Hürrem's secret comes in the palace like a bombshell!
Brothers falls out even more since Suleiman supports Selim. The secret room gets revealed because of Fatma's great plot. As Rüstem wrathfully asks for an explanation from Hürrem, Sümbül faces with the bitter truth. Hürrem loses Suleiman's trust. Sparrowhawk spares Nisa's life. Meanwhile, Nurbanu gives birth in Manisa. As Hürrem tries to get right with Suleiman, he makes a big surprise.
Mustafa and Bayezid gets angry because Suleiman supports Selim. While Hürrem gets worried because of Bayezid's commintment to Mustafa, the commitment between two brothers gets stronger since Bayezid asks for help from his brother. However, Rüstem has a new plan for Mustafa.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

This is the result when someone forces the person they want into a relationship against their will. Mihrimah as shown here flat out let Rustem know she didn't want to marry him yet he pushed his way in and forced her to marry him. Of course she's never going to love him with all of the resentment she holds about having him forced on her and then his possessive, controlling behavior. He pushed too hard and it pushed her right away from him. It's ridiculous that he has a shocked Pikachu face that she has finally decided to get rid of him.

Rustem is like Atike with his wife. He know she didn't like him but he do everything to make a wedding with her. And then actes surprisingly or possesive when when he realizes she won't love him. That's the only detail why I put Rustem second in the most evil characters and Ibrahim third in MC. Ibrahim for all his faults has completely left everything and temporarily returned to his native land just for Hatice and for her to be quiet. And he only became engaged to her when Suleiman gave permission to marry and he was sure she loved him back.

Yes Rustem is much smarter, self-made men, much more consistent in his horrible actions because he spent much more horrible than Atike (at the same time not very difficult to exceed in intelligence Atike it is within the reach of the first child who come) . But when it comes to relationships with their husbands/wives they are very similar. Atike manipulated events so that Geverhan never marries Silhatar and doesn't want to hear any objection from the man that she "loves" him and is surprised to find that Silhatar doesn't love her. Rustem manipulates Mihrimah into consummating their marriage by threatening to poison him if they didn't do that and is also surprised that she does not love him (not to mention also that he is very possessive and does not tolerate her cheating on him when he went with Nigar without hesitation, he's as hypocritical as Atike on some points).

