He may have thought he could get more oil from Ewing at a lower price. Going forward, showing a good faith effort.

He was having to shut down his refineries and lay off workers because they didn’t have any oil to refine. Also, with Sue Ellen and John Ross having already left, Clayton no longer had to refuse JR to protect her. If Clayton had waited a few more days he may have been able to buy the oil out of foreclosure at a lower price than what he agreed to with Ellie, unless the process would have taken longer.

Miss Ellie was too much. If it were today, Miss Ellie ran Ewing Oil like a Bawse. Also nobody was qualified to run, also Lucy never worked a day at Ewing Oil so she has no credibility. Also Ray knows nothing about The Oil Business.

Vince Mcmahon would make a great JR. Just change the name from Ewing OIl to Titan Towers and nobody would notice the difference.

JR even backed Miss Ellie into a corner. Prime example of when he loses he really won. That music at the end showed that JR is a scary man. Lol

Shouldn't this have been an in camera vote, with JR out of the room? I don't remember: did the family also serve as the board to Ewing Oil? It's very weird that JR also got to vote. Normally, in this situation, he'd not be allowed in the room.

@@volvoguy804 shareholders would normally elect the board, who would then appoint or elect a chairman and president. I can’t remember but I don’t think the Ewings were the only shareholders, were they? Didn’t Digger Barnes have some shares or did he get rid of them early on to Jock?
