Installing your IKEA BESTÅ TV stands and Cabinets can be done safely and properly without using or buying the IKEA BESTÅ railings which is quite expensive and does not offer enough strength to handle a lot of weight and load on cabinets.
Watch this video as I will show you how to mount your IKEA cabinets safely and flush mount to the wall. - Навчання та стиль
Thank you for Posting this! I have been searching for a way to make these BESTA Cabinets more secured and this is by far the best(a) and easiest way I've seen.
Yes in a sense that the wood strapping 1x3 wood are also secured on the studs. Then I use L brackets inside the cabinets; smaller ones inside the top part of the cabinets. They get screwed on the wood strapping. It's versatile because you can get different sizes of L brackets. I painted them black. I also use smaller ones at the bottom where I can hit the studs. I only use wood strapping on top part of the cabinets. No need for the bottom part of the cabinet since the L brackets can get screwed on the studs and be able to support the cabinets.
@@ProductsForMen Excellent. Thanks for the tips!
Thank you for this! Super helpful.
Glad I can help
@@ProductsForMen Thanks again, I just finished setting up a 3+2 (15" tall) using your method and it's turned out really really good and feels solid. The only thing I have not added is the corner braces on the outside corners, but otherwise your guide was perfect! Now, I am pretty confident of putting my receiver and bookshelf speakers on top of it.
I'm glad I could help. Enjoy.... lol put some led lights underneath and it will shine :)
@@ProductsForMen Haha.. you read my mind! I also intend to add a wood slat panel on one side.
Hi, I saw your instal and it looks great. I was wondering if the dimensions of the wood strapping allow the cabinet to be flush against the wall or would you need to plane it down. Also would the corner brackets on the bottom not push the unit away from the wall slightly?
The thickness of the wood strapping is just perfect that the cabinets are flushed to the wall. The corner brackets doesn't affect it being flushed mounted to the wall.
Can I use EZ-Anchor Heavy dutty 'Toggle bolt' wall anchors instead of the wooden bracket strips ?
I tried that but this method I find the best works
Question, how many wood strips do I need and how many corner brackets do I need for a Best tv bench with 3 cabinets? It's not as big as yours.
I would add three brackets at the bottom of each besta cabinet, us the 4 or 5 inches. Then use 2 small brackets on both lower sides. Should 1 or 1.5 inch size would work. Lemmw know of that helps
For the three part section, I went with a single wood strip of 69". I was able to hit 4 studs, so used four 4" corner braces at the bottom and then two 2" corner brace per box (total of six 2" corner braces).
due to the size of those brackets on the base, would those actually support weight?
Yup. Those are like 6 inches brackets on each studs and using 3 inch lag screws
How long is the wood behind the individual cabinets not the long one?
Just measure the inside width not including the side part. Meaure sidewall to side wall inside
