New Jurassic Park Movie Official Plot Details Teased?

- A new Variety article has teased some details about the next Jurassic World movie. People stuck on an island makes fans wonder if it's Nublar or Sorna. I'm not so sure we can guess just yet but I think this will be a different film. Dinosaurs outside of the park and all over the world is where Dominion left off but could this be a prequel?

As long as the characters are likeable and relevant to the plot and deaths by Dinosaurs like classic JP, we should be good.

That's my favorite from any of the movies too. The Birdseye view of the hunters walking single file and then the trails of raptors moving in on them was so tense.

Jurassic Park has always had moments of humor, but if it makes you feel any better, none of Gareth Edwards films are like that including his Star Wars movie. He usually brings a serious tone to everything he does.
I want these main characters to feel like they are in danger like how poor Eddie died in the lost world, he was a such a good character but he died and that’s what I like, I feel that all characters good or bad should be in danger and possibly die which is what the later films missed

I feel like if this is going to be a continuity of dominion, hunting these animals may become a special type of profession: legal or not.
I don’t think the dinosaurs would often be around people- meaning no in city animals-
But in small towns/ farming communities or villages, they might become a problem.
As we’ve seen, the DPA likely would make it illegal to hunt these animals and some places may be labeled as “too dangerous/unimportant” to bother with, leading to people hunting them off the books
So we may be looking at one of these occurrences.
Problem: The amount of ecological devestation they would cause would force governments to wipe out the dinosaurs anyway...But Universal doesn't have the balls for that.

Imagine what was once a resort town now turned into a fortification in the middle of the woods all because the DPA didn't see their location as important to protect, leaving both man and beast to fend for themselves. What results is a bloody gridlock between a pack of ultra-aggressive raptors and whatever remains of the resort town inhabitants.

i think the water tanks will be used for an underwater scene with aquatic creatures like pleasiosaurus, ichthyosaurus or some other aquatic prehistoric animals and the part about an island may be someone misspeaking
What else are they gonna use underwater, they can nuclear sub though so you can automatically kill all the species through the radiation and sell the skin on the black market
Could be a return to isla sorna as a prehistoric poacher's dream turned nightmare. As tacky as it would be, I'd love to see a battle between the raptor tribes.

I just want a horror JP film.. almost ‘Alien’ vibes… like what the game is making out to be. I want it dark. Kinda like what ‘Alien Romulus’ is doing with that franchise
70% sure it’ll be about illegal dinosaur hunting on an island. No trapping but killing for sport, except to see lots of hunting rifles/ ar’s for security. The protagonists will somehow stop the hunters.

Through all the jack horner bullshit and the lack of depth of jp3 unlike the first film, it is visually stunning, and the composition style of don davis is INDISTINGUISHABLE from john williams. The creatures are beautiful, the set is beautiful. Its a solid movie because above all else, it FEELS jurassic PARK. Its a good sequel because of this. None of the world films have these qualities. They are hot trash.

Likely Site B. There is so much to uncover from there. Despite some Dino's taken off there, they had to have left few things. Plus, likely that's where the very first original hybrid was made. In the Spinosaurus.
I'm hoping for Isla Sorna. That island was and will always be my favorite island because of how much lore and interesting little secrets are included, canon or not.

Could just be a typo or maybe it's a signal to the audience that this new movie isn't continuing the World saga anymore.

I’m with ya, I do hope they drop the “World” handle just because the last two films have left a bad taste in my mouth as fan. Still, even if they keep “World” I do appreciate the fact that Koepp is writing and Edwards (one of my favorite directors working right now) is directing. Those two things give me a lot of optimism that maybe Universal is taking the criticism and pivoting a bit. Time will tell.
Hey Klayton, did you see the new IMDB production still of the original Jurassic Park gates currently being constructed in against the original Kauai backdrop all the way back in 1993 for the new movie. Looks freaking awesome 👍
I highly doubt they'll go this route, but I think it would be so cool if they tied Camp Cretaceous and Chaos Theory into this movie. Like, have three of the "campers" as the focus. Maybe Darius, Ben, and Brooklyn??

