Prince Solomon, with his closest man, Ibrahim Pargam Ibrahim receives the bad news in a hunt. His father Yavuz Sultan Selim Khan passed away. Prince Suleyman sets out for Istanbul without waiting. Mihrimah has never been into the old man. It was just hormonal urges and she had no choice while broken hearted. Her absence of love for Rustem is proven when in her mature adulthood later on she was in love again, with a Christian captive, a physician who helped on her skin problem. But instead of held by the palace as a royal physician, he was set free just because Rustem didn't want him around, even made sure he boarded the ship to return homeland abroad.

Well, in a weird way, Suleiman shoud die here and it was his right time, because then Hurrem would be alive to stop the war between the brothers, and she would become valide. Suleiman would not be so lonely and in so much pain and he would not lost all his dignity. Selim would probably still be the new sultan but the Bayezid at least could be alive, and she could be the one who controls Selim and the state, he would be much less drunk because he would be embarassed by his mother
