My wife watched this video with me and commented: "shit, we can't even keep shoes on our 2-year-old, let alone a mask". Now, one year later, I understand the terms "terrible twos" and "threenager" better than ever! My kid would never keep a mask on for a cross country flight, nor should any of us be concerned about such a thing. But, because of an arbitrarily written rule, that mandate effectively grounds our family until my eldest child is a bit more mature (which will likely coincide with my youngest coming into that rowdy toddler stage). All of that in spite of the fact that the vaccine has been available to anyone who wants it for months now! A couple of weeks after I wrote the comment you replied to my whole family got COVID. It either came from an occupational exposure I had at work (frontline worker) or from visiting the doctor with the newborn. That was last November, before the vaccine was available. Either way, I got it first, followed by the rest of the family. For me it was a mild common cold. For my wife (who was a mere six weeks postpartum) it was like a case of seasonal influenza. Both of our kids were asymptomatic. This fits with what we've seen nationally: there is a very low risk with COVID in children. As of today, almost two years into the pandemic on 10/29/21, the CDC is officially reporting that a total of 558 persons between 0-17 years of age have died from proven or suspected COVID. I don't want to downplay the effect those deaths have had on the families of those children, but we also have to realize that this is 558 deaths over the span of almost two years, from a population cohort of approximately 75 Million individuals. Simply stated, a child is at a greater risk of drowning in their home's bathtub than they are of dying from COVID-19. This number also isn't substantially different (on an annual basis) than the deaths children experience from seasonal influenza - a bug for which they've never been forced to mask. I've always been one to pay attention to 'the science', but the worship of junk science in the past year or so has hurt our response to COVID-19 on both extremes of the debate.

My daughter doesn’t like wearing masks. She won’t wear them. She wears a face shield & we are able to go to stores with her wearing the shield. We went to a local zoo last week & we were able to get in with her wearing the shield. We went to the same zoo today & they turned us away because my daughter wasn’t wearing a mask. They said her shield was not acceptable. They were nice enough to give us a disposable mask to try, but my daughter was kicking & screaming at the suggestion of wearing the mask. A big inconsistency on the zoo’s part. I asked if there was a change between this week & last week since we were able to go in last week & they said there was no change & that someone should’ve told us last week.

I was in a bus stop earlier this year and there was a boy I think he might have been four years old he would constantly take his mask on and off and he swing it around and use it like a toy that shows to me that kids that young should not be required to wear masks if anyone has a problem with the kid that you're not being really able to keep the mask on because they're going to be a child and play with it then it's their fault and they need to go not parent with the kid

Have you considered a mask with a cop-shaped so the material isn't contacting the mouth and nose? They're probably too big for him, although it can't hurt to try one; and the "typical toddler" behaviour could still pop out at any time, so it might not make any difference.
If you ask a child if he wants to put the mask on, and he says no, Conversation over. Anything more you do to him is just annoying. Just leave him alone for a few minutes and then make him think it was his idea.

That is why I bought a 4 - passenger + luggage $36,000.00 plane. Never had to wait in line, deal with TSA or deal with that crap ever. Plus I can land at airports that are generally a lot closer to where i actually want to go.... Just a suggestion.