I think the “hunt” post is a clue because she has since edited it to say “meet” instead.
On the off chance it is set on Sorna sometime after 1997 but before 2001 I'd love to see the characters be like "Isn't this the place that that Malcolm guy was on about on tv?" Or to go to the Research Lab seen in JP 3 would be so cool.
I love the idea that maybe Sorna, too, had a lagoon area, and InGen secretly bred Plesiosaurus's for a Jurassic Park Loch Ness exhibit, or the they go to the bird cage and one gets killed to explain the reason for the skull Eric threw in JP3.
All in all, I just hope it's a good film that will pair well with Jurassic Park Survivor and maybe JWE 3.
Would be awesome if it was more darker,sacrier,with some slight horror tone in it, be great to visit sorna again. As the dinosaurs have been released over the world after JWD,most of the public might presume sorna is now uninhibited by dinosaurs, and these 3 adults & 3 kids,go and explore sorna and the secrets it holds within, learning how it all started,they return to their landing area only to find the remains of the crew/team, they must find a way to call for help and find away off the sorna,whilst being stalked by tiger stripes! They could even stumble over the old hunters camp or even the high hide from TLWJP! Thats just my thought though
I think it would be awesome to bring back Isla Sorna. It’s about due time to bring it back so I am definitely getting those vibes on that article. This is a stretch too but could they possibly bring back and show the Spinosaurus? Hopefully
I agree with what some others have been saying: My first thought was, sure, hunters could just hunt the dinosaurs on the mainland or wherever, but my guess would be that they are considered a "protected species"? Maybe? So if that's the case, it would make sense to me then for hunters to be like "Well we gotta get away from all these rules and regulations" and then go (sneak?) to one of the islands. Honestly I could imagine a hunter character who's like all obsessed with it, like he steps onto the island and is taking a deep breath of the air and like "See?! This is a REAL hunting ground!" like obsessed with hunting the dinosaurs in one of their "natural habitats" or something.
Either way, I am intrigued... but as always the one thing that makes me nervous is the presence of children. Honestly for me personally, Spielberg has been one of the only directors in the franchise who directed kids WELL in a way where he let them be kids but also didn't DUMB DOWN the horror and terror happening around them. I remember absolutely rolling my eyes seeing JP3 as a teen in the theater when we find Eric, a literal child, has somehow managed to not just survive but has become like this dino expert where he can sniff the earth and be like "Yeah a T-Rex came through here about 7 days ago" (yes, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but). I just don't really care for it when they try to make it more "kid-empowering" because that often means making it more "kid-friendly." Like, sure, I'm all for kid-empowerment and the kid characters actually doing heroic stuff, but like... I think it's more realistic to do it in a way where they're like scared shitless while they're doing the heroic thing. Say what you will about Kelly's gymnastic scene... at least after she kicks the raptor and lands on the ground she LOOKS like she just crapped herself and is like "What tf did I just do" instead of like landing with a hand on her hip waving her finger like "Oh no you don't, Mister Raptor!" (for what it's worth, it's not even just the kids, it's when they do it with the adult characters to... Hell, even Muldoon - despite being in HIS ZONE - was very visibly terrified on some level).
I'm gonna stop talking now because I'm just going on and on. But yeah... Intrigued, cautiously optimistic...
Due to the various dinosaur toys I had as a kid and comparing them d to the JP toys, I had the idea of Site D. D for Design, Development, and Defects. It is where they let not so good outcome dinosaur attempts roam so that can observe what works and what doesn't and fine tune from there. Some very strange monsterish dino's can be on that island. Including the Chaos Theory line too. One story could be some industrial spies trying to steal stuff right after the first JP fell, but the place was wiped except for the now loose creations. After Jurassic World, who knows who took over..
What if we see site C? that could be cool to see

