodes were pitched to Hasbro but an exec shut it down saying that they believed that their story was over. I believe that they would have gone a long way in helping them get over with the fans more. Almost any brony would have seen that as a positive seeing as how Sunset Shimmer and Starlight Glimmer were given screen time to show how much better their lives were without being villainous. But an executive said no. What do suits know about fleshing out characters? It sucks how much of a say they had in what they thought made the property work better.

9: I personally like the background ponies in both cities like Twinkleshine, Fancy Pants (Which is not a background pony), and his friends like Fleur Dis Lee, I hate the rest however, an example will be Jet Set (Which I did not get when he is on sale in the MLP game) and Upper Crust, they trigger Rarity for nothing at all. I agree with most Crystal Empire citizens and Canterloters.
8: This is the first one I disagree with, Cadence protected Crystal Empire as good as she can, and she gave birth to Flurry Heart, which is a cute character, and she did help Twilight and Shining Armor's story many times, and if she not protected Crystal Empire, Sombra will take it over, you should put EG Flash in this position.
7: I think it's little harsh, and hating on the Apple Family is also a little harsh, Braeburn's singing pose is okay looking.
6: This is the other one I disagree with, it's too easy for hating RD, in fact, I can think some worse Mane 6 members, like Rarity and Pinkie, every Mane 6 did crime as well, if she did not perform the Sonic Rainboom, Villains like Starlight, Discord, etc, all villains will win, she is overrated for a reason.
5: Extra agreed, She is easily the main antagonist in the episode, she deserve that magic from the green slime guy (write in the comments if you know his name), and Discord is the best villain in MLP in my opinion.
4: Three in 1, really, by the way, I hate Zesty out of all 3, they bully Rarity and Applejack for nothing.

I feel like you're just stoking non-existent fires for attention. As a person with Asperger's, ADHD and social anxiety issues... I COULD take slight offence to that generalisation but I won't. The beauty of The Mane Six is that they have flaws that contradict with the elements they have to hopefully create more rounded personalities, sadly they're not always written with to facilitate them well enough. In regards to Crystal Ponies... after all they'd been through I wouldn't want to see them be crabby and stuck up like they are but humble and full of the love they spout. Too bad I don't see that regularly.
The CC Network, unfortunately the mlp script is falling apart a little bit and I think they're running out of ideas, and I definitely hate how they introduced a lot of the ponies in this movie, but think about it. Saying you hate the ponies is saying that you hate the voice actors. They're purple ponie princess for god's sake. I think you should have been more specific and rather say you hate the character, you should say you hate the character's attributes written in the show. That would've been better and saved you a lot of BS. Also, the reason why I found those things offensive is because I come from a long line of family and outside trauma. I have sever anxiety and depression and I have to have a service dog go everywhere with me. I don't mind anyone saying their opinions, we have the right to say whatever we believe, I think people should just choose their words more carefully.

King Sombra is the best villain and he is the villain with the most emotional back story. Plus he wasn't suppose to be like the others he was suppose to be more like Sauron, Arthas, Zarkon, Darseid, or Dormammu and he achieved it quite well.
Also Trixe should have been on the list.
I factored in only the show's representation of the characters when I made this list. The Season 9 premiere saved some face for Sombra but wouldn't remove him from this list entirely I were to remake it. I like Trixie... but even I got sick of her by the end of the show, she probably wouldn't end up on this list anyway.

Thanks for points 1 & 2, I put them on there for the reasons stated and my opinion about Silver Spoon and Suri are indifferent and I LOVE Sci Twi, so she wouldn't be on this list IMO.
Suri also appeared once. Not twice, like the Number 4 characters and she is a villain.
I hate Sci-Twi cause she does not spread friendship and she is so coupled to that terrible Flash.
Unlike the hate sinks I noted, Suri's comeuppance wasn't humiliating enough for me to consider her for that category. Sure, Rarity beat her with new designs, but the conclusion of the episode and its moral weren't intertwined with her defeat. As a result, her inclusion wasn't warranted.

