It's easy if you use focus mode. I have my personal profile set to family only and it automatically switches on for the weekend from Friday to Sunday so I don't get disturbed or switch it on whenever I need it. Ironically, I have now switched from the Garmin Fenix 7 to the Apple Watch ultra because of the utility value it offers for the same money. Battery life is not an issue for me due to the convenient charging method where it is not a problem even in the dark.
Indeed, all reasons are nonsense... Just setup your AW as you like it and that's it.... I guess he still want to receive apps notifications when he wears his AW !
The big difference between Apple and Garmin is simple, one is a true "smart watch" with some cool fitness and health features, and the other is a true "fitness" watch with some cool "smart" features. If you're like me and need a sports and fitness watch first, and use your smart phone for the rest, then you'll love Garmin. However, Apple has been closing the gap every year and I believe they'll become the king of both smart watch users and sports/fitness users soon.
I think ur confused.. I’ve been using Apple Watch for years and Apple Watch is the one buggy and laggy all the time with too many apps running behind the background.. not to mention the terrible battery life.. after one year, the aw battery Life is even worse and need to get the battery replaced…I’ve change to a Garmin tactix oled and now I only need to charge once a month… no way going back to apple even though I like apple ecosystem.. one day battery life and constant daily charging really spoil the experience…
@@Jack-jy7zi i think u are crazy, show me any video were apple watch is laggy, I can show you plenty of laggy garmin videos, battery battery, 15min to chanrge and it is ggod to go for all day, garmin is just good design

After purchasing the AW10, I’m also considering switching to the Garmin Fenix 8. In my region, the AW doesn’t support many of the features it offers, such as ECG, map directions, and several others. Before purchasing, I thought apps like WhatsApp and MS Teams would notify calls on the Apple Watch, but they don’t. My main concern is that maps and directions aren’t working, as I use them frequently. Another factor is ruggedness. Before this, I used the Amazfit T-Rex and accidentally hit it against many hard surfaces, but it kept working fine. In comparison, the AW requires careful handling, almost like caring for a baby. That’s why I’m considering switching to Garmin.
Your considerations are correct, I have the GF8 51 & it’s perfect for athletics, GPS and maps are great, HR is recording all the time, important for some of us with the occasional AFIB. The Garmin eco is good too, but I also autoload to Strava.
I tried to give apple a chance so many times but damn Garmin just brings me back again and again.. so functional and practical. it gives you exactly what you need in life. no Joke.
Same I just returned by AWU 2 again 😂. One thing I love on Garmin is I can use actually watch bands. There are thousands of NATO straps that are awesome :)
Put Apple Watch in Airplane mode. Keeps battery from draining and you don’t have to change any notifications. You won’t be distracted. When you want a notification or call again just tap the side button and tap on the airplane mode. If you do this for the Ultra 2 you’ll get 3 day battery life. If you have the 10 it will be charge up for 8 hours (maybe 12 hours on airplane mode) for a 15 minute charge. Pause the rings solves problem 2. If you don’t care about rings then why does it matter? If Garmin had rings you would drop it? Apple has a better heart rate sensor and don’t really need heart rate strap. More detection of bands too. You get cellular and Garmin doesn’t. Apple has more accurate sleep tracking with sleep apnea. You get ecg and it checks in the background and Garmin doesn’t. No car crash detection or fall detection unless it’s only certain workouts. Your Ultra has an emergency siren which is nice if you go hiking.
Sorry one more thing. You don’t have to change the rings daily just one time. You can change it to 15 minutes and knock it out it’s just a 15 minute walk. I put my Apple Watch on Mixed Cardio when I mow the yard and close my rings. lol
Garmin is the easy decision. does it all. has huge battery life, great watch faces, weather, gps, etc goes on forever.. and it feels like a solid military grade watch. also comes in Amoled. Recommend Fenix 8. and garmin has its own text messaging. But I love how Garmin is more about the peoples needs rather than what apple thinks people need.
First I've got an Apple Watch 10 for smart functions and even sport activities. Then I move to the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Finally I've switched from AWU2 to Garmin Fenix 8 47 mm AMOLED. There absolutely is an easy way to set up notifications, it's really not that hard. No offense this sounds like a user issue not an issue with the watch. The fitness rings complaint...are you SERIOUS??? Damn that's really lame, especially since you can turn them off!
Apple better for sleep tracking ? As a user who is embedded neck-deep in the apple eco-system, and having both an AWU2 and the Fenix-7-Pro, I say you don't have a clue what you are talking about. The Garmin sleep tracking is a huge step up over the Apple version.

You’ll find yourself going back and forth between Apple and Garmin, especially on higher end devices. Both companies are at a nexus. Garmin trying to add more smartwatch features, and Apple taking tracking and health more seriously.
My issue is, I never get notifications. Or I miss them. I wish Apple added 1 simple setting to notify on ALL devices. If I am typing on imessage on my mac and walk away, I miss imessage alerts since apple thinks I am on my mac.
So you want Apple to turn on your mac camera all the time to know if you are there or not? If you are not as stupid as you sound you would have use hot corners to activate screensaver and then you will get the notifications you are so desperate to get, it’s not rocket science boy.
I am just being nosy as to your "ticker-tape" info in the back ground and where you are pulling your number of rides, distance and elevation from and what you are using to share it :-) Thanks from a Garmin from Polar user...

This video sounds like a big winning about how much many features and customization you get on Apple Watch, just say you want a much simpler al device, like you can probably make the Apple Watch as dumb as the garming you just don’t want to, also the video feels like a very very hard attempt to validate your choosing of the garming. That first reason is kinda strange. Instead of setting it up once you jump to a different watch? It cannot be THIS time consuming to do it once.
Right? I just went into my Apple watch settings and it takes maybe MAX 2 minutes to toggle off the apps you don't want notifications from?
