Misha, Vucko and Hodori are probably my three favorite Olympic mascots. I hope when L.A. host 2028 that they will use Sam as the mascot again.
I dunno they didn’t use the FUWA mascots again the second time Beijing hosted the games and instead opted for Bing Dwen Dwen when Jingjing already existed with both mascots being pandas!

It's unlikely they'll reuse Sam but they might make another eagle/bird that looks like him, or use another North American animal (or something entirely unique)
The Vucko character is a cultural symbol, not just in Bosnia, but in the entire Balkans.
I like the way he sings.

Sam is the most American thing I’ve ever seen.
And he’s lovable
I hope they make another mascot reunion like that segment with Hodori in 1988 for future Olympics. It would be a charming scene to see: all the mascots, from the first to the last one, dancing and celebrating in harmony! (I thought they would do it for the 2020 Olympics, but well...Still waiting for it for Paris 2024!)

They did it in rio 2016 but the only mascots that asist are: misha the bear 1980, athenea 2004, fui ni lele(paralympic mascot) 2008, and finally wenlock and mandeville 2012
There is a picture from the Beijing 2022 mascot reveal that shows statues of the previous winter mascots together.

I'm almost tempted to start looking for and collecting Olympic mascot merch whenever I go out. Most of the mascots, especially Sam the Eagle, just seem like interesting characters. And speaking of Sam the Eagle, I hope one day someone finds the rest of the episodes of his animé. The one episode that's on UA-cam was fun to watch and I want to see more.

Vucko is widely popular in yugoslavia, and yea in mythology like serbia and Bosnia they belived they evolved from wolves and very famous saying "wolf changes his fur but never it's additude" is highly connected to that of dćserbs and bosnians additude

Red jaguar. However it was unofficial. Waldi was the first Olympic mascot to be official.

I wonder why you didn't mention the Sapporo 1972 Winter Olympics unofficial mascot named Takuchan? FYI, he's based on an Asian black bear, and is now here as an honorable mention.
E' un pò strano Waldi, il bassotto che i tedeschi hanno scelto per rappresentare i giochi del 1972. Ma per me il Misha dei giochi del 1980 rimane il migliore in assoluto, con il suo sorriso buono.
E piaceva tantissimo anche a mia mamma. Ho un vago ricordo dei bambini che ballavano vestiti da Misha, però comunque bello.
Non so chi preferiva mio papà, visto che non posso più chiederglielo, essendo morto nel 2006, ma credo che Misha sia stato il preferito all'unanimità.

I remember that before on DeviantArt, a guy would harass me and he always wanted to force me to draw Vucko (I didn't even know it was a pet), he always wanted me to draw him and always commented on my drawings, and I was just trying to ignore him
Since then, I don't have good memories of the character, and now this video appeared in recommended