David Koepp was the reason I am still in love with the original JP so I hope he brings some new (old) life into this leg of the series.
Honestly, a return to the island makes me worried. It seems like an attempt to return to form, especially with Koepp on board. However, all 6 movies and Camp Cretaceous focus almost solely on dinosaurs and people trapped in an isolated location. After Dominion, I don't have a ton of faith in them. Chaos Theory was better than I expected, but none of these projects have felt like Jurassic Park. They need desperately to return to horror and suspense. I'm really tired of watching stories about friendly dino bros and no tension or stakes.
Or the island could be like the one in Chaos Theory where Yaz was working, a dinosaur free Sanctuary. I have to go back and watch for sure, but I think Yaz did say there was a market for those types of places and that there could be more than one. That's the only way I can think of the "Jurassic City" title rumors and trappednon the island plot lining up.
I think that producers must think Isla Sorna is considered too ‘confusing’ for audiences and don’t want to include it in future films. Isla Nublar is over and done with unless they reboot it. A new island makes sense, one that perhaps have animals naturally invaded the ecosystem. I’m still holding out for an abandoned city/town setting, so I’m hoping for it to be that.
Malta itself is an island nation, that could be what was meant. If they're hunting dinosaurs, it's either because people are tired of having to worry about them in the wild (understandable) or because there has been some kind of complication such as a disease or new generation of them (one with pathogenesis or is more outwardly aggressive towards humans) that would disrupt the ecosystem further. It's also possible that Malta itself has become a no-go zone, I remember a while back someone talked about Jurassic World and where it'd go, mentioning that there would be places that people don't go anymore, Malta could be one of these places, with large parts of the country having been evacuated. It's possible that some people either refused to leave or weren't able to be evacuated, which would explain the kids being left there. Most logical conclusion from my point of view, scientists go there to study what is happening with the dinosaurs (probably pathogenesis leading to overpopulation), someone could have made a new batch of dinosaurs or genetically modified existing ones for research or for profit. Something goes wrong, they meet these kids and try to escape. A prequel about the Sorna evacuation would make a great movie, but it'd also make a great DLC for Jurassic Park: Survival. Still, both are possible.
I don't think this is it, but I remember a while back, someone mentioning that the new movie would have an "Escape From New York" type vibe, and so that got me thinking for a split second, if "The Island " they are referring to, could be Manhattan? As much as I'd love to see Sorna Action, or Site C, or one of the other of the Five Deaths introduced in Jurassic 7, could it be that simple?
Either way, I'm just happy that they seem to be turning down the scale of the story again, making it a more intimate and contained plot and environment, because in my opinion those are the best settings for these movies. Makes it easier to feel the intensity and horror that the animals should be bringing.
Hunting dinosaurs doesn´t have to mean that they are going to hunt them just for the sake of hunting them. Maybe they are trapped there and they have no other option than to hunt them to survive.
...or maybe they have to hunt them alive for some project.
As for the water tanks...That´s Universal filming the NAMOR solo movie.
Honestly I got an idea for a dinosaur hunting movie that would have trophy hunters, but the mc is just a hunter who won a raffle to hunt dinosaur on a special island. He views it not just as a once in a lifetime opportunity but as a means to set himself and his family up with meat that would save the family and other 1000s of dollars.
What about if they control raptors like put brain chips I think thay would be so cool. Cos then you don't have an animal. You have a death machine with complete control. Good for the US military

I dont think it will be Sorna because in Dominion is shows the two parent rexes from Lost World. In Jurassic World, its been assumed Sorna was pillaged to use the dinosaurs in Jurassic World to save on costs. That part is just a theory though, but I believe it. It COULD be a prequel if its on Sorna again.
The other news about Jurassic World 4 (whatever it's titled), is that it already has begun filming in Thailand. Not surprising since Thailand was a main shooting locale for Gareth Edwards' last movie, "The Creator".
I'd love for a Tarzan-esque movie set in the JP franchise, to be honest. Surviving on the island with stone age tech, like the beginning stages of ARK survival evolved 😂

Honestly I think the movies should be exactly after Jurassic park and goes over how Ingen dealt with the dinosaurs or it would be nice if it was Sorna where we see the workers village go into chaos