You all can hate me, but I am not a fan of Fluttershy. Sure, she's cute and her character develops well. But OH MY GOD she is such a doormat. Seriously. We see a few episodes where she stands up for herself and others. Other than that, she's just a quiet pushover.
I’m not a fan of Fluttershy either. When somepony like rainbow dash or Gilda or somebody makes her cry, they get mad at them, but when fluttershy make them cry she gets away with it.

You state this like you didn't listen to what I said in the video, it's my opinion, she's on here because I chose her to be for the reasons I stated. Not just that, it would help if you defined the usage of 'realistic' in relation to Rainbow, just stating it doesn't hold your argument well at all.
The CC Network I know what you said in the video. But this is serious. She is one of the main characters and many people love her. It's just mine and a lot of other people's opinions.
About rainbow dash personally she's not my least favorite but she's also not my favorite I can't completely disagree with a lot of your critiques but I do have some things to say about them one of the biggest things I've heard is her "selfishness" mostly being pointed out because she's the elements of loyalty I think this is one of the reasons why rarity gets a lot of hate as well because both of their personalities strongly conflicts with their element rarity is the element of generosity but is very greedy at times while rainbow dash extremely confidence and self-absorbed even though she's the element of loyalty but one of the biggest differences about rainbow dash and rarity is that rarity gets more good episodes not to say rainbow Dash's episodes are bad but she does get the short end of the stick because 90% of rainbow Dash's episodes she's a conflict she causes her own problems a lot like your problems with tree hugger she's the antagonist she's the problem so I'm actually gives off the view that she's the bad guy well I think there could have been more episodes for her to shine well also this is a personal thing rainbow dash gets called out all the time for being "selfish" while I would argue that Twilight is just a selfish but doesn't get called out because she's the main character moving on to another reason rainbow dash gets called out a lot is her overconfidence or cockiness honestly that's because of her parents a lot like with diamond tiara rainbow Dash's parents caused her to act like this in the episode parental guidance it was showing that rainbow Dash's parents constantly told her she is the best half literally everything leaving her to leave the wholeheartedly but putting her in such a pedestal also is where a lot of her insecurities come from as being constantly told you're the best you feel the need to be the best even rainbow dash saying something like that herself in the episode fame and misfortune she's says in the song we're not flawless "my confidence comes off as cocky but it gives me the courage to fail" so anytime she's put in the place of "second best" she's in the mindset of not being able to live up to the expectations of her parents lastly want to talk about her "not being loyal" I strongly disagree about this as to use Twilight as an example again her literal thing is being the princess of friendship while 90% of our conflicts when it comes to the season premieres or finales it's her not trusting or believing in her friends which she does a lot of I'm going to talk about a specific episode with rainbow dash that most people hate rainbow falls most people complain that rainbow dash is completely wrong and should have no trouble choosing between the two things while I very much disagree about this in this episode of rainbow dash not only has the chance to fly with her idols but to fly for her hometown that being the important part the thing is it being loyal to her friends or being loyal her home which I don't think enough people acknowledge that yeah this is her hometown which she feels a lot of pride in so the fact that people expect her to make this decision so quickly they're not thinking about it from her perspective even though she ends up doing the right thing because of seeing them being unloyal to one of their teammates making her take a look from another perspective also to speak about her doing so many "arrestable offenses" yeah almost all of the main seven has done something to put the entire town of ponyville danger in some way at some point ( side note when I say the main seven I'm not talking about the starlight she is not deserve that spot in my opinion )

I was majorly surprised that Zacora, celestia or rarity to not make it on the list and while I agree with snips and snails, diamond tiara, expecally tree hugger I must say rainbow and cadence both seem to continue to grow and bringing others with them providing unique new characters in the show that I personally believe shouldn’t be so high on the list for writing errors

Also rainbow dash can sometimes be sort of mean to scoots e.g in the episode the washouts she was just horrible!Not wanting scoots to develop outside of the rainbow dash fan club then when scoots and her are out side the cmc clubhouse she completely shrugs of everything scootaloo is saying.Oh well...the ending to the episode was really sweet
No, she tried to made her hate the washouts because rd knows it’s dangerous and she doesn’t want scootaloo to get hurt! And rd made a scootaloo fan club after. Rainbow didn’t try to stop her for her fan club, she tried to stop her so she doesn’t get hurt! And she did apologise after.

