Hey Mike, chill. If I close my eyes it's perfect. Guitarist here. It's a song you have to play a thousand times before you can own it. You've got it covered mate
I am sure that Tony is looking down on you and smiling. He may not be here with us in a physical sense, but he is with us in spirit and his music will live on forever.
Wow Mike!! AMAZING,! Thank you, thank you , thank you for the wonderful video . To y is looking down and telling his friends, listen to this guy playing !
First off - this is wonderful. Great job and performance. What resources did you use to learn this? Did you just transcribe yourself? I’ve been scouring the net for resources but can’t find anything. I could go frame by frame through his performances of it but if there’s resources out there I’d prefer those haha
Thanks for the kind words I appreciate it! I did learn this myself, but not exactly as Tony does it. I more mapped out the ideas he uses mentally and did my own variations on it. Some of the ideas came from many different performances as well. There are a lot of triad inversions he uses to harmonize the melody and a few particular tricks. I do online guitar classes so if you wanted to book one I'd love to help you out with it.
Hi! Yes it is in drop D, though to be honest the low D string doesn't get used much. The majority of this is using small chord shapes on the top three strings with the open 4th and 5th strings as the bass/pedal tones. When I am using the low D it is mainly to enhanced the open D chord when it comes home at the end, and maybe as part of a few licks. Worth listening to Tony's version and specifically listening for that low D, it comes up a lot less than you'd think!
Sorry for the video quality, my camera's autofocus screwed up for this take and only this take. New year's resolution, figure out this camera!
Prove it!

Well said! We should celebrate his accomplishments even if he is no longer with us.
Great playing bro
You did my Dad's 1st Cousin proud. I was fortunate enough to be named after him but not to play as well as him. Well played.
Thanks so much!

Hello. Are you playing i drop d? if so, is it different chords in drop d than standard tuning?
