The Snowlets are weird looking, but kind of cute at the same time. I can't wait to see the modern olympic mascots episode, because I love mascots in general! Also, I have a suggestion for future episodes: History of Burger Chef mascots and History of Chuck E Cheese and his crew!
I actually remember Izzy, more than any other mascot that came after him, and that's only because of how hard the Olympic committee pushed for him to be liked by the people. Except no one wants to be a fan of a giant sperm thing.
In the next Olympic mascots video continuing onwards to the modern Olympic mascots, please include Paris 2024's Olympic mascot "The Phryges" (pronounced fri-jee-uhs), which was officially unveiled as of November 14th, 2022. They are in reference to the small French caps worn by Marianne during the French revolution.
This was a great episode! I can't wait to see the episode on modern Olympic Mascots. I feel bad for Izzy and the Snowlets though, they never got much of a chance to become popular.
Izzy was just wrong. It was inappropriate for celebrating the Centennial Olympics and was certainly not a hit with most adults. At least the Snowlets was something uniquely Japanese.
Yeah the other videos on mascots seem to pronounce it as koh-bee, the clips from his show even pronounce it that way so I guess that the canon pronunciation.
It's pretty funny how Izzy was so disliked even early on by the adult audience but became so beloved by children.

Honestly, I think Izzy is somehow lucky (or unlucky?) he didn't get canned like that goat mascot that was replaced by Magique.