I disagree with cadence , she doesn’t need to have development, sure she was under used but there are bigger priorities and cadence represents a character that is a normal perfect one who acts as a mentor for the protagonist she isn’t a bad character.For shining he is a wasted opportunity but that is the writers fault for making him an idiot so it honestly bothers me to see idiots like smurf just bashing him just because of who he is again he is not supposed to get an in depth character and I also I don’t think RD is that bad

So you disagree with two of my choices, how does that make it a bad list? If you disagreed with over half I'd understand logically how you'd criticise something then again this is a subjective list, so calling it bad isn't really that terrible. Also, I've never seen your face for comparison, so I don't know whether I need to apply mine to a belt sander to achieve similar results. I say Moon Butt, Sun Butt etc much like I say Shy Animal Horse for Fluttershy or Book Horse for Twi as a little joke and bit of fun. I know some in the fandom call Celestia and Luna Sun & Moon Butt, so what's to stop me from doing similar?

Once you find out in Season 5's Griffonstone episode that all the species acts hostile because of the way society runs in their land, it's an easy way to have SOME sympathy. The Griffons outside Gabby may be irritating but once that socio-political context is added, it makes it hard to truly hate any of them.

Babs: She bullies and straight-up it feels like she's blaming the CMC for her bully problem back in Manehattan.
Sweetie Belle: I just think giving a vain character like Rarity a little sibling isn't necessary and Sisterhooves Social to me feels like making them sisters is a big mistake. And her eyes (green) and mane (pink streak) boggles me their parents don't have that.
Rainbow Dash: She always betrays her friends. C'mon Twilight! Real friends don't betray each other.
Pinkie Pie: She doesn't realize her jokes can be hurtful Luna Eclipse is a good example.

Did you even watch the full episodes? You can't blame her, she said she wanted the book more than anything, she doesn't realize they wanted Fluttershy for the trade. Dashie quicky said the trade was unfair then Fluttershy is back and Rainbow gift her a bird whistle. Dash needs to leave Pinkie and Rarity behind because if she don't then they will lost AJ because Applejack will ran away and never came back to ponyville. Their goal in the first place was chasing Applejack. You can't say she's betraying her friends when she did the right thing

Twilight as her own best friend said Dashie is the most loyal pony in equestria, that means Twilight really knows her well and they don't betray each others. Don't forget Dashie saved her friends' lives MANY MANY times and she even gave up on her dreams 2 times because she standing up for her friends. Just because of a small mistakes doesn't mean she betrays them.

I hate Rarity the most, who gives a care if she is suppose to be pretty or what ever. She is so selfish and vain, she doesn't fit her element at all! She fits the title of stereotypical teenage girl. I think I would be more okay with it if she had social media or something and was more obsessed with gaining followers and stuff like that. But srsly, does every girl have to be a fashionista? She herself fits into the snobby canter lot ponies. She cut off her tail once for a sea serpent and now she is generous? What?!? She only helped him because she thought he was ugly! How rude!
Rarity, much like Pinkie can either be as good or as bad a character depending on who is writing them. She can be a right queen bitch, or a level headed yet entitled and egotistical person (it comes with the territory much as hyperactivity comes with Ponka). Her personality has softened over the series run, as those morals she has to follow keep piling up which is great. The contrast between the selfishness and that element are what makes her such a deep one, while she does show that generosity as the song states, he has immense flaws that he's had to work hard to try and mend over the last seven seasons. Sure, some episodes with Rarity as the lead character in the story CAN be quite infuriating, but I like the fact I've watched her gradually change over time and become less egotistical over that period... sure she can still dole it out on occasion but compare the Rarity of now to the Rarity of Seasons 1 & 2, and to me there IS a difference in how she's portrayed.

Well done you've angered the entire MLP community. You dissed some of the best characters for no reason. I agree with only a few of the things you say. The Crystal Empire did nothing wrong and they're a lovely community, they were depressed and had ptsd after being slaves for over 1000 years. Cadence plays an important role because she rules a kingdom and fixes broken relationships. Snips and snails are supposed to be like annoying little boys and they are lackeys because they just want to be liked like all little boys in life.