I think we all haven’t thought enough on how they could potentially pull in the story of camp Cretaceous. I know it’s pre dominion atm but … we can’t rule out information from it being relevant to the next movie
Site B makes sense, "the Island" is capitalized so its a significant island in the franchise and the park island was devastated, wasn't site B still an ecological preserve? Yes you can hunt dino's out in the normal world, but there is till only 1 place where they are truelly in control
The "dino hunting" could be less like TLW:JP/FK and more like Camp Cretaceous Season 2´s Mitch and Tiff. It could explain why it´s just six people lost on the clearly dangerous island instead of a large team. CC S2´s villains are pre-volcano, sure, but it sets a precedent of people hunting these animals for recreational purposes, unlike TLW:JP and FK´s mercenaries, who did it mostly to wrangle them back to the mainland and get paid for their service. (With the big exception of Roland, who wanted to duel a male Tyrannosaurus, and Burke, who was also getting paid but was dedicated to being the "paleo-consultant" of the wrangling team.)
They are sure keeping quiet for this movie! And the release date is for next year . Maybe could be a modern day Jurassic park 3 style movie. They should include Los Cinco Muertes Islands!!

The movie would only be any good scaled way back. Like an isolated family trying to protect their farm or miners in a cave in stuck with strange Dino’s underground, possibly with a large underground lake. Something small and tight and filled with horror and tension.

Wasn’t part of Dodgson’s pitch to go after InGen technology in the books including hunting preserves? “Who wouldn’t pay millions for a Triceratops or snarling T-rex on their wall?” Paraphrasing that part. But someone with a high price tag hunting preserve on Site B, with all of that existing geothermal infrastructure, and hidden in plain sight, would be so much fun. Imagine stumbling upon that and trying to live long enough to get off of it alive.

I for one am thrilled they aren't rolling on with the dinosaurs co-existing. Just chalk it up to they were wrong and overly optimistic at the end of dominion.
Why? That would have evolved the series. Instead of repeating the same thing over and over of people stuck on an island with dinosaurs or reasons.

If they decide to introduce Site C, they could always say it was for Jurassic World’s larger experiment facility. Maybe, the Mosasaur we know exists wasn’t the first one. Site C could contain vastly different species then we’ve come to know in the franchise.

I’m surprised nobody has thought utilize JP San Diego. Maybe have it be a place where captured dinosaurs are held where guest can come see the dinosaurs who’s money would be used to fund operations to capture more dinosaurs.

A cool concept would be that dinos started to die out in biomes they don't belong to, and the dinos that got into the correct biome started to adapt becoming more "scientifically" correct
Is it just me, but. I think the Rex from the first Jurassic looks completely different in Jurassic World. Now, you could say it's because she's older. But for me, it's like they have changed the design of her skull.

As much as I would LOVE another Jurassic Park film, I can't help but refuse. Mostly for the sake of the late author Michael Crichton. His books will still have a special place in my heart!
Not only are the dino attacks so graphic and vicious, but John Hammond is vicious as well! He was not that ''grandkid-loving businessman'' that the late and great Richard Attenborough. Quite the opposite! He was a greedy businessman that would happily sacrifice his grandkids if only to save but ONE dinosaur.

Might just be an island now that we know the dinos are out in the world maybe it’s just a currently unknown place and there’s dinos there so the island has to be evacuated and 6 people are left behind
My concern with this movie is why are we going back to an isolated place? Not to diss on any writers or movie makers, but it feels like they couldn’t figure out how to make a plot work with dinosaurs roaming around the world, in present day, with current animals and coexistence. It’s like how every good horror movie or series lately has to take place in the 70s- 80s due to present day technology and awareness not being a concern for common sense. Instead of giving us something good in the now, and making it work with tech. I’d like JW to work itself and give us the coexistence we were teased at the end of Fallen Kingdom and again at the end of Dominion, with public places and people.
Maybe it was a misprint and they meant Ireland lol. If it was set on nublar it would have to involve the restricted section dinos as nublar doesn't even have Rexy or raptors anymore.
