    “Off brand Seiko movement”
    The Seiko NH35A is literally a Seiko movement dog. Also if anything it’s a “homage watch” if you don’t wanna consider it invictas own watch.

      So it 100% is not Invictas own watch. It's is clearly designed to resemble an older gen submariner. Same size, shape, same dial, indices and hands. Then there's the movement. Which is not a Seiko, it is produced by Seiko yes but it is labeled as an nh movement and is not covered by any Seiko warranty or customer service. I used the term knockoff and homage interchangeabley and have several watches designed to resemble much more expensive ones. I'm not insulting anyone, I'm simply stating the obvious about the watch.

    I have a c2008 Invicta diver, Miyota movement. It's so old I'm not sure when I bought it. I've done every normal thing with it without regard to shock or force - gardening, golfing, swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding... whatever.
    Last year I ran it through my washing machine (along with some Casio's) to make sure it was still reliable for a beach trip. Short cycle, cold water, but still... No problem.
    Never serviced, it keeps about 15 secs / per day. Tank.

    My Invicta pro diver did extremely well I beat on it for over a year working on injection molding machines it got soaked in hydraulic fluid and grease. I did replace the bracelet with a nato strap because it was garbage the one thing that killed it was dropping it about 8 foot off the ground on a rough unfinished concrete floor. It broke the crystal and the hour hand came loose but it still runs. Well worth the money.

    I wonder if the results of the final test would have been different had the case back been stainless steel. I think exhibition case backs are cool but never on a dive watch. All serious dive watches have solid case backs because the crystal on an exhibition is not as resistant to pressure as a solid case back. Look at any PADI or ISO dive watch and you’ll never find an exhibition case back. This is another example of Invicta sacrificing functionality and practicality for “style.”

      I have an oris that is 300 m waterproof/water resistant that has an exhibition case back. They are fantastic but that is definitely the weak point is possible cracking due to a drop. And when it does actually break, you automatically have to serve us to watch due to the shards being in the movement.

    I would have rather seen you drop it on cement from a height of 6 feet and gently thrown it against a stucco wall, than seeing you throw it in a soft blanket of snow. Really didn't prove anything about the watches toughness. Even driving over it with a glass back. NO see thru glass back would survive a truck running over it. Truly not a toughness test IMO.

    • @GuardianMT
      @GuardianMT  Рік тому +1

      I thought it was a funny test. I do disagree on one point, even a solid case back would have failed. If the glass has any dome or arch to it it will fail an external physical pressure test. The glass whether mineral, sapphire or otherwise just isn't built for 5700lbs of flat pressure.

    I have had a pro diver for 2 years. I dive surf and have never had any issues with this watch. And yes I've had a Rolex submariner since 1989.Is it comparable to my sub yes.It doesn't say Rolex but it has been a great watch when I want to wear a beater.With the Seiko movement it's within 2 seconds of my Rolex a day which is better accuracy than my old Rolex air guide. That was the craziest review I've ever seen about that watch. But up to the point of it being run over by his truck the watch it was still keeping good time. Hey man try a casio g shock run it over with your truck that would cool

    I don't even want to scratch my invictas. And this watch took being run over twice and still looked basically the same.
    A hydromax invicta is beefier, the thickest watch they make by far. Try that.

    You need to do a side by side test Invicta/Rolex. So mediocre video.

      Send your Rolex to me and I'll happily run it over with my truck 👍