Handan and Ayse are more smarter and interesting than Mihrimah,Bayezid,Cihangir and Huricihan combined.
I don't understand why they made Mihrimah, Handan and Ayse so weak, while they had a strong personality irl.
Mihrimah was the only royal sultana who was active in politics,she had a lot of charity,she was the richest sultana,and de facto a Valide to her brother. She supported Bayezid,but later she helped Selim to claim the throne by finnanclly supporting him to pay the Janissaries payment. She is also included in Sultanate of Women.
Handan was the first female co regent of the Ottoman Empire, and she was politically very active,she exiled Safiye,and made her son a sultan.Even after her death, the statesmen and janissaries supported Ahmed,because his mother was Bosnian, and most of the statesmen in the divan were Bosnians too.
Ayse who was Murad's only true love,eventhoug he had a second haseki and other concubines, he always took her with him during his campaigns, which noone sultan had taken his consort to campaign,after Bayezid I.She was similar as Murad, and a strong rival to Kosem.
I understand you. Even if think that Mihrimah is very overated as a historical character ( even if she was the most powerful princess in Ottoman history and had a strong personnality ) because she was "lucky" to be the only daughter of Hurrem and I find unfair that Suleiman didn't punish her while he punished Mahidevran in horrible way ( and the guilt of Mustafa even if he make a lot of mistake was much less serious than that of Bayezid who provoked deaths and a lot of tax). I mean maybe she financed the rebellion of Bayezid and is more guilty in her way than Mustafa. So unfair even though I wouldn't have liked Mihrimah to be executed or condemned to poverty ( but at leats banished her from the palace, what did he said to all the family of soldiers died because of Bayezid rebellion?) . She probably doesn't have long term intelligence , i mean it's very likely that Hurrem,Mihrimah and Rustem were part of the faction to destroy Mustafa (widely understandable for Hurrem and Mihrimah much for less for Rustem but i'll explain in another video). They do this by only pointing out his mistakes to Suleiman and helps to increase his paranoia. What they probably didn't foresee (and yet so predictable) is that Suleiman would be even more suspicious of Bayezid as soon as Mustafa was (I mean Bayezid made bigger mistakes than Mustafa, had the same character than his grandfather without his qualities so how long this strategy was not going to fall on Bayezid if you know what I mean). Anyway Hurrem or not Hurrem Mustafa would have been executed sooner or later. And let's not even talk about the fact that Mihrimah convinced Suleiman to go on a campaign for Dalmatia, it's out of touch with reality for the Ottoman people, intelligent conquests such as that of Selim Yavuz or Tsar Peter can be good for their countries (in the standards of the XV th century I leave nowadays or even from the XVIII th century it is bad imperialism) and excessiveness are very bad for the country also like Louis XIV or Suleiman (that's why poverty increased much more in both cases) and one of the reasons for the decline was surely due to the fact that too many conquests constituted constantly exorbitant and permanent expenses to keep their territories (Mihrimah paid for Dalmatia herself but in the end I don't think she paid for her maintenance constantly).And she make a payement of a lot jannisaries ( but Selim was the first responsible of this even to be fair he was in a very difficult situation and that decline came under his father's last reign )Mihriman was not as clever and impressive as a Turhan who did several feats like restoring the power of the Ottoman Empire, disciplining the Jannisaries while having more tied hands and in a much more difficult situation than Mihrimah (and Selim) even if she has officially transferred all her powers as regent to Koprulu, I find it hard to believe that she has basically renounced power (I'll talk about it in MCK when we see her).
The rest of your commentary agreed. Ayse had the potential to be a good valide and good successor to Kosem ( I consider Kosem impressive until her third regency
very catastrophic due to all the tragedies she faced compared to other Valide but despite everything rest in peace Kosem). Handan is criminally underrated as regent. Mahidevran had the potential of beign an incredible Valide if she had had the chance and the opportunity.
But by smart what did you expected of Bayezid? I think history was able to demonstrate his lack of intelligence ( Mutstafa mistake was more understable which means that we can empathize with his fate but in the case of Bayezid apart from his children or his concubines, I have not a lot of sympathy for him except when he must have seen the stranglers killing his sons, there my heart bled but on the other hand according to Ottoman laws it was to be expected)
P.S: I know that the first to blame for mistakes for the errors that I cited in the case of Mihrimah is above all the men were Sultan, her errors are minimal and I know that at times she was a very good diplomat as with Nurbanu in the case of prisoner releases, etc. ...
@Leo Ikr, I was expecting that Mihrimah in season 4 would be similar as Shah, but they made her worse than Hatice, Gulfem and Fatma.
@Leo Yes Mihrimah in the season 3: ready to fight the most dangerous opponent of her mother : Sah Sultan. After becoming a mother, more understanding that she must protect Mehmed, Selim and Bayezid to the fratricide law. She will be ready to revenger her brother. Become the fire herself.
Season 4 : too busy to kill an random for advert Gracia Mendez to not have adventure with Rustem and gets on the intellectual level of Fatma Sultan( too busy to have adventure and try to destroy her brother by form a concubine the most old plan of the world XD). Disapointment. At least she forms Safiye one of the best antagonist (We hide our disappointment as best we can) ....

Well Hurrem,Mihrimah and Rustem are not responsible for the death of Mustafa,but they alwayas point out Mustafa's mistakes,but hides Bayezid's mistakes. There is also example, that they had send a pasa as spy to Mustafa, but later he betrayed them. Mustafa has made a lot of mistakes,his bigest mistake is his negotiations with the Venetians. But mainly the janissaries and their love and support for him are responsible for his execution. Suleiman was afraid that he could have a similar fate as his grandfather(who was dethroned by Selim I).
I know that Bayezid was not smart at all historicly too,but i mean that in the show he Mehmed, Mihrimah, Mustafa and Cihangir always act like the fratricide law doesn't exist. They also believe naively that Mustafa wouldn't execute them,if he was sultan. It seems only Selim know about this law.
About Turhan. True,she was genius and powerful sultana,irl. She was called "demir"(iron) sultana.
But it seems like people dislike her (not historicly) and want to exclude her from Sultanate of Women, honestly because of the rumors for her being included in the execution of Kosem.They made her power hungry and evil,but she wasn't like that. Of course,she wasn't apolitical after she transfered the power to Koporlu. It's different. And some said with this she had finished SOW.But the last member of Sultanate of Women is Gulnus Sultana.
Handan is completely opposite,and so wrong in the series,the same goes with Ayse.
I think that Ayse could be powerful Valide too historicly, like Kosem.
Also about Nurbanu, same case as Turhan.They are considered as evil, incapable,and etc.

Sultan Mihrrimah fell in love with men she felt she could be happy with. As far as I am aware, she didn’t physically cheat on Rustem. On the other hand, Rustem had relations with other women.
