A guy who lived down the street from me in CA put close to 12 grand in his Yamaha Bolt. He picked up the bike (a 2014) for a grand. Mechanically, it was solid. Engine mods, expensive wheels, better brakes, risers, bars, longer fork tubes, better shocks, a hell of a lot of chrome, modified Sportster gas tank, a custom-made cobra seat, and a knock-out paint job. It all went great until some bug-wit pulled a lefthand turn in front of that guy. He fared well, but the bike was roached. Ride safe.
I just bought this exact same bike for really cheap, I’m a first time rider!! Have not ridden it yet as I have some maintenance to do on it, it’s been sitting for 5 years!!! Looking forward to watch more of your videos! Cheers
Congrats! I would definitely start by changing all the fluids and get that old gas out of there before you try to crank it up. Toss in a new battery and hopefully Honda's reliability kicks in and it fires right up! I'm sure you are gonna love it!
@@LuckyAcesRiding just siphoned the gas out, will be changing all fluids for sure, having a hard time finding a part for the hyper charger that was put on this bike but everything else seems to be as it should! Let’s hope for the best!! Couldn’t pass up the deal I got so I’m not to worried! It’s near mint condition!!! Thanks for responding 😀
You have a lot of courage totalling all that up, lol. I think I'm going to order those mirrors for my 03 Spirit. The round factory mirrors make the bike look like I should have a bell and an orange flag too..
The round ones always looked a little goofy to me and it is amazing how a simply change like that can change the look of the bike! Thanks for commenting!
great video! Having owned a LOT of Hondas and a couple of Suzuki's I know first hand how easy it is to "personalize" a bike............ and I think the only Honda's I didn't change the seats on were a couple of Goldwings. Stock seats on them are pretty comfy. All others got new seats. I've had Mustangs, Ultimate and a European seat for a Honda ST 1300. All are better than the stock seats.
There's other options besides the train horn with separate compressor. Just put one on my girls 750 spirit. we used the Wolo Big bad max. made an l bracket and a small harness to extend the factory wires and it's super loud and compact. Since following you jet tips hers is running great since the intake and custom exhaust. Although we did just order Vance and Hines exhaust for it. I made a 2 into 1 pipe for it out of 2 stock systems and my Harley's old megaphone muffler and it sounds great. But i didn't tuck it close enough to the bike for her and it's close to her leg.
I might have to look into the "Wolo" horns, just for the size. I certainly want something louder! Glad you got her bike running good! Wish I had the fab skills and a welder to do cool stuff like that!
My headlight went out, crashed and dented the fork cover. Couldn't put the new headlight on because of the fork cover.. had an unbelievably difficult time taking the fork covers off. The rubber had practically melted and glued to the forks. I could not remove the forks from the triple clamps. I literally had to beat the forks down and out of the triple clamps while forcibly sliding the fork covers up.. in order to remove them. I don't fucking know why they put the damn things on there. The bike isn't ugly without the fort covers. Aesthetically it's just different. Not ugly, Not prettier, just different...
I didn't realize they had rubber in them until researching it recently. Sounds like a huge pain to be honest. I'm probably just going to leave them on, at least for the foreseeable future anyway.
Oh and I betrayed you, I am selling my '07 Honda Shadow aero. I upgraded to a Honda Valkyrie. At this point I am in love and I think if I find a woman named Honda I will marry her. I don't think I'll ever go Harley

@@johngustason8856 It has been a few years but from what I remember it did the job for what it was. Mainly kept pressure off my chest and I do remember it "bouncing" a little since it only attaches at two points. Long term I was concerned about it vibrating on my headlight.

Geeze, I'm sorry to hear that about the bike but glad he was ok!

Unfortunately it’s easy to spend a lot on a bike…but we always manage to justify the expense. 😆
"Justify" lol! Thanks for the comment!
