    I want to thank you guys for making a product that is usable for people without cars that still is safe to use all year round! The price is a bit steep but I look forward to buying one of them!

    Built something similar 4 years ago. Only using 3 section's from fibre glass. My son keeps it in a cupboard in the house. Looks like a good product you have developed

    Referring to 10:26 in the video. Please note for the 142, the strap for folding the bag is shorter. You must use the webbing loops on the side of the bag.
    I am 5'4". I have no issues with connecting the clamps. Nice kayak. I love it!

    This thing is next step of kayak evolution, hopefully these things will come all around the world. The only negative thing is cost right now.

    Just received mine!!!!
    Amazing product.
    One word of caution:
    It's HEAVY. They make it look like it's very manageable and easy to lift. It's not. At 55 lbs it doesn't seem so bad, but it's a lot of mass.
    Otherwise, I'm totally stoked about this thing, can't wait to be in the water!!!
    p.s. needs a detachable fin/skeg

    Damned innovative design. Simple as hell. Given how inflatable kayaks are going for ridiculous sums of over $500 I don’t consider the price point on this too bad by comparison. Still would like it in the low $1ks, however

    • @Dman9fp
      @Dman9fp 2 роки тому

      Still amazing overall, very worth it imo but I'm likely into rivers and waterways in general arguably too much lmao... Especially putting it back in the bag is surprisingly Incredibly Simple, just put it back in order of smallest to largest. Whoever designed this was very smart

    I like the explanation of the video, well done and nicely put together. The problem i have with this kayak is the amount of labor involved is the reason why i went with other products. It seems the system is too much of a labor point when throwing a simple normal kayak on the roof would seem almoat better even with thw added hassles of extra equipment and storage needed.

    • @samjam6989
      @samjam6989 2 роки тому +3

      putting a kayak on the roof takes a longer time then assemnling this, not to mention it takes lots of space in the garage and its heavier and need 2 people to carry. This thing fits into the back of a civic inside a bag.

    • @samjam6989
      @samjam6989 2 роки тому

      I seen people put their kayak on the roof, had to tieboth ends, and find the 2 harnesses to secure the middle

    can you do a video on where you store your dry back, water and other necessities. I am a short woman with a compact SUV where is it is impossible for me to load a kayak and my Buick SUV is not compatible with most assist lifts or a trailer. So this sounds like it might be an option. One last question... since I have short arms, will I be able to even reach the top section clips... What is the distance from the opening to the clips?

    • @PakayakKayak
      @PakayakKayak  4 роки тому

      Thanks for your interest! Although we don't have a video on where you can stash things, most items fit in the fore or aft watertight hatches or they can be lashed to the top of the kayak under the bungees. If you can't reach the latches as a tower, you can latch 1 to 2 and 6 to 5 before you stack them onto 3 and 4. Or, you can lay them on the ground and latch them. The distance from hatch opening to clamps is only a few inches.

      Guaranteed not to leak! We use a tongue and groove type of connection with a silicone gasket in the groove.

    They used to give a free towel when you ordered a pakayak but Doug decided to stop that. I guess he's really desperate for us to pay 16 dollars per towel after spending almost 2 grand on a boat.
    I would suggest getting a towel from Amazon.

    • @Dman9fp
      @Dman9fp 2 роки тому +2

      I just got mine yesterday, yeah I doubt the clamps will last forever in saltwater, but I trust it much more than any inflatables or oragami kayaks in coastal waters for sure. Kayaking in backwaters & especially pristine quiet lakes is one thing... Get what you pay for I suppose, not all kayaks are best value on every condition

      Do they even make a 14', sit inside sea kayak? I doubt their 9.5' sit inside modular comes anywhere this in performance.
