- A Jenkintown, Pennsylvania woman expressed her anger and frustration after Boston Market employees called the police on her 10-year-old son with autism for not wearing a mask on Wednesday afternoon. Colin Newman is non-verbal, has Down syndrome and sensory issues. Nadina Newman said she was picking up dinner for her family at the Boston Market on Old York Road when her car broke down. Given the extreme temperatures, she said she wore a mask inside, her son did not.

Not wearing a mask is a safety issue, it does not matter if you are handicapped. If someone isn't crying wolf, and legitimately can't wear a thin, loose, piece of fabric over their mouth and nose, then there needs to be protocol to help them shop. A place in the store where you can be safely isolated while someone collects your items. But this is not a matter of compassion, it's a matter of science and health. Your disability does not entitle you to endanger others.

The restaurant was 100% in the right. By not wearing a mask he risks spreading the virus. Him being disabled doesn't change that fact. I'm so sick of people using disabilities as an excuse.

They had every right to do that you’re not following requirements and since you don’t have a breathing disability or such other things, you should follow the requirements just don’t take him out if he couldn’t wear a mask I still wear a mask three years later
This is is what your average Eagles fan looks like but aside from that when it comes to masks they can enforce them because the kid is still a public health risk (he could have potentially spread the disease to the workers by him not wearing a mask)
