From what I read that lead was done in 1 take while they were recording drums only. Vito played it and the producer said "holy crap, that's it lead is done!" Of course Vito said no way but that's what u hear on the actual recording. They were just starting laying down drums only and hadn't started with instruments and vocals. Amazing
Would love to see some more of Bratta's solos, dude is a genius.... "Don't give up" and "lights and thunder" have to be my favorites after this masterpiece. Well played buddy, spot on as always !
You're one of the few who get that close to perfectly performing Vito's stuff. Rob Peters III has 3 videos of Vito solos that he covers. I'd say he's 99.9% accurate. There are a bunch of people who can nail a Van Halen song note for note, but you can count on one hand (and still have fingers left over), the number of people who nail Vito Bratta's playing.
The hair and the Adrian Vandenberg guitar suggest this video was shot in 1988. The video quality suggest it was shot in 2010. Either way, this dude nailed an iconic solo.
Strange, a few parts were pretty close, but some were almost unrecognizable. Tough to get just the right phrasing, even if getting most of the right notes.🤘🏻🔥
People talk about the 80s hair metal bands like White Lion having guitarists that were Eddie Van Halen clones, but that's not entirely fair because this solo doesn't really sound like anything Eddie ever played, even with the tapping in it.
Sad that Vito quit the business so early 😢 I heard he had to care for a sick family member 😭 it's very sad as he would have been like the next Van Halen

You did it just the same, bro', you're out of this world!!! Plus, you played a Peavey Vandenberg, you made my day, God bless you, bro'!!!! ❤❤❤😊😊😊
This song always transports me back to the summer of 1987

Awesome cover of an awesome guitarists solo

Yea, now try to find someone who can nail the intro to 'Hot on Your Heels' (Steeler) and that came out 4 years earlier.
That is as close as it can be done. That has to be near perfect, tone, notes, all of it. Awesome job!!
Fantastic! On a Vandenberg too!
Second THAT, my man...and a NICE one, too!

Your hair is incredible
Wow! Make it look easy. And awesome hair.

Great song and a great solo from the hairmetal days.

Peavey Vandi probably the best Metal guitar ever made

Nailed it!
Cerdasnya gitaris white lion
Kok bisa bikin lead keren seperti itu
Genial!
Nice work man !
Vito would be proud.
Nice Peavey Vandenberg. Is that original paint? I don’t think I’ve ever seen that one.
Yup, original paint. Series 2 Vandenberg in 'Laser Red'. I got it for $750 shipped w/ a hard case around 2017.

vito was better than eddie van halen
Good job
Wow man!!!!!!This is on fire!
How did you nail that harmonics I can't do what you do coz i only tap it but you did different
Thanks! I tap the note with my middle finger and then hit the harmonic with my ring finger. Definitely the hardest part!
You remind me of Criss Oliva from Savatage
Nice!
Nice cover. I’m still playing that ending wrong. I’m tapping it instead of what you are doing. I really should practice it without tapping those.
Sad that Vito quit the business so early 😢 I heard he had to care for a sick family member 😭 it's very sad as he would have been like the next Van Halen
