- Drivers like Sergio Octavio park along Siempre Viva Drive outside of Otay Mesa's Cross Border Xpress because it's a convenient spot. However, when he returned to his car, he found he was issued a ticket and fined $60. Octavio is one of dozens who park along this unmarked road - and there's no signs telling drivers they aren't allowed to park there.
“I don't see a red spot or some kind of sign that says you can’t park here,” said Sergio Octavio, who is one of dozens that parked next to the unmarked pavement along Siempre Viva Drive.

So parking legally next to an unmarked curb with no signs is unsafe?
People have been parking there for years. CBX must have complained because the are losing $$$.
Deceit as only a city could do it. Drivers are encouraged to "avoid parking in unmarked areas where they may be cited." That's doublespeak for covering your ass. Drivers don't know what the city is doing and, apparently, neither does the city. City council: Oh, hell, just write 'em a $60 parking ticket and let the innocent pay for our stupidity and laziness.
So now you can’t park if there’s not a no parking sign? If not a No parking sign then it’s OK to park there. Do you know just like U-turns? You can make a U-turn anywhere except where there’s a sign saying you can’t.
Anyone who sues the city is going to have a nice big fat lawsuit check!
Guess who pays that fine if they're lucky enough to win? You and me as tax payers.
Within 72 hours, Mark the front of the ticket in red ink at a 45 degree angle, RESCISSION. Then hand it to the court clerk at the address on the ticket. Contract voided before it even goes into the court system.

It's much cheaper just to drive into TJ and park at the airport on the Mexican side than to park on the San Diego side parking lots.

This is terrible coverage. Is it legal for these people to be ticketed or not? If it's not legal you should be putting pressure on the city to stop ticketing until they mark the spots or post signage.
Street parking should be illegal everywhere.
